Interesting how for so many people the holo gazing scene just automatically conjures up music. It's such an emotional moment--I think sometimes words alone just don't aptly describe it. It just seems to almost call for music.
I recently took a pop singing course for fun. (I'm a classically trained soprano so I wanted to develop my middle range a little better. Easier said than done.) One of the exercises we had to do was pick a song and create a "subtext" for it. We had to use a movie, story, or some made up background to help us get into the emotions of the song. I ended up singing "Love Has No Pride" and I picked the Holo scene from ME2 as my subtext. For me, the song is about letting your guard down completely and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. For a whole bunch of reasons Shepard can't do this and I don't think she would. But internally--on the night before the suicide mission-- I think there is a big part of her that would want to just lay all of her cards on the table and admit to Kaidan just how deeply she misses him.
The recording is live so it's not perfect.

I only speak two languages fluently, my Japanese could use some polishing, and my French is fading away, but all languages I speak are at least fairly simple.
ONLY?! o_O
And I think Kaidan might speak a few, or at least studied some.

But I'd like to think that language studies will be compulsory in the future. I find languages useful and interesting, and I can't imagine that everyone will have translators... o_O

updated my fanfic for the first time in a few weeks. own writing taking up my time lately. well, that and re-creating my shep.
Kyrie sharing a beer with Ash really broke my heart. And: "This not knowing was driving her crazy."
Not only Kyrie, sagequeen.
Great chapter as usual!

Those tight suits must be a b!tch for men trying to conceal that, i mean just look at how they accentuate your ass. Is there even a waistband it can be tucked into?
That reminds me I really should go reread Fort's Parallax. There's a particularly hilarious scene where Kaidan finds himself in this situation.
More Parallax for all Fort!!! Are you listening!!!
(by the way your profile pic disappeared on FFN Fort)

I can't decide on a caption.
"WTF is this gun doing stuck to my arm?"
or
"No, Wrex. THIS is a manbasket."

yeah. on the ME2 femshep armor there appears to be...ahem. it's darker around a certain region. if you use the camo pattern, it shows up even more. i found it rather...disturbing. like i wanted to wax my armor or something.

Yes, you see that too in the class selection screen of ME1 if you select a female vanguard. You see *everything* down there...

I feel bad that Valen has gotten so few votes, he was a romance before his time. If he was magically transported into Dragon Age...*swoon*

I'm teaching her how to play ME1, and we're watching the scene where Joker, Shepard, and Kaidan are introduced and talking.
Mom: "Can I have a boyfriend in this game?"
Me: "Yes."
Mom: "Oh, I want that dark one!" *points to Kaidan*

Yay moms!
Awwww, that's so cute!
It just proves--there's something about Kaidan.
Oh, and about the voting for best Bioware male romance, I can't believe Alistair is so popular. I haven't finished DAO yet so maybe I haven't gotten to the real heart of the romance. I definitely like how frequently you get to talk to him and he has a good sense of humor but.....he doesn't even begin to compare to Kaidan.

Yeah, I came into Mass Effect knowing already that Kaidan was a potential LI and voiced by the same VA as Carth. Which is actually what drew me to the game in the first place, and then I stayed not only because I loved his character but because of the amazing universe Bioware built.

@Brody: I showed my mom ME1 and KOTOR and she fell asleep *Rolls eyes*
Alistair's romance is very cute and sweet. But, IMO, he's still a boy. He's like a puppy you have to train. Kaidan is a man. He's had experiences in life. He's dealt with them. He's fully there to help with your problems if you want or need help and will use that experience to help you. You don't need to tell him what he has to do. You don't need to help him get the bad guy that he let get away first. You don't have to help him deal with his daddy issues or issues with his son. He's just there for you.Ariaya

Kaidan's talking after Jenkins dies.
Mom: "Can they kiss?"
Me: "Later in the game, but not now. Do you want them to kiss now?"
Mom: "Yes, for good luck."
I'm glad your mom was instantly smitten, Ariaya.
Sorry about your mom Jade.
He has a really nice voice. That's one of the reasons I like his character so much. And he's also an awesomely written character in ME1.
My mom basically just wanted to create her Shepard, but she doesn't want to fight and die, so she wants to watch me play it while she makes the decisions regarding dialogue.
We'll see how that arrangement works out. XP.
