Hopefully we can talk to him about it in ME3 (WHEN HE IS A SQUADMATE... ::intense stares in Bioware's direction::).  Isn't he the only squaddie we've had who actually has (confirmed) people on Earth?

So, if this British guy is a squadmate, what are the odds that they'll have two human males (or even 3 counting Jacob) on the team?

Yep, we're probably screwed as far as having Kaidan back is concerned.

I don't see how he could be a squaddie...he's on earth. Unless we make a couple of trips back and forth to earth after its been attacked...which makes no sense. Eh, too early to speculate.

Edit: I mean I don't see the British dude as a squaddie.

The guy looked like he was in really bad shape. The wound on his leg was from what looked like from stabbing himself with excess stims to help people.
He was shooting at what looked like a turian to me too.

EDIT

Okay, maybe it was actually a human or close to something more human. Looked turian the first time. Posted Image

Yes, in Vancouver!

I wonder if he's the guy that'll tell us the casualties on Earth and we have to balance our squad's casualties against civilian ones or something.

Either way, there better be Kaidans. And good, non-crappy, non-cameo, non-sharing lines ones >.>

@Batteries- Probably a husk

It'll be out in about a year.

Yeah I didn't think about the husks. More likely but it was too dusty to get a clear look.

My first thought was he took out a husk...but it looked like the husk had a weapon???

Something organic and indoctrinated.

Maybe he's not a squaddie at all. Just one of those people you meet at the beginning that eventually dies or he's just a random soldier...one of those few fighting it out before Shepard gets to Earth and keeps looking up hoping Shepard will come soon and finally end this one way or another...

In one save...I have 12 squad members. Either Bioware makes a new floor or people start sharing a room. I only need one more...and he gets a cabin.

I had assumed the British guy shot a husk, particularly given the way whatever it was charged at those people. Not sure if it had a weapon, though. Regardless, the British guy must have some kind of significant role in ME3, but I don't see how he can be a squadmate if he's injured and stuck on Earth while it's being invaded. Either way, I just hope we get Kaidan back.

Well, one of the clues was "red herring"...this guy may be the reference, if he's not a squadmate, and just a random soldier chosen to narrate this trailer.

It certainly acts like a husk.

Definitely no weapon, too. Thanks, Chem!

Also, British dude said something about the forces regrouping...I'm getting a Halo: Reach vibe here. Maybe he's the lead in a spinoff multiplayer about resistance on Earth?

I don't expect we'll see many, if any of the squad from ME2 back, but I'll still clinging to that last bitter hope that Kaidan will be.

I don't think there's any way that they will get rid of Garrus or Tali whether you romanced them or not - or any of the LIs. They're going to be there.

Not with any viable role, they won't. They can be killed. Game integrity will demand all variables be accounted for and you can kill them. They'll get a cameo and an email. And Kaidan/Ash/Liara were all LIs from the first game, remember.

I don't mind those characters. I liked them. Not in the creepy over-love way some of their fans do. I just want MY favorite character back. Dammit! I need closure! Well, preferably not closure. Preferably I'd get the relationship back, without any friggin' caveats. Oh he's here but he has to stay on the ship, or on the base, or he can't be in your squad, or he dies. Dammit, if Bioware gives him back to me and then kills him, that would be even worse. I would march on Canada. I would steal every last hockey puck, ounce of beer, and the cutest of their mounties. That's right. I went there.

Wouldn't that mean we get the same for Kaidan and Ashley?

I highly doubt they'll treat every romance equally, despite their claims that they'll do so. They said "don't worry" about the ME1 LIs and look where it got us.

Not necessarily. While one of them is always dead, the other is always alive. And they had the plot armor of being 'necessary' in ME3. Now whether that means squaddie or not is up for debate, but they'll be there. Things could have changed since the first game came out, but it sounded like there was always a definite role the Alliance Ally had to play in the series, not just the game, but the series.

Well, my FemShep canon's story will end at ME1, it seems.

I'm pretty sure they're going all Dragon Age with it.   Save the queen, you have a rachni army. Save the colonists, more will come to your aid in when the big bad comes.  Save the Council, alien races help.  Don't jilt your Alliance "contact" too badly you get Alliance help.

Yep, meaning that the VS will have an "important role" yet will be enough out of the way that they won't have to deal with writing too much for them.

Hmmm...much like the sequels to Matrix and Aliens, I will have to dismiss those claims.
