@Chignon: aw, thanks. Unfortunately, I have never figured out how to get the images in my head out in any visible form. And however much I like the words, it's just not the same. ^_~ (And, have I mentioned how much I like Noah Shepard? I lurk the femshep thread, and your dArt account, and she's just lovely. And very distinctive, which can be tricky w/the character creator.)

And I never really have good ideas; I'm terribly uncreative. So I'm always glad to hear ideas from others.

(Thank you! I'm so glad you like her - it took hours to get her right. And now, thanks to your idea, I just might draw her in a lovely 40s dress. I'll credit you for it! Posted Image)

Hehehehe I think this picture also falls under the category of "in case of emergency, there's imagination." Notice how everything below the waist is either cropped or hidden in black?

I always found it better and sexier that way. When there's too much detail I either go "meh" or end up disappointed.

An imaginations a fine thing to have. <3

eek, thank you, chignon! I'm honored! I recognize you from Deviantart. :D  (Longtime bioware forum lurker)
I have a new Shenko pic up at my gallery if anyone is interested

to chime in about Kelly Chambers-- come on, guys. ME3 isn't even out yet and she's being treated as a possible "other woman" with dagger eyes and airlock jokes?  It always disturbs me when people equate sexual appetite with being a bad person. Yeah she seems open to all sorts of romantic possibilities and she likes herself some eye candy, but this is not the middle ages.
Sorry, personal pet peeve of mine that we still use the "****/virgin" scale. Its 2010, right?
There isn't any evidence that Kelly isn't just running off at the mouth, either. I have friends we gossip and flirt a storm, but in rl are rather prudish. Not that it would change anything if the reverse were true.

I already got my first "I don't like Kaidan but" comment. "Girl, if I wanted to know what Pairing you like best, I'd have hunted you down and asked, or made a poll." ;)

eta: I'm also one of those people who love Kaidan and Ash equally. Damn you, Virmire!
I'm playing ME1 again and taking subtitled screenshots for the sole purpose of making a collage. It's gonna have all the quotes that counter everyone's ****** assumption that Ashley is xenophobic.

Have those people even looked up "xenophobic" in a dictionary?

I'm not fond of Kelly not because of what she says but by the fact that Shep's relationship with her just makes me think of sexual harassment.

Not to mention that strip dance.

I knew it's supposed to be an easter egg but it just serves to be somewhat trashy and borderline disturbing considering she gives it to you right after being abdjucted by aliens that were making human smoothies.

Frankly a more intimate conversation would've served the purpose just fine.

And even the devs don't think much of her because apparently "cuddling" with her on your bed doesn't count as cheating on your ME1 LI (I'd love to see the logic that explains that...)

You're very welcome! dirae, "Date Night" looks wonderful. You should share it here, too!
(And, wow, you drew that in ten minutes?! I'm jealous.)

It's simply impossible for me to understand how somebody can take the time to look at a Kaidan/Shepard picture and then write that they don't like it because they don't like Kaidan. Posted Image

I guess I have an entirely different view of it. Kelly never actually initiates anything inapporopriate. The most she does at the beginning is smile shyly if you agree to call her by first name. The rest is up to Shepard. While it is wrong for someone with her background to reciprocate or even pursue a fling with a co-worker/patient, its not like she mauls anyone.

(Kelly is not an actual mental health proffesional from what I can tell. Is she lisceneced? She has a college degree in the subject, but as she says, its her unofficial role. She's just there "to listen"-- therefore she's simply under the same expectations as other crewmembers of the ship.)

As for ninjamancing with Jacob, I'm a little confused. Yeah, some flirting can happen if the player isn't careful, but after the initial flirting, you'd really have to drag Jacob kicking and screaming into an actual romance. He's probably one of the most guarded and reluctant characters in the game, with the exception of Samara who won't romance by default. All his constant backpedling and "I like to keep things light" statements. You have to REALLY REALLY want to pair up with him. Its like Jacob is talking you out of it the whole time! Eventually I just let him talk me out of it ;)

In short, ninjamancing is a myth. I dare anyone to prove me wrong!

Kaidan ninjamanced me the first time through Mass Effect.  I didn't know there were romances in the game, and was pleasantly surprised to find out otherwise.  XD

I have a confession:

I'm so dense when it comes to relationships that the first time I played ME1, I didn't pick up on Kaidan's romance at all and somehow ended up telling him that I was interested in Liara

I'm not sure. But it still squicks the heck out of me. I guess it's just personal preference. She doesn't initate anything inappropriate but honestly talking about how hot you find random alien species is simply not professional. Especially not to your commanding officer. My Shep doesn't even talk to her most of the time.

Shep calls her by her first name not at of fliriting but because Shep calls everyone by their first name. Even Miranda when Shep barely knew her. It's Shep's way of letting people know that they're considered equals. If Shep's calling you by your last name you've pissed Shep off and it will not end well for you.

I guess I'm more lax with the engineers because they're not supposed to be my yeoman. Plus they're funny and Kelly...is well not.

If Femshep wasn't go: "Heeyy Jacob." I wouldn't mind so much...but that might just be my problems with FemShep's VO in general.

In short, ninjamancing is a myth. I dare anyone to prove me wrong!

*Points to Kaidan and the multiple (why am I romance X) thread in the original ME game forums. *

That sounds like something Kaidan might do if he were playing a video game... ^_^

Kaidan: Uh... Shepard, can you help me?
Shepard: What is it this time?
Kaidan: Where did I go wrong? Every dialogue option ends up with the elcor romance and that's... not what I want.
Shepard: Give me that. (*takes game controller*) Oh, you're locked in at this point. You have to go back to a game save from before you fight the pyjack swarm.
Kaidan: Ughh, then nevermind. I'll just make the elcor wait until later...
Shepard: You're gonna regret that when the next game comes out...

Pffft.
When I was playing Dragon Age last time, I finally made a male playthrough and decided to romance Morrigan the first time' round. I never said anything romantic or flirtacious to Leliana yet she still insisted that I said "all those things" to her and even after I told her it wasn't going to happen and she went back to friendship mode, she started the same exact conversation again down the road :pinched:
I never had that issue playing as a female with Alistair or in general. In fact, I'm curious why she gets upset the way she does when a male Warden sleeps with Morrigan and coule be endangering the welfare of the group, yet she gets very happy and girl talks with the female Warden about Alistair?

I didn't know there were romance options at all in the game.  Then suddenly there was flirting and double meanings to everything and I was making this face: "" because Kaidan was being so adorable about it all.  XD

I didn't know there were any romance options either. I played as male the first time around because I assumed like most games, I'd get more benefits from playing as a male. That plus the boob armor made me assume.. other things. Glad I was wrong though. :o

According to the MassEffect wiki entry about romances, if you're nice to Kaidan or Ash after being mind-raped by the prothean beacon, they will smile "and look slightly intrigued". That's not exactly romance tho, otherwise the creepy guy standing outside the Subway sandwich shop and I would be engaged.

I think the very first "spark" happens in the overlook in the Citadel. And from there, its pretty easy to encourage it or nip it in the bud.

Then again, I keep forgetting that not everyone has it all mapped out in their heads like I do. My wooing of Kaidain is precise, efficient and ABSOLUTE.
