I didn't know so many people disliked her.  I think she is well written and voiced.  The fact that she annoys me so much is evidence of that.  So, I think she is a great character it's just that she drives me crazy.

Bastilla is great, she just lacks an Alistair to make fun of her and take her down a few notches. You can do it yourself from time to time, but it's not as much fun. She could be a proper pain in the arse, but the character was very well made.

True.  I didn't mind her so much, of course my attention was always focused on Carth anyway 

If you really don't like her you can always intentionally fail to bring her back from the dark side (If you are a  bit of a naughty Jedi of course).

Whoa.  This thread is moving too fast for me lately, I blink and I miss three pages. 
Kaidan looks so sad and dignified wearing those bunny ears.  Like he's thinking "I will entertain you, if I must."
I liked Bastilla a lot, but I tend to like ****y/aggressive/powerful female characters in fiction. She had her issues, but for good reason, and I think she was very believable.  I need to go back and play KOTOR again, if only to finally experience the Carth romance, but she was pretty cool too.
As for the rewards for staying faithful to your ME1 love interest, I think it will probably be in extra/special scenes for the love interests, rather than material rewards.  It would be hilarious to see the uproar, though, from those who ditched Ashley or Liara moaning about not getting that 5000 iridium bonus.
Fort's Chakwas fic was disturbing yet...hot...I will never look at Medigel the same way again.

Except Carth is much more bitter and sarcastic than our Kaidan. (Though I  Carth regardless of his bitterness and sarcastic humor)

  The first time I heard Kaidan in ME1 I thought:
1st "Carth?"
2nd "I sure hope I get to romance him, he is cute and has the most amazing voice"

I did the opposite on my ME1 play through since I had played KoToR first.  I was half way through the game before I stopped adding "thank you Carth" mentally onto every conversation with Kaidan

It's the sarcasm I love, I'm fairly sarcastic myself and often when playing games I'm afraid to pick the snarky looking option because it's always delivered so seriously, in KoTOR I could deliver those lines and get a snarky response.  I adored Carth and it's also why I adored Alistair, but disliked Casavir, he was way too serious prob why the only LI I even remotely considered was Garrus because the dialogue was funny, but no I'd never cheat on Kai-Kai.

I toltally agree with the Han Solo thing  but then again I fancied his character too!
