I don't consider it cheating. You died. That dissolves the relationship. I would consider attempting to string along both sets of LIs cheating. The key for me is that Shepard act honorably as soon as the game allows her to and break things off with Kaidan if she's now interested in someone else. Until there is a proper breakup option, you really can't blame players for not taking it.

I'm a bigger fan of Kaidan as well, though I express it a bit strangely.

I don't think LotSB showed the real consequences of cheating either. I think they are saving the true fallout for ME3. I would really like a little something extra in romance content for staying loyal.

Was there even a "consequence"? If so, then I must have missed it.

From what I gathered, Liara snaps at Shepard once after taking Vasir down and then later Shepard has to decide if s/he wants to continue the romance with Liara or the ME2 LI.

It'll be interesting to see how Bioware will handle the situation. I hope they don't give into the calls for "catfights" and other such things.

My being silly and suggesting we have Kaidan and ME2LI punch each other in a random fountain to mimic a movie. That definitely warrented name calling.

It's been done to death in bad fanfiction. I hate to see it happen in the final game of the ME saga.

I was referring to people that actually want it to happen in game so they can see the original LI get beat to a pulp for whatever reason. Sorry if I'm not communicating well; my head's been throbbing all day.

I have been guilty of leading Liara on in order to see the confrontation scene, and I think that if done well, it could be funny or even heartbreaking to have one in ME3 (I think this is inevitable, honestly).



What I don't care for is the bizarre scenarios people seem to want, in which their ME2 LI acts in a way that is wildly out of character, in order to feed their egos and punish the ME1 love interests. Before LotSB, I even saw people asking to be able to kill Liara...??? I haven't seen those kind of posts lately, but it's really weird to me, and pathetic. If you like your new LI, demanding that they act in a way that is OOC is doing them an injustice, and if you don't like the old LI, why would want them dead or physically harmed, just for being not to your personal taste? If I didn't care for Kaidan, and I preferred one of the ME2 LIs, it would be silly to focus any energy on him, instead of the new LI.



Those revenge fantasies should be kept to awful fanfiction. They can turn Kaidan into Ron the Death Eater over there and leave it out of ME3, please.

I'm not a fan of the "catfight" scenario myself. I like Kaidan, Garrus, and Thane. Why the hell would I want these great characters to fight each other. I prefer to ship Kaidan elsewhere and am very attached to my crack pairing, thank you very much.

Thought I'd pop in after hearing about KAST on FFN, and now because of Quaay's pic I don't think I will ever want to leave.

On the topic of LI confrontation, I also agree it's inevitable in ME3, maybe yanks on the heartstrings a bit, but remains tasteful and in character. I despise random OOC.

It'll probably be us getting yelled at than the others bickering. I cant think of any characters that would act in that way, bar maybe Jack

No matter how I look at the ME2 romances ... cheating or not... one thing for my Shepard stands out. Ilos was only about a month before ME2 for her.. and she still has feelings for him. It may have been only two years for everyone else but for her it was overnight.



Whether she put the relationship on hold for fraternization rules (as TZ said) or went on shore leave with Kaidan (hey, my party my rules), it still just happened.



Now in deference to the not cheating sect.... At the end of the night before Ilos the two options ..

'Kaidan you're a sweetheart' & 'I don't think I have all my agression worked out' can both be seen as lines said after a night of good sex that didn't mean anything much. I am not saying that it should be looked at that way, but it could if you Shep is not looking for Mr. Right, but Mr. Right Now.



Urm yeah, Mine stayed loyal.



But Cheating? It's all a matter of perspective.

Kaidan is Mr Right for me. I tried all ME2 LI, and i mean all, but didnt suit me well. I love Garrus and Thane but Kai is the ONE for me. So i deleted every game and kept only the one that remained faithfull to Kai. I even regreted trying the other LIs
