As I said, I don't believe it is something as simple as oversight on Bioware's part - I could believe that if it only happened once but not twice, especially when every LI in ME1 and ME2 gets a nod in some way except Ashley and Kaidan.

Yeah, twice doesn't chock me that much. Sadly, small oversights came a dime a dozen in ME2. Still loved the game, but it was a bit sloppy. And what I'm trying to say is that BW did make an effort for us to remember Kaidan. They put time and money into it. They could have (should have) done more, treating them the same as the rest, but they did do that.

The fact that Bioware did not kill them off in ME2 when they had plenty of opportunities to do so is the only reason why I have some hope left. I'm not worried that Ash and Kaidan will not make an appearance in ME3. I'm just worried about as to how and as what.

I hear you. I'm starting to regret reading fanfic, because it's making me aware that ME3 will have a very hard time living up to my now insane expectations. Yeez, what they could have done with Horizon (reading "Just because Horizon was that bloody awful" now). Posted Image

I can see them doing that, actually. Posted Image

@Jho - thats just evil to even think of that, lolPosted Image

I can't believe I'm saying this given that I'm usually the queen of negativity, but we need to stop angsting over Horizon.  I know we don't have much to go on but I don't want to believe bioware would have made us go through Virmire and Horizon just to kick us in the guts in ME3.Posted ImagePosted Image

We need to think happy thoughts.  I'll start  Posted Image:

I agree completely - all those wasted opportunities. I think that is part of what makes Horizon so disappointing for me. Much like nearly everything else in ME2 it had potential but just fell short.

Maybe I'm wrong to be so pessimistic - actually, I'd love to be proven wrong by Bioware. With a high-quality DLC  for Kaidan and Ash and an important role in ME3 as a squadmate by Shepard's side, preferably. Posted Image

This has probably been discussed already, but...

What is Kaidan's pic doing on Anderson's desk? Is there something that Anderson isn't telling femShep? Kaidan did say he was trying to move on, but... :s

Another bug - I think someone said that it was supposed to show the one who died on Virmire.

Okay, to get away from the Horizon discussion, Kaidan mentioned he "dropped off the radar" for a while after BAaT - what do you think he did during that time and what convinced him to join the Alliance?

Thanks, Chignon! ...Now that was a serious bug - making us formulate all kinds of sordid conjectures! XD

LOL, I just did the Council scene last night, and Shepard was once again trying to figure out how to steal that pic off the desk.

I figure it's an easter egg, put there by the devs to have a laugh...it would be really odd if it were anything else.

Honestly, though, things like that add to my perception that the devs don't like Kaidan, and are making a joke (he's dating Anderson, teehee) at his expense.  If they don't enjoy writing the character, why give him a good role in ME3?

As others have said above, what worries me most these days is the lack of any acknowledgement of staying loyal in the DLC.  I see fans of other LIs getting extra bits of hope for the future in Kasumi and Liara's comments and the Shadow Broker's dossiers, and I feel more and more like I'm wasting my time hoping for anything good romance wise in the last game.

While I do agree with Sapphyre that sad endings can be powerful, and being single in ME2 was the best option for my Shepard, I don't think that Bioware intends to end ME3 on a downer...and I feel like all the other love interests are going to be at Shepard's side in the end, but I'm not too sure about the VS at the moment.  That's a deal breaker to me.  And yeah, it's just one aspect of the game, but I'm sure other LI fans would feel the same way if every LI but their own was guaranteed cuddle time and happiness at the end of the series.

All of this moping leads me back to the obvious conclusion...we need awesome, LotSB quality DLC asap!!!

BioWare can do an Alistair thing with Kaidan which is what I think they will do. Either he or we will disappear in the end and we won't be together. If this game like most games including BioWare are for the males with women as "a toss the bone" to group then when the men can't romance Kaidan then there is no use for him. Ash is okay until the men can get to some space babe then she is tossed. I so hope they will prove me wrong but I doubt it.

I honestly have high hopes for ME3 I strongly believe that BioWare have created a love story as much as a game and I think they will deliver! :-)

@Jho, I give short answers on Messenger btw because I don't have the 360 messenger kit (and all that typing on the 360 controller drives me insane!) It isn't because I am unfriendly, lol ;-)

Same here on both accounts ;) And again Bioware hinted at Indiana Jones, which ended with marriage...so I'm still confident we'll get a happy ending.
Who knows where it's going, but in the end I think all LIs will get the same 'generic' ending to the trilogy. Further more I can't think of any scenario where a LI would have to die to take down a fleet of alien ships. I mean DA had the archdemon/grey warden connection, so while that sucked it's plausible.

I'm going to continue thinking happy thoughts, after all we got enough doom and gloom in ME2 with actually dying and loosing a lot in the process. Shepard deserves a light at the end of the dark, dark tunnel :)

Haven't they also made references to Star Wars, and said that ME2 was the dark chapter?

They certainly have and that (according to Casey Hudson) they intend to bring some of the 'lightness', back in 3! :D

If i remember corectly they said all LI will be treated the same. Kiling the LIVS does not fit well. They could just say nothing about the LIs.
And frankly, all the ME2 LI can die. Jack maybe a sheps LI but died on my last playthrough. Thane the same. the only ones that cant die are the ME1 LI.
so they plan to have them back in ME3, big time i think. And if they want to kill them in a last standing alone/sacrifising myself for the shake of the universe role that means they plan to kill all LIs to treat them the same.
Or. as i said, they would not say anything at all about the equal treatment.
and not all pppl that bought ME2 bought DLCs as well. I never bought any DAO DLC.
and i dont care if theres not a mention in there about Kaidan. coz i just think whoever did it just didnt bother to remember the ME1 LIs.
And i do think they pay attention to their fans otherwise Garrus and Tali would never ben added as Lis.
And they DO know that fem fans are the most deticated fans they could ever had.

Ok....im in a good mode today it seems coz usually im negative lol
