I wish BW would give us the opportunity to go super-renegade and say f-you to the Council and the pro human agenda. I'm pro-everyone. There's no option for that, sadly :/

The votes have been counted and it was close for a while. But someone has to win.
I am happy to anounce that the Winner of the first ever Kaidan Alenko Prompt Project is....

Thank you everyone who submitted an entry and to all our voters. Teen, it's up to you now... What are we going to write or draw about next?
Exciting, isn't it?

And like I told Night, today was a rough day, so thanks to everyone for putting a smile on my face. It means more than I can say.

As for Kaidan, renegading him and the Council.
I admit that it pulls my heart in two when I try to go renegade (and take him with me). I'd be fine with it as long as it didn't involve him and here's why.
It's established early on that Kaidan is a thoughtful guy. More than that, he's a cerebral guy. He pays attention to politics and his career, and tries to stay true to ethics as well. He may be a bit isolated, but he's had a lot of time to give everything consideration and try to apply reason to everything.
Its kind of a waste for my Shepard not to utilize that-- or at least to listen, even if she doesn't agree. As she tells Ashley "For matters of the head I go to Kaidan. For matters of the heart, I go to you."
My Shepard is all about different viewpoints-- seeing as they make up for her deficiencies in certain areas. Why would she want to steamroll all that for a certain agenda?

I don't doubt that Kaidan will have some part in ME3. If Bioware remembers he exists, he'll be in the game. The fans are here to remind them of that.
But what if it's lackluster? I don't know how I'd feel if it was a letdown. If ME3 was a great game-- good action, great music, nice graphics, but no great Shenko scenes? Will any reunion with Shep and Kaidan be a letdown at this point? Four years of waiting will take a toll.
Tell me I'm being crazy, guys.

Wait wut? What did Liara say about Kaidan in her DLC???
Almost nothing. Just that she was sorry about Horizon. And only if you chose the renegade option...

Didn't someone pm a Bioware employee about this and get a response along the lines of "I can't say anything other than you won't be disappointed"?
I will be disappointed. There's no getting around that.

But at least I can play ME1 and drag Kaidan around with me through the vastness of outer space. At least, until the disc breaks, anyway.

i have to admit that would be my worry, too. i don't doubt it will be there. i've even convinced myself that a "happy" ending must be possible. after all, me1 and me2 had "happy" endings (shep lived, got the job done, and most all companions lived), so it would make sense the last one gave something similar. it is the possibility that some part i deeply care about (mostly the shenko, but also certain RP elements) will be pushed aside in favor of graphics and explosions.

I admit the only thing I disliked about ME2 is Horizon and like most I hope they will make it up for us in the third one. Honestly I don't think they will disappoint us in ME3, well they better not or they will have a handful of angry fangirls which wouldn't be pretty lol

Yeah it was a quick line from Liara about Kaidan, or Ash. But I think its important because it shows that the devs were, at least somewhat, currently thinking about Kaidan and they know that many are still thinking about the nasty experience on Horizon.
I rather suspect that they were thinking about how your Shepard was right and Kaidan/Ashley was wrong, and that generally assume that we all think along the same lines.
