In my opinion, Kaidan is one of if not the most well written romances in the series. I did hear that Liara's romance was good in the DLC, but I am of the opinion that it does not get rid of the weak start of her romance.

Liara is swooning from the outset over Shepard, and the romance begins when they have barely known each other. I remember playing the game and thinking "what?" when Liara asked if there was a connection between her and Shepard. Liara felt like she was based around her romance. Kaidan's romance felt like they based it on Kaidan. The latter makes for a more compelling romance and a more compelling romance interest.

SO TRUE. femshep/kaidan is about them - the two of them - being real people. i've heard ashley/shep is like that, too, but cannot verify. but again, the relationship is based on kaidan being himself.

I finally got around to finishing up my fic.  I'm moving in less than two weeks so I wanted to complete it before all the hustle bustle starts.  I feel kind of sad that it's over.  I've enjoyed writing it so much.  It's really helped me through the ME2 lack of Kaidan.

Played LOTSB finally and, although I enjoyed it, I'm so jealous!  Liara fans are very lucky.  It makes me wish all the more for some DLC for the VS and Shepard--seeing all of these other happy couples while my poor FemShep is sadly Kaidanless.

I was just looking up meanings and origin for the name "Kaidan" and I found a few possibilities:
Kaidan - from Kaden (Arabic) meaning "companion
Kaidan - (English) Rebel, Fighter, Spirit of Battle
Kaidan - Kwaidan (Japanese) "ghost story"

You know I just finished playing LOTSB again with my male shep and that just makes me want a DLC with Kaidan in it so much more.

Hehe, cute.  I really hope we get "downtime" moments with our LIs in ME3.  It would be nice to get out of the "set number of conversations and then a love scene before the finale" rut finally.  Interacting like a real couple would be nice.

I love this fanfic. I remember seeing it and not clicking it at first because the title led me to believe that femshep would be like all over every man she came in contact with (behaviour I do not see fitting with my interpretation of femshep). But I'm happy I gave it a shot because it is awesome! I love her AI therapist. And the nookie scenes (especially before Ilos) are really great. They aren't as long or detailed as many I've read but more compelling regardless. Perhaps because they are written so naturally, I'm not sure. Femshep may be an addict but she handles herself (pun not intended) exceptionally well, as I would expect her to.

It's probably open to misunderstanding because the term 'sex addict' is used often in the media to justify men cheating on their (usually gorgeous) wives with like a zillion hookahs  (Tiger Woods, Jesse James etc). Not that I'm saying either way that they have a problem or not, it's just what sprung to mind.
