We should recommend a couple of sites of the net. They'll soon realise those ME scenes are practically sesame street
With heavy sarcasm (a little Elcor style for ya): Oh, but those sites are so much more carefully guarded. I mean, you have to click a button and promise you're over 18 before you can view the naughty bits... whereas with video games *gasp* any kid can play!!!!

LOL. I actually got into BW games because this celebrity blog I read had Zevran's gay sex video linked. Then, I learned BW was 'controversial' so I went on an interwebz search. Eventually I found some articles saying that ME had like extremely graphic sex scenes, sodomy, and basically an open world that let the player rape any NPC they wanted. Oh and then they had some BS psychiatrist back all that up, before it was revealed that she had never actually played the game. She ended up retracting her statements. After playing ME for myself ... /smh

Oh, and some people have said they only romanced Kaidan in ME1 because they felt they 'had to'. WTF. Kaidan is so low key about stuff; it's easy to end the relationship by accident. He's not like Alistair who constantly calls you beautiful, special, gives you roses and acts totally crushed when you turn him down.Chignon wrote...
I agree, oenis. It takes nothing away from a relationship to feel attraction. I honestly don't understand the reasoning behind that opinion - maybe some people are just trying to find reasons to deem the Kaidan romance as "lesser".

And the rape, maybe thats something else femsheps go without?

I think it's odd if they had been friends first and then developed an attraction like way later ... I mean it does happen with people obviously but I expected atleast a little hint of sexual attraction before femshep propositions her ME2 LIs. A lot of people argue really strongly against that. I'm not trying to put down their opinions or anything but I don't see the sexual attraction as taking away from femshep/kaidan. It doesn't make their friendship bond any less strong; that's what I'm trying to say.
I think that those who prefer the way the ME1 romances were done like the fact that Kaidan, Liara, and Ashley all express interest in Shepard from the beginning, while the ME2 romances begin abruptly, and are mostly dependent on Shepard making the first move. The male oriented romances, like Tali, have some hints of attraction before the beginning of the romance proper, but for the FemShep love interests, it's all on her, with the extreme example being Jacob.
I know that those who were interested in the ME2 romances don't mind this, or prefer this method of introducing romance, but for those of us who were planning to stay faithful on their main playthrough, there's nothing that makes me *want* to pursue any of the ME2 options, when it seems that these characters don't really feel anything for Shepard until she makes the first move. That's a turn off for me in real life too, I wouldn't abruptly ask a person out on a date who hasn't given me clear signs of interest.
These differences are why I actually hope we don't get any new love interest options in ME3. Let us just continue to expand on the relationships we've already established, instead of focusing on the awkward beginning parts.

More romances in ME3 would be insane. Well, maybe a salarian....
A salarian romance would crack me up. I wouldn't pursue it but I'd totally check it out on youtube. I hope it would start with a thorough comparison of genetic records for the past 10 generations....

I don't like the argument that the obvious sexual attraction Kaidan has to femshep makes their romantic relationship 'weaker'. It's sometimes argued that this is inferior to other femshep relationships in which there is no obvious sexual attraction until the nookie scene. To me, it seems weird that the other party displays no carnal desire. Yes, I understand the emphasis is on friendship and bond but there has to be some kind of physical attraction for the LI to say yes to sex.
i have heard this also, often in conjunction with why garrus/shep is a better romance because there's no attraction at first.
and i love garrus, i do, but the lack of attraction kept me from ever wanting to try it. that's why i prefered reading sia's fanfic with the attraction from garrus in the fic.
seriously - we are embodied beings. if you didn't find the physical attractive that would just be...boring.

That's what I thought. I love the Garrus romance but I think the well done fanfiction does a much better job of connecting the dots and filling in the blanks.

Garrus romance starts with FemShep wanting to "blow off steam". It always seemed very out of the blue for me. I like the slow build up of the Kaidan romance with him dropping hints every so often.
That is not to say that Garrus's romance is worse. I think that it is a bit silly to compare romances - different people like different stuff. What I don't get is why people are trying to prove their LI is the best one, often with discrediting the other ones.

yes. and this is why i was sad the garrus lines were so out of the blue. there could have been some really, really sweet stuff there - he always had a crush on shep, wasn't sure what to do about it, etc. but instead they went for "i don't have a human fetish". - again, it took reading a few sharrus fanfics to see any possibility there.
oh well - OT. have a kaidan

If I didn't already hate Harkin, I'd certainly do so now. Great chapter, sagequeen.
I must have missed your previous update, though. I love your explanation for Kaidan's picture on the desk in Anderson's office.

I dont know who finds it weird for 2 human beings to have a sexual attraction...........since thats the way its been for maaaaaaaaaaaany years now.
Thats the way it works for me tho and thats the reason i loved Kai..coz he had shown an interst in me before i make a pass on him

This was my favourite part: "I doubt that. The woman is far too professional to get involved with her own crew." I giggled. Poor Kaidan!
OT, I found this comment on a femshep/kaidan romance video: "Kaidan... I'm pregnant.""JOKER'SWAITINGFORYOUONTHEBRIDGE. *ZOOM!*"
