I agree........................ except I think to be honest Liara isn't there for lesbians it goes like this -
Heterosexual men = 2 options (human or 'hot alien babe')
Heterosexual women = 1 option,
Lesbians = 1 option (not human)
Gay men = 0 options <_<
So as far as catering for the fans goes, everyone except heterosexual men got what I like to call 'The vegetarian option', on a menu....  Try this, go to a restaurant and pretend to be vegetarian, discount ALL the meat dishes and see what you are left with.......... Being gay, in this instance is equivalent to being strict vegan with some serious food intolerances <_<
What really gips me about Fable is when I can't get down my own stairs because of all the lovesick loons following me into my house, honestly, why hasn't Albion invented a lock that works on heroes houses..?

No. Liara is not there to satisfy any f/f romance option. Liara is there to atract more male players.
Coz f/f is always hot and sells.

ok......im bad

I actually got ME because ME2 seemed good, and then ended up loving ME alot more. And I do get where the fear is coming from, I'm not sure I would have survived waiting 2,5 years for ME2 only to be slightly disappointed and THEN have 2 more years until ME3 with no guarantee of getting the magic back. I'm just coming from a different situation, you know, and it's alot easier for me to be optimistic. Just wanted to spread the feeling of hope, and the sense that Kaidan and Ashley can actually be perceived as the LI's to be envied rather than the ones getting the short end of the stick.

Believe me, I will probably have more than one pessimistic fit before ME3 enters the stage, and when I do I hope that someone could remind me of the possible geatness ahead. Posted Image Right now I'm plowing through all the AMAZING fanfic available, and trying not to go crazy waiting.. You know the drill...

Ah, great to see someone who did it the other way around and feels that way about Kaidan and Ash :) Well your hope and positive attitude is always welcome here, that's for sure!

@Jen yes, Liara was never created as a gay option I believe. Bioware was really fanatic in stating there were no gay romances, but I can still imagine some were happy to see Liara anyway :) I never got that whole "Asari's aren't female blabla" stuff tbh.

That would come under the heading of - 'Things you aren't meant to question', it goes in the same file as Quarian 'allergies'! <_<;)

If what you get is the food equivalent of Kaidan, you're really making salad sound appealing... Posted Image

But I agree with your post, even though I'm still in awe that there even is a vegetarian dish to be had. Not used to that at all.

I agree with absolutely everything you just said :D

I think this is the truth, though lesbian players benefit from it greatly. Liara has a cult following among f/f fans and a large portion of them aren't male. I know a lot of ladies were disappointed that Liara was the only f/f (some wanted Jack, Miranda or Ash) but they did get quite a bit more than m/m fans.

I honestly thought Thane or Jacob would end up being an m/m option in ME2 and was very disappointed when Zeschuck and C.Hud basically told an interviewer that Shepard wasn't canonically gay and that Liara didn't count as a gay option.

As is, they'll be lucky to close off all of the ME1 and ME2 romances in a satisfying way for every player. I will note that the ME1 romance players had promises of continuation; the ME2 romance players have had no such promises at all yet.

That is very true and also fairly significant that all ME2 LI's can die (deliberately not counting Liara as, DLC aside, she is not a ME2 LI)

I dont know how they did it on DAO with the m/m romance since i never play as a male but i believe they could just do a mild love scene with some male characters without provoking anger from the MMOs.i dont know..........just like a hug or something

In my eyes Liara is more female than me lol

so thats throwing their declarations out of the window
but thats my opinion ofc :)

Edit: Cheer up Ladies and Gentlemen.....at least we have HB to play around :D

If you go on youtube you can see that m/m, f/f and m/f are treated with pretty much complete equity.
BioWare's justification for ME is that Shepard just isn't gay. Which would be fair enough in a game with no customisation, it's their game, their call.............. But there is no real reason behind it other than (I'm guessing here) BioWare wanting to attract a mainstream male COD/MOH/GoW audience *shrugs*

Just had a mental image of the Turian air-quoted awesomeness  Really a lot of lines can be fed to that guy.

Meanwhile I'm playing ME2 and really trying to get every single thing done this time around. No frustration while playing anymore about the lack of Kaidan, decided to pretend he's in Shep's cabin 24/7, showering and stuff. It helps ;) Now if only he would feed those bloody fish :pinched:

''Ah yes....... 'Quarian allergies', we have dismissed those claims''
The secret to ME2 happiness is - don't buy the damn fish in the first place ;)

But an empty tank looks so....sad...hmm...I could throw Thane in there ofcourse. Or did Drell prefers dry environments? Oh well...the fish just died once ...so far...
What if we could replace the fishtank with something else...what would it be? Hmmm...jacuzzi? Or a workout station for Kaidan

So, what'd you do, Jho?  Hit him over the head and drag him away from Horizon?

I would have liked to see the love triangle between bisexual!Shepard, Kaidan, and Ashley.

It probably wouldn't have been vastly different than the Liara/Shepard/Kaidan one, but still...

... I guess it would have made Virmire suck that much more, though.  :crying:

Hello everyone I am here to remind you that the The Kaidan Alenko Prompt Project is in full swing and winding down.  You have about 24 hours before the Current Prompt creation phase closes and the voting begins.  We have some real great submissions.

If you want to participate don't forget to send me the link to your post.  You don't have to be a writer to enter... you can draw a picture, knit a sweater, puppet show, sculpt or do anything that comes to mind.  Then submit a picture or two or three (remember, if you don't know how to do something, that is what I am here for). Posted Image
Join us in the KAAS and have some fun.  Posted Image
Clothing optional.  Posted Image

(Remember, if you want to read the submittions and do not want to join the KAAS, you can always PM me and I will send you a PM with the entries.  Then you can vote with everyone else)
