This. The last thing we need is Shep turning into a "OMG I Wanna Die" whenever Kaidan vanishes.

No offense to Twilight fans but New Moon was a wallbanger. Half the book was her wangsting over a guy she barely knew.

My Shepard will have you know that she can live perfectly well without Kaidan.

... besides, she's too busy wangsting over her cybernetic implants and being brought back to life against her will.

It's hard to tell if this post is a joke or perfectly serious. I would've liked New Moon...if Bella hadn't keep trying to off herself over Edward. I mean...she barely knows the guy.

Still my Shep did wangst about being brought from the dead. There Shep was having some drinks with Jenkins and laughing about how everything was perfect when all of a sudden Shep wakes up to Miranda in their face and with their body in agonizing pain. Ever since then Shep's been pissed. It's one bad thing after another.

I like your scenario. Me, Jenkins, Prestly, and that one varren from BDtS. I loved that guy, even as he mauled off my leg.

Ah, good times.

Hey there seems to be lots of Kaidan memes, I dont check this thread enough; anyway, are there any fanarts that have Kaidan styled as Edward and a femshep as Bella?

Dear god, I hope not.

Yeah, pretty much any connection between Twilight and ME is doomed to get blown to smithereens with big guns of quality content and deep intercharacter development.

It's jokingly serious.  My Shepard is content that Kaidan is somewhere out there and hopes that he's safe, although she doesn't really want to see him again (she and I disagree on that point, but so it goes).  She doesn't like the cybernetics, and having been dragged back to life kicking and screaming has kinda made her a little... unstable.  :?

I know nothing of Twilight, other than that it allegedly portrays a very unhealthy adolescent relationship between a teenage girl and a sparkling vampire (you know, the stuff that makes it through cultural osmosis.)

I'll be a nerd and say the only relationship/couple-like theme I ever really liked from a series was from Dr. Who.

Oh good. The thing about the internet is you're certain someone has to be joking yet they'll be dead serious.

Yeah my Shep was displeased about the ressurrection as well. Especially considering they were chilling with Jenkins at the time. Now Shep's upset. Back alive, has a weird limp and neck twitch. Stuck working for crazy Cerberus, Kaidan calls Shep a traitor, Liara's turned into someone Shep doesn't even recognized, Wrex is busy (even though they at least hugged), Tali's and Garrus are too busy working on the Normandy's engines and calibrating (respectively) to bother friendship talking with Shep.

The only one Shep can talk to is a dying man with perfect recollection of his memories. Granted they're nice conversations but Shep's a little peeved that the so called friends can't spare them any time.

Edit: Brief synopsis of Twilight: Girl sees hot guy, girl falls in love with hot guy, hot guy ends up saving girl from a couple of bad situations and shows her he's "special". Girl is intrigued and demands to know his secrets, guy wangsts and tries to hide it from her. Girl is a mary sue that's supposedly "plain" looking yet has every male she meets with few exceptions (or are bad guys) not fall in love with her. One of said guys reveals to her (or gives her enough hints) to figure out that hot guy is a vampire, girl contronts him and then hot guy wangsts about being a vampire that sparkles (yeah...sparkles in sunlight. Seriously Meyer?) cue a whole book of them wangsting about their relationship, then near the end of book Girl ends up being attacked by other vampire guy. So in the next book hot guy decides to break up with her for her "protection", girl spends half of next book wangsting about how guy left her. >_>

That's the point where I put the book away in disgust. ]

*Note: This is a very broad generalization.

Add that too the misgyony (apparently every female in the series must have babies or something is wrong with her!), the wall bangers (Bella's power apparently stops the Volturi without any blood being drawn despite the Volturi (don't care about spelling) being UBER POWERFUL!, and the squick (Jacob imprinting on Bella's baby. Ick. Ick. ICK!)

I'm all for breaking out of the norm and try to create something new... But I cannot get over the sparking.
Seriously, I would of been perfectly fine with:

Bella: Wait, aren't you supposed to burn up in the sun?
Edward: Lul u watch too much of teh tvies.

