This is like the 'stern dad' look.

Someone sure has babies on the mind today  But in all honesty, I think future admiral Alenko will make a great daddy.

In that case, I would be a very very 'naughty girl' that needed disipline often.

Just popping in to throw in my support for Shepard's original buddy. I still feel bad that I couldn't save both him and Ashley on Virmire.

Oh, and thank you for correcting that typo. That was bugging the heck out of me on the original thread. :D

Think my xbox is dying on me, not looking good. Freezes when I start it up and it beeps a few times. Darnit, and I just finished the darn Keepers scanning quest too. *sobs* I guess Kaidan's smexyness overloaded the system. Too much of a good thing ;)

Its funny you say this because just before ME2 was released I decided to do another playthrough of ME just to refresh my memory on what decisions I'd made.  I managed to get through the game but then my hard drive died.  Luckily I was able to save my ME1 saves, lol.  I think I'll  blame Kaidan's smexyness too.

:(

Sadday.

They don't make them like they used to. I've still got my original SNES (the first model they came out with). The plastic is turning yellowish, but it runs awesomely!

Poor Jho, do u have ME installed on the hard drive, I read somewhere that massive games like DA:O and ME2 had fried a couple of peoples systems but it was less likely to happen if you had installed them.

Of course could b utter crap but I'm so terrified of losing my stuff that I back everything up on a separate hard drive and even have one of those cooling fans though I have no idea if it even works!

I know, I know, I'm so gullable!

No, no installation on the hard drive...not big enough of a HD sadly. I've only been playing ME1 on occassion for the past days so it's not like the thing had to work really hard. I dunno, I'll try firing it up again in a bit and see what happens.

It's not that big a deal if it's busted, was starting over with save games anyway, but I don't feel like spending a few hundred euros on a new system..eek. But if that's what it takes, I'll make sure to get the 250gb HD one that's coming in a few weeks. That way I can install the heavier games like ME2 and hopefully that'll help.

Bummer though, boyfriend had to work today and I was looking forward to playing ME1 all day. Darnit, I wasn't even at the nekkid Kaidan part yet! Kaidan overloaded the system while scanning Keepers! Or maybe my Shepard got too hot while staring at him doing the scanning and she fried the system...hmm...could be.

Would have been fun if the system froze and I got "Assuming direct control" instead of the horrid, scratchy beeping noise ;)

I have one too! A while back my xbox would freeze up or make strange noises so I turned it off and bought one immediately... maybe I just think it's working but I haven't had any problems since.

Random: I'm ready to punch the cover system in the face. No, I do not want you to crouch. I want you to go over the barricade so that I don't die. And now I can't see. Thanks, heroin track marks!

I know what you mean! Sometimes I'll be running to another cover spot further up and it puts me into cover right in the line fo fire on a closer spot I didn't want to stop at! Ugh.

While I'm complaining... what did you guys think of the leveling system... I had so many unused points it was just silly.

I'm still working on the leveling stuff... I'd like to know anything people can tell me because I am extremely uptight with leveling.

I guess I was refering to the skill attribution. The way that you have to have 1, 2, 3, and then 4 points to level up a skill. On my first playthrough, I had 2 unused points for almost everyone. Basically, you get 29 points because one is automatically assigned to the bottom power that's unlocked after the loyalty missions. I tried to evolve everything but couldn't...can only do three max and one has to be bottom, top and then either 2nd or 3rd skill - your choice. If you choose not to evolve three, then you'll have unused points. I just feel like we didn't get much room for customizing their powers and playing to whichever strengths or weaknesses we wanted to. It sucked having points that couldn't be used... basically you got leveled up but no benefit from it since you couldn't assign those points.

The thing I find annoying is when your squadmates come & stand directly in front of you when you are obviously shooting at something/someone, then they have the gall to rant at you for shooting them - don't stand in front of me when I'm shooting, moron.

I think I actually prefer the leveling system from ME1, I tend to use up all my Sheps points but I always have 1 or 2 points left over on all my squadmates.  Never thought I would miss the Mako either but scanning gets old after about the 10th planet.

Yeah, I shot up Jack a lot.
ME1 was better, and in 2 you can reassign Shepard's points anytime you want...so I could always use all of those points.... I don't know if I "miss" the Mako, but planet scanning does get very tedious.

If it's any comfort, it does seem to make more sense as you go. I was pissed off beyond belief with the new cover system to start with, but after going back to play ME1 yesterday I think on balance that it's one of the things that actually improved in ME2. Although why it is that sometimes running into stuff makes you go into cover and sometimes you just stand there like a lemon is still a mystery...

Bleurgh. The only thing I liked about it was the fact that you could use Retrain Powers to reset all your points usage, but even that is something that would have been more useful in ME1, where you actually had to think about where your points went. The new system is oversimplified to the point of idiocy. Plus, as an Adept...when on earth did they decide that you couldn't use any biotic powers against people with shields?! "The best at defeating enemies without firing a shot!" is the stupidest tagline I've ever heard of when you're compelled to blast at people before you can actually use any of your abilities.

/end rant. Phew. Feel better now. Kaidan thread is a soothing influence.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed with what they've done to my main adept Shep, singularity is pretty much useless now & nowhere near as good as it was in ME.  I am finding that Sentinel is turning out to be my favourite class (not just because of Kaidan either, lol).

I might try that on my next playthrough then. It could even make sense for my Shep as a character - she seems to use an omni-tool far more than she did in ME1, and as soon as I started on those minigames for hacking code or splicing circuit-boards, I imagined one of the Cerberus crew or Garrus and Tali commenting "You didn't used to know much about electronics." and Aki saying "A...friend...taught me a bit about it." and then immediately going all quiet and withdrawn for a minute because said "friend" isn't there.
