No, I'm good B)

So I was touring the Normandy in ME2 today, talking to my crew, and I finally decided to chat up Jacob.

As I am posting this here, I am being loyal to Kaidan, so the ensuing conversation made me

I am aware this has already been discussed, probably several hundred times, but I needed to say something.

I am NOT hating on Jacob or his romance, just that my Shepard is practically throwing herself at the poor man, and it's very OOC for my vision of her.  Bioware is really trying to push me in that direction and it makes me sad. :crying:

It is far more about how Shepard behaves imo............... I think we have found Hale's Achilles Heel tbh!
I don't think nearly so many people would criticise the Jacob romance if Shepard had been more Shepard and less desperate.................. <_< Her behaviour makes me squirm!
ETA Top of the page Kaidan.....

I'll give you that one, but how many people don't even get to that bit because Shepard's cringeworthy behaviour makes them abandon the romance before it goes anywhere, I can't even bear that ''I'm more interested in just talking for a bit'', tone to get the ''spilling drinks'', on the Citadel tone? ;) (makes you want to watch from behind your hands, lol!

I'm just a bit miffed that even the renegade lines that look more tame than the overt Paragon lines result in things like "You won't put me off THAT easily, Mr. Taylor"

But back to Kaidan...

With ya on that. Shepard's cougar attitude made me hide my face in my bed. :P I'm sure even Jacob was... I'm not sure what word would be right to describe how Jacob might of felt.

It makes his personality 180 after Lazarus Station make sense.  XD

Jacob: "Miranda, your Frankenstein's monster is coming on to me again.  It's creeping me out.  Did you program her to do that or something?"  :crying:
Miranda: "She's missing her Alliance love interest.  Maybe if you stopped saluting so much, she might stop associating you with him."  <_<
Jacob: "But... I... you... You messed up, didn't you?"
Miranda: "Shepard is exactly as she was, damn it."  :pinched:

My husband eyes me up suspiciously when I am talking to Jacob and I'm all like ''Honestly, I am not chatting him up...................... I am just trying to be his friend''! I think most men IRL, would just assume Shepard is of 'negotiable virtue'!

So, who's for gracious butt shots in ME3? :o

I've been playing a lot of Halo Reach, and it has a lot of them. Mostly the male spartans. I have a new found glory for them. :P

Long time Kaidan fan and lurker. I never post on the threads but I had some amazing Kaidan shots that I just couldn't keep to myself. I had to post my two favorites. My ... "Shepard" is about to make Alenko a very happy man.

It's a little NSFW so I'll just post a link: social.bioware.com/uploads_user/2257000/2256274/61277.jpg

Yeah whenever Jacob appears on my screen, my bf just frowns a bit. After explaining the whole issue with Shepard and Jacob after the release, he now refers to him as "the prize guy" lol Really my bf could care less about the games I play and my obsession with Kaidan, he doesn't get it at all but enjoys seeing me having so much fun with them. But Jacob does manage to make him frown....or snort.....or just chuckle....so I guess that means Jacob is well written. I mean to trigger a response from someone who usually doesn't care about ME ....that's something :P

He has learned to deal with Kaidan though, has to look at the guy each time he sits down behind the pc but again it's all good, I'm a lucky girl lol

Oh, what I noticed yesterday in ME2 is that it seems everybody has that red glow to their eyes in certain lighting. I see it in fanfics a lot that the glow is used as something unique to Shepard, but really it's not. Well unless you're renegade terminator Shep ofcourse ;) Garrus, random Asari nr.3498 etc etc, they all have red lights at times. Even in blue light environments, not sure what it is. At first I believed it was Shepard's freaky eyes, but she's not alone..which gets you thinking....WHAT IF. What if things aren't what they seem and the world we see is filled with people created by Cerberus, eh eh eh?? :P If so, I want it filled with a lot more Kaidan...kthanks!

Then again I haven't seen red lights in Kaidans eyes yet, hmmm, now there's a twist for ME3...Kaidan goes into the matrix to save Shepard from Cerberus's claws. There are no Reapers, it's just a plot spawned by TIM to keep Shepard where she is...yes. Muahaha :pinched: Okay silly mood, what can I say

When i first romanced Kaidan and finally got the "before Ilos" scene i was like:
WOW Kaidan..............i never thought you gonna be so passionate.
I mean.........he was flirting with me but he was a gentleman. And then, he shows exactly how he feels about me
That kept me going.................all my 22 playthroughs lol
Jakob on the other hand...........
I lack to find any passion at all but maybe its just me having a crush on Kai

Shep lines dont help either.
I mean...seriously, im alive again and all that BUT its been only a month for me and im not THAT desperate or horny to throw myself at jakob.Even if my heart didnt belong to Kai all along

That guy must be "the something else" to make my Shep saying lines like that to him a few days after we met.