Or maybe they're just more sensitive to it and prefer to stay out of it. Something that didn't involve sparkles. <_<

Yup, and mothers and daughters alike swoon over it. Did you know that Forks, Washington is now a tourist destination? My mom and sister went there (for family reasons not Twilight, mom's mom lives in Washington and her fam is scattered all over the state) and they have some crazy stories. Bus loads of mother-daughter pairs, reservation signs that draw the border between vampire land and werewolf/shape shifter land, post offices overrun with letters from little girls asking for Edward or Jacob, crazy stuff.

My sister's friends are into it, thankfully she isn't, at least no at home (I try not to pressure but sometimes they pressure themselves) and I make a point to jest about it when they are over.

I watched the first one in theaters with my GF of the time and that whole scene left me scratching my head. I was expecting something along the lines of Vampire Hunter D or Helsing. Some sort of freaky monster you know? But I couldn't even tell he was sparkling.

I actually made a juxtoposition of Twilight to the song If I Was your Vampire by Marilyn Manson but the twilight fans beat me to it.

It can be found here.

The little girls asking for Edward or Jacob part disturbs me.

Makes me wonder. Would Kaidan like Twilight? I think he'd just shrug at the end.

Frankly it should disturb everyone. But it's not as disturbing as this:

http://www.maniacwor...e-standard.html

Edit: I think Kaidan might laugh at it. I doubt he'd like it though. ...Or at least I hope he wouldn't.

If he did my Shep would never mention it again. Ever.

XD

Kaidan: "How could you possibly hate Twilight?"  :o
Shepard: "...how could you possibly like Twilight?"  <_<
Kaidan: "Well, it's got that host guy and the aliens and the funny music that goes do-do-do-do-"
Shepard: "Kaidan, that's The Twilight Zone."
Kaidan: "Oh.  Er... then what's Twilight?"
Shepard: "You don't want to know."

In short: I'm not sure he'd even know about it unless it was remade in space.  :innocent:

I remember watching Jimmy Kimmel many months ago when he had most of the main cast on his show, they went outside to some stage set up and had some people from the audience (which was flippin' huge outside) come on to ask one of them a question. One of the girls asked Taylor Launter if his abs were real, and if they were, if he'd take his shirt off. :?
I remember Kimmel saying that if it was a guy asking s girl if her asscheeks were real and if they were to show them to everyone, he'd have half a dozen guys beating him to the ground.
I completely believe the girls were sending letters by the dozen. Girls are 21 by the time they hit 8. I mean, pfft, who needs a childhood anymore these days? ;)

That's gold. Comedy gold.

Sadly I have never seen the Twilight Zone. :?

I know I should've...but...never saw it. Not even once.

I think he would walk out of the cinema and claim that he didn't want to put himself through something that made him feel like that was (two)? hours of his life he was never getting back...................... ;)

I greatly enjoy the Twilight Zone, though I can admit that it isn't for everyone.  I kinda suspect that Kaidan might prefer the Outer Limits, though I can't be sure.

Edmund... you might want to brace yourself for a chorus of squeeing :D I myself only read P&P once in the 5th grade, and I'm pretty sure it was a watered-down children's version (Yes, I know, I'm a horrible person. I've already promised Jade I'm going to check the book out from Bowdoin's library to read when I'm flying home for Thanksgiving next month) but there are a lot of fans here :D

Ha, that's great, sir-edmund.

And the Twilight Zone was awesome, I wish reruns were still shown on tv. I'd much rather see a Rod Sterling Kaidan than an Edward Cullen version (why in the world would anyone ever want that, unless it's a parody, or they're making fun of Kaidan???)

Anyway, this post is just an excuse to post my favorite anachronous Kaidan:

@ Sir-Edmund: Sqee! Love Jane Austen - read all her books regularly (well, ok, not Mansfield Park; not a big fan of this one). Still, Kaidan as Mr. Darcy! *melts*   Posted Image
