It crossed my mind when I first did Horizon but I try not to think about it anymore. If BioWare puts us through that I'll flip. Do not want. Ugh.

well its not all doom and gloom, say for one sec i am right (but thankfully for you guys i very rarely am) it might turn out to be some amazing rescue thing for sheperd, help the VS break free of the control, or some super darthvader moment, where the VS 'wakes up' and throws the proverbial emperor down the well. if you follow my rambling lol

I dont know if the collectors had enough time to do anything to him. It was just good luck they didnt get him. I beleive it just fits to the plan of....whatever Bio plans to do with the VS to just be saved and SAFE.

Which is what I said several pages ago.  (sorry RL is interfering with me keeping up.  It wouldn't surprise me, and I would not be happy!!!

that was my first choice as well. I do have a list of other sad songs too tho that fit to their situation
And the "Quest" for Shep's feelings suits me well.

I am an Ashley fan, not a Kaiden fan but given that I would be in the same boat in this situation, it is most definetly a NO. As others have said, we Virmire Survivors have gone through enough crap already without an arbitrary 'Kaiden/Ashley has now become a Reaper drone lolz' plot twist being added to the mix.
It's stupid and obnoxious and above all else, lame. Lame that we should have to recieve such an unfair treatment of our favorite characters that they end up having to be pushed into the plot as arbitrary villains.

There's logic against it of course, an indoctrinated person wouldn't have sent an email and how did the Collectors ever find the time to compress what is considered a long slow process that can take days or weeks or months of prolonged exposure to Reaper technology to happen.
But really, who cares? I hate the very idea of it. It's stupid.

That said, I'll be happy to see this plot twist only if Tali turns out to be secretly a spy for the resurrected clone of Saren, Garrus ends up having a crippling addiction to eating human flesh, Thane spreads his disease after all, Miranda betrays you for Cerberus, Jacob pushes you out the airlock, Jack leaves you for someone else and Liara was manipulating you from the start.
That way, at least, everyone gets screwed not just us. I see no reason why the crap should pile up for us, we have it bad enough already without the damn 'Reaper Clone' theory.

Honestly, I hate that too. It's better than 'having to kill them for they are the new evil boss' but still really lame. I mean come on it's basically saying that the only way anyone could EVER not agree with Shepard about something is because of sinister manipulations. How contrived would that be?
Why should any actual emotion of this whole situation between Shepard and the VS be compromised in favor of a random 'oh you saved me, obviously the evils of the reapers were what made me question your greatness for even a second oh mighty sensai'.

It would be really hard to do this whole thing justice without having it come across as contrived at best and self indulgent 'Shepard is so wonderful' at worst.

I'm sorry but the way I see it is that there is a thorn in the relationship with Shepard and the VS and they need to work out their problems and reconnect in whatever way they had before on their own terms. I think I speak for the majority at least when I say that's what people want to see, I see no reason why everyone else should get off fine and dandy but we get to deal with indoctrination subplots.

Again, sorry if I offended you, I meant no offence to you personally. It's just that I hear this so many times and each time the dread and fear that this might actually happen cuts me up inside.

Yes.  Unless  they make it where he was being used against his will and can defy them in the end...for me, of course.  If they pull another Bishop, I may have to go postal.

And I hope they give us a way to punish him for being such a butt.  Though, in reality, you have to think about what happened as being a very human way of dealing with that moment.  He had a long time to try and get over Shephard and was just starting to come to grips with it when all of a sudden, there she is....and she appears to be working for the enemy.  That would be quite a shock to see someone risen from the dead and seemingly on the other side of the law.  I think he was hasty, but it was understandable.  He didn't have anytime to process the information and once he did, he was sorry for what he said.

I still think we should be able to torment him a little for it though.

I'm going to chime in for a moment and say I agree with everyone else. I really don't want to think about Kaidan being affected by indoctrination or anything similar, and it's actually not as unreasonable as you'd think for Kaidan to have been left unscathed after Horizon. According to the mission summary posted here, masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Horizon_(mission) , the Collectors only got 1/3 of Horizon's population, so Kaidan/Ashley wouldn't be the only survivor of the Collectors.
