You... you... are really trying to keep my mind in the gutter right now, aren't you? And my current project in Poser isn't helping either.

And while I would have been happy for Kaidan to drop everything and follow Shepard, I don't think I would have respected him as much as I do for sticking to his principles.
Kaidan is a strong man. We all love this about him. He's not Shepard's lap dog that heels when she snaps her fingers. He shows on Horizon that he is her equal and has his own mind. He is able to go toe-to-toe with one of the most persuasive beings in the galaxy without backing down.
After the initial pain of watching him turn his back on her and leave, I have to admire him for his resolve to do what he feels is right.

true, I still believe he cares for her ause like he said every thing came hard to port. But loved... it just hit hard to my shepard almost like he didn't care at the time but anger showed that he still cared and there was the "sorry" letter that mentioned he went on a date with doctorlike we needed to read that lol
Re: the doctor
That's Kaidan, though: wanting to get everything on the table. And honestly... we know Shepard is alive, or going to be alive again, but he didn't. She. Was. Dead. and how was he supposed to know Cerberus was going to resurrect her? I mentioned my older brother that died... he had a girlfriend, you know. They loved each other very much. According to my mom, they were even talking marriage once they both graduated from college. She was devastated when he died! Just devastated! But you know what? After a few years, she started to date again, and none of us blamed her. Just the summer before last she finally got married to a wonderful man and all of us went to her wedding and were happy for her.
Now, in Kaidan's case, from what he said in the e-mail I get the very strong impression that it was just one date that didn't go anywhere. He just wasn't ready yet, and after only two years, that's perfectly normal. What would have happened if Shepard stayed dead, none of us will ever know, but now that he knows she's alive, I think the Citadel doctor doesn't stand anything close to a chance! If Shepard moved on, I think he would eventually as well. But as long as Shepard wanted to give their relationship a chance, I don't think he'd even look at another woman twice.

I don't mean to be rude, but that sounds more like rationalization to me. Everyone knows the Horizon encounter was flawed all the way to its core. Their reaction was in no way justified.
You're belief would make more sense if Kaidan/Ashley had not reacted so irrationally to you and given you a chance.
It would also make more sense if Shepard had actually been persuasive instead of choosing that one moment to lose all ability to persuade.

I agree. I think what Kaidan was trying to show there was that he was making an attempt at moving on with his life--not well, perhaps, but he was trying. He hadn't, though. Knowing Kaidan, "nothing serious" would have to mean that nothing really happened between him and the doctor.Joisan wrote...

Even so, if I ever write about Kimbri meeting 'Chelle, I'm not quite sure what's going to happen. Kimbri may be a paragon, but she also tends to be a little territorial.

Hmm.
Kaidan's lap is the happiest place on Earth!
Yep, that works, too.

Its true. Shepard's loss of coherency certainly helped Kaidan/Ash in their ability to leave.GuardianAngel470 wrote...

But put yourself in Kaidan's shoes. How shell shocked would you be? Your dead girlfriend/love of your life has returned. She's with the enemy. She might have faked the whole thing--her death, her everything you built with her, etc. And you just narrowly escaped being abducted by an alien invasion. The only solid thing Kaidan had to hold onto right then was his belief in the Alliance.

Given the circumstances, Kaidan and Ashley's reactions are justified and reasonable.

Kaidan doesn't need a hand guide. He knows where the hands go.

... not the best illustration of my point, but it works just the same. :innocent:

Guess what... I have another update for those who have been following the adventures of Carth and Andra in Truth and Lies. http://social.biowar...11885/25398.jpg
I'm just going to study that picture to bring my mood up. After the beginning, this chapter kind of turned into a real downer.

Darn it, where's my post from earlier when the subject of "loved" came up. I know Sia (or at least, one of her Shepards, Meghan) makes much of the past tense there, but here's my take on it: It doesn't mean he doesn't care for her anymore. Because really, seriously, just look at him. He wouldn't be hurting that bad if he didn't. But just like I wouldn't say I "love", present tense, my brother who passed away almost 8 years ago, Kaidan uses the past tense in speaking of Shepard because he assumed when she got spaced that it was over... until he runs into her on Horizon.
I'm convinced!