But Its not jakob's fault..............i really believe Miranda did it on purpose..........she did something to me while reconstracting me (since she wasnt allowed to put any chips on my brain) to ensure i would be loyal to Cerberus
I bet i would say the same lines even to TIM lol
Edit:  ok ive made my mind.i will throw myself to HB arms.........since he has the thing for me :innocent:
After all im a horny son of a b***

Lol, yeah my husband is not at all jealous of little pixel men, he watches me play games and says things like ''You going to have sex with him then'', in games like Fable II because of the way the villagers follow the hero around like love lorn teens making very suggestive comments. The way they talk in Fable makes him laugh and he mimics some of the comments really well.
He also has to see Kaidan on my laptop every day (I still have 'learning shirtless Kaidan', as my wallpaper) and knows how I feel about Kaidan in the ME universe, so I think his initial reaction to Shepard talking to Jacob was borne of a 'WTF', moment. Sort of a 'Why is Shepard being so flirty with this guy she doesn't know, whatever happened to faithfulness?'

It's funny how the same thing can be interpreted so differently by different people. To me it really seems as though Kaidan/Ashley are treated as favourites by the devs so far, getting the drama and real emotional connection that no other LI's are. My only concern for ME3 is that Kaidan/Ashley will be treated as the rest of them, that would really be too bad, but I can't really see it happening.

What I've seen so far (Shep's pining towards the end, Kaidans not being able to bear loosing her again) holds great promise for the future, and if only I get squadmate status for the VS I will be very happy indeed.

I don't think the devs play favourites. I believe they try their hardest to meet their fans halfway by listening to their wishes best they can. There was a lot of hate for Kaidan and Ash after ME1 was released, a lot of the comments back then are still fueling the same discussions today. The whole "ash is racist",  "kaidan is a boring whiner" arguement still stands it seems. People wanted more romances, more choices because the romances that existed were not to their tastes. The interest in Tali and Garrus really spiked and even though Bioware at first argued that romancing these aliens would be impossible plot wise, they managed to make it work as a fanservice. (I still remember Chris putting fans on a sidetrack where Tali was concerned, stating she lives in a suit for a reason etc) They even designed an alien male LI that 'should be attractive' to women, for their fans. (thane)

Kaidan, Ash and Liara were the original LIs, created to cater to a pretty much allround playerbase (although, sadly, the gay men got excluded but that's a different discussion). Their roles were already 'set in stone' as BW stated and since they are the only LIs appearing in the entire trilogy, ofcourse the romance will be more fleshed out if you will.
I believe their romance was written as a trilogy as well so I have no doubt we'll get the 'grand finale' of it in ME3. How big the grand finale is going to be remains to be seen though. And that's what we discuss a lot, in both a positive and negative way.
We've been waiting to continue the romance for two years, we got Horizon and now we have to wait a while longer and DLC after DLC Kaidan goes unrecognised, so the spirit drops every now and then.

I'm both excited to see where this is going as much as I'm scared it won't be going where I want it to go...:P

@Jen Fable ...don't get me started. I flinch every time my hero enters a village with adoring men. It annoys me and my bf finds it hilarious. Especially the horny followers <_<

I agree........................ except I think to be honest Liara isn't there for lesbians it goes like this -
Heterosexual men = 2 options (human or 'hot alien babe')
Heterosexual women = 1 option,
Lesbians = 1 option (not human)
Gay men = 0 options <_<
So as far as catering for the fans goes, everyone except heterosexual men got what I like to call 'The vegetarian option', on a menu....  Try this, go to a restaurant and pretend to be vegetarian, discount ALL the meat dishes and see what you are left with.......... Being gay, in this instance is equivalent to being strict vegan with some serious food intolerances <_<
What really gips me about Fable is when I can't get down my own stairs because of all the lovesick loons following me into my house, honestly, why hasn't Albion invented a lock that works on heroes houses..?

I actually got ME because ME2 seemed good, and then ended up loving ME alot more. And I do get where the fear is coming from, I'm not sure I would have survived waiting 2,5 years for ME2 only to be slightly disappointed and THEN have 2 more years until ME3 with no guarantee of getting the magic back. I'm just coming from a different situation, you know, and it's alot easier for me to be optimistic. Just wanted to spread the feeling of hope, and the sense that Kaidan and Ashley can actually be perceived as the LI's to be envied rather than the ones getting the short end of the stick.

Believe me, I will probably have more than one pessimistic fit before ME3 enters the stage, and when I do I hope that someone could remind me of the possible geatness ahead. Posted Image Right now I'm plowing through all the AMAZING fanfic available, and trying not to go crazy waiting.. You know the drill...

Ah, great to see someone who did it the other way around and feels that way about Kaidan and Ash :) Well your hope and positive attitude is always welcome here, that's for sure!

@Jen yes, Liara was never created as a gay option I believe. Bioware was really fanatic in stating there were no gay romances, but I can still imagine some were happy to see Liara anyway :) I never got that whole "Asari's aren't female blabla" stuff tbh.

But I agree with your post, even though I'm still in awe that there even is a vegetarian dish to be had. Not used to that at all.
