Damn it, Fort. You could be right. I'd just like to think that the blaze of glory death is not the ONLY possible ending...

Oh, yay, edited for top of the page:

Or the VS could be the only possible liaison to the Council and Alliance.

It could either be really good or really bad. So there's your positive thought of the day :P

I honestly think the suicide/sacrifice thing has been played out now and I don't *think* they will do anything like that with Kaidan and Ashley :) I don't recall them ever doing anything that dumb in their games with love interests... I haven't ever felt let down at the end of a game, iyswim? Maybe KOTOR II, but that wasn't BioWare, so there you go!

It'd be so unfair to kill the one that survived so much. Seriously :(

Well, the Alistair romance from DA certainly had a tricky set of ending to negotiate... with plenty of potential for self sacrifice involved.

True, but nothing that the player wasn't totally in control of :)

That's true, but for my Cousland who romanced Alistair, it felt too slimey not to kill the Archdemon for real. So Alistair died and that was really sad, but I tried the ending with the dark ritual and I just couldn't keep that save. The final "happy" scene just felt really disgusting and hypocritical to me.

I don't want that at all for the Mass Effect series. If the only way to have a nice romance ending with Kaidan is to screw over the rest of the galaxy-- well, that's not gonna cut it for me.

Yeah, but you know how it is with the little ones. If they can't get attention through positive means, they start acting out.

Maybe I'll become next annoying kid...

Confusion both by own and counterpart actions and words. Still keeping memories of relationship close and dear. Lack of wish to forget in spite of unclear future.

Works for KaidanxRahna. Works for me, too. Maybe I should be glad for similar thoughts with favourite character, but somehow...

''I can't give details for obvious reasons. But I can tell you that I've not forgotten Ash and Kaiden at all. They are pivotal to the Mass Effect franchise... I wish I could tell you more!''
How nice is that? :-)
PS he uses smileys a lot too, lol ;-)

I, for one, do not believe the lies.  <_<

Chig posted this in the DLC thread.  That's awesome!

Thought the source was from the KAST.  ;)

What was Jesse's whole message, if you don't mind me asking?

No, because I have been here before with EA-bought companies.  Come ME3 we will all be playing blonde, blue eyed male surfer-dude Shepard, Kaidan will have died on Virmire, and nothing we have done will have mattered.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/surprised.png[/smilie]

(^ mostly hyperbole.  mostly.)

I'm even more suspicious now that they're going to kill off the VS in a blaze of glory :/

If it comes down to killing him or killing me... Shepard is going down in a blaze of glory.  After she tells him she loves him and that he should have great life. Posted Image

I want him as squad member, anything that gets him on the ship works for me,

Remember the whole Indiana Jones thing they mentioned? ;)

Anyway, I doubt they'll do another death routine with either the PC or his/her LI. We had the doom and gloom in DA, Shepard has already died in ME2, if they choose to walk that path again in ME3 it would be so unoriginal.
Even in the dark second act of the trilogy you're able to save all members of your squad quite easily, despite it being portrayed as hard etc etc early on. They could easily have made it impossible to save all for some dramatic impact, a real choice between characters or something...but they didn't. Why set up a romance, tear it apart in the sequel and kill off the LI in the ending? Bit much if you ask me.
If they are going to kill off a character to make it "emotionally engaging", it should be an important character but not one of the many LI options. I'm thinking along the lines of an Anderson.

I still believe in a happy ending, though 'happy' is different for everybody :)

I completely agree with your sentiments. I really didn't like how shady the dark ritual was and it felt like it was something that was going to come back and bite everyone in the butt if the archdemon got a "get out of jail free" card. That's why I think the Alistair romance is like watching the Titanic -- you can see that iceberg coming and no matter how you try to steer your ship, you just can't avoid the collateral damage. I thought I'd have a loophole with the drunk Alistair ending with the hope of being reunited with him someday and tah dah, there's no aftermath of the dark ritual to haunt the relationship, right? Right? Pfft. Sheesh. That door totally slammed in my face with DA2. =p

I really loved the ending of Mass Effect 1 where Shepard comes out of nowhere all triumphant and Kaidan just looks up with a grin, all proud of her. I want to save the universe and have my token armcandy adoring me. Please, no, scenarios like Spiderman where you have to choose between saving Mary Jane or a boatload of passengers with a bomb aboard. That's not fun. I dread this kind of tragedy, but my gut is telling me that I don't think they'd wrap up such an epic game on a disappointing note. That and there are too many romantic interests for them to write into that situation anyway. =p

I have seen all the endings in Dragon age, and the DR really leaves me worried. The archdemon is still around, with Flemeth out and about to. Way to many risks to take for my liking.

Many of my games end with the Redeemer ending really.
