I mostly just reread Pride & Prejudice, Persuasion, and Sense & Sensibility. The other three require I be in the right mood to deal with their quirks.

And sir-edmund, I also love your Kaidan Darcy. :) And tuxedo Kaidan has always been one of my favorites.

I love the tux pic, too. With the suspenders showing, it's extra-delicious...

@ Jilly:  I agree that others - like Northhanger Abbey require the right mood.  But I'm much more inclined to read that one than say, Mansfield Park because my modern sensibilities dislike the way the "Elizabeth Bennett" character is twisted into being so horrible while passive l'il Fanny is universally adored.

Still, I can definitely get into Kaidan as Mr. Darcy!

I had to bring this to the new page. And you've gone and put ideas into my head, sir-edmund. Now where's my sketchbook?

@Star: Yes, Mansfield Park is my least favorite too. Northanger Abbey's pretty silly, actually. :D

@Chignon: oooh, period-Kaidan sketches? Maybe? Would be awesome... ^_~ Yay for ideas!

Kaidan is such a gentleman, he'd fit surprisingly well into an Austen story for a sci-fi character.

Why not "Pride and Prejudice and Mass Effect" along the lines of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?"

That would be fabulous!  While my husband (a huge zombie fan) wasn't all that happy with P&P&Z, the concept is great!  And everything is better with Kaidan.Posted ImagePosted Image

I think Kaidan would prefer watching those thorian creepers vomit than Twilight...

Seriously, my little sister (she's my niece really, but she like to tell that I'm her sister) asked me if I could go with her to watch that movie, and I went... I don't know what was worse, watching a movie for teenagers or listening a fanatic horde of teenagers (and some adults *creepy*) screaming and crying during the movie.

My problem with P&P&Z, which my husband got me, as I am both an Austen and zombie fan, was that the adjustments to the story to add the zombies in changed some very basic character traits in Darcy and Mr Bennett, (though the author mostly kept the girls consistent in personality, with the obvious difference of being zombie killers), and they were both a bit too crude and rude in the new version for me. Though the idea was fascinating, I can't really recommend the result.

P&P in space could be great fun though. Does that make Joker Mr Bingley then, as apparently he's Kaidan's best friend? (They need some snooty sisters now...)

^ Oh well, perhaps it would work better with Ash and ManShep... she's got the family that's fallen out of favor AND the sisters.

Though I would totally go for one with Kaidan styled as Mr. Darcy and female Shepard as Elizabeth Bennett.

Well now you've put all sorts of ideas in my head.

Miss Shepard finds Mr. Alenko very agreable indeed.

*longing sigh*  I love Jane Austen books and movies.  And that photos is just...  Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
I don't like the Mansfield Park novel as much as the others.  But the Miramax version of the movie is really great because it takes the story and mixes some of Austen's life and other works into.  Makes the story MUCH better.  ;)
I LOVE P&P, S&S, and Persuasion.  I love how Austen gives her heroines 2nd chances at happiness.  I hope shepard gets her second chance with Kaidan, too.

@sparkling vampires:  I like the Twilight books.  The whole relationship thing makes more sense in the books than in the movies.  Plus, Edward and the first book are heavily influences by Austen.  So I love it.  I respect how much Meyer weaves various pieces of classic literature through the stories--something you can't really appreciate if you just watch the movies.

And FYI @sparkling:  The reason for that is this:  In Meyer's version of vampire conversion, when a vampire is being made, basically the cells die and are transformed into stone/crystal/marble type of material.  So vampires are like living stone.  That's why they are cold, why they can't digest regular food.
Its this crystaline structure of their cells that cause them to sparkle in strong sunlight.

Yes, sketches. I never tried something like this yet. So, maybe different periods, too. 20s, anyone? The possibilities are endless.

  For some reason, Austen-Ashley sounds spectacularly, hilariously awesome.  And yes, the sisters!

@Chignon  oooh!  zoot-suit Kaidan? :P  Though really, the military thing works so well on him too, now I"m picturing WWII era w/the uniform and a going away ball before he gets shipped off to Europe... Shepard would look lovely in a 40's style dress, all sleek and curvy.

dang, I wish I had some art skills.

Me and my friend took kids to see a Twilight movie (dont remember witch part tho).We managed to see the beggining and the end ( well, kids had to wake us up to see the end part ). Thats how interesting we found the movie
"Underworld" on the other hand...loved it.......seen it 15 times. And the main male hero is kind of reminding me of Kaidan........carrying but strong........human but a badass when needed

and i prefer Kaidan as a soldier.........with whatever uniform he could posibly wear

and i STILL have troubles replaying ME2....God, i hate horizon.......wish i had the chance to blow the place up (or blow down...........or whatever the english expression is :P)

THERE'S NO ZOMBIES IN AUSTEN.................... *seethes* <_<

Ahem, sorry, sorry, ppphhhweeee < *wheezes* ;)

Anyway, I might be a bit of an Austen purist. As much as I love remakes and new takes on classic literature (I love Scrooged for example) I just can't get my head round messing about with Austen. I have no idea why, I can only apologise for my unreasonable outburst....................................................

@chem: hee! You said cover. I love military people.
And then he goes inside, and takes it off, and fidgets just slightly with his hat in his hands cause he doesn't know what to say since Shepard's so purty in her fancy dress...
sorry, I appear to have a cheesy romance movie running through my head. I'll stop now.

eta: @Jenova.  I <3 your outburst.  But I liked Clueless...

@Chignon: aw, thanks. Unfortunately, I have never figured out how to get the images in my head out in any visible form. And however much I like the words, it's just not the same. ^_~ (And, have I mentioned how much I like Noah Shepard? I lurk the femshep thread, and your dArt account, and she's just lovely. And very distinctive, which can be tricky w/the character creator.)
