I'm wondering Sage ... your SSs are very high res looking; I don't get nearly that quality even on maxed out graphic options. What sorcery do you work to get such images?

resolution:
1280x1024 for desktop
1152x864 for game

Bloom effects: off (have to do that with the .ini file and notepad ++
Aspect ratio: normal (4:3)
Particle effects: high
texture detail: ultra high
filtering mode: anisotropic
dynamic shadows: off
vsynch: off
film grain: off

I also bumped up the gamma (brightness) about 20% because by default it's really dark

I then run fraps, screenshot from that, upload them into picasa for a final fill light/warmify/glow pass before saving them as jpegs and uploading them.

I did a thing about flycam from my Blog with some more details. It's taken me a while to figure out what works well for my machine. my hubby was appalled to find that i was running my gaming machine at such low rez graphics. when pumped up fully, it's AMAZING - but i have to turn them down just a little so fraps doesn't hang too badly.

Kaidan: The concept here was essentially, "The guy who suspiciously does not have issues and doesn't need you to fix him." He's one of the big info-givers in the game about biotics, which was fun, and Sbarge does great delivery of wry, bemused lines.

Like Ash, Kaidan suffers from being human -- which is really tough, because you don't want Shepard to be the only human on the squad, but MAN, as soon as somebody gets correctly bending knees and working lips and a visible face, the bar gets raised on what we need to do to make people like them. I think that that's because people see being alien as a hook -- and so if you make a human follower, that human follower needs more of a hook than you expect, since they don't have that alien-ness to draw people. I really liked Kaidan.

I really like this concept.

Finally, someone you don't have to fix or take care of their issues. A main problem for me and made it difficult to get back into the ME2 squad members. Everyone always wants something from Shepard - Kaidan and Ash were just there with support and advice.

I don't like the argument that the obvious sexual attraction Kaidan has to femshep makes their romantic relationship 'weaker'. It's sometimes argued that this is inferior to other femshep relationships in which there is no obvious sexual attraction until the nookie scene. To me, it seems weird that the other party displays no carnal desire. Yes, I understand the emphasis is on friendship and bond but there has to be some kind of physical attraction for the LI to say yes to sex.

And physical attraction is usually what begins a relationship. Without sexual attraction and chemistry, you're just friends with the other person -.-

Sbarge does great delivery of wry, bemused lines as well as lines with a subtle, sarcastic/snarky sense of humor, and when it comes to the really heartfelt romantic lines (c.f. Kaidan's speech before Ilos or Carth's, "You gave me a future.  I want to give you a future too... with me), his voice is guaranteed to make you want to melt.
