The comic comes after the opening cutscene, so they went with the stalker chick who recovers your body.
The humour of this makes me feel a little bit better.
But it still doesn't make any sense. "Oh, we give you the option to know Kaidan and Ashley through a 20-minute comic....then if you romance either of them, it's Liara who runs up to you at the beginning of ME2."
X does not equal Y in this equation.
Other way. First, crazy blue chick runs up to you in the beginning, then you die, then you get to meet Kaidan and Ashley, romance one of them, and make your face.
Yes, I just read the IGN article.
Okay, the placement makes a tiny bit more sense now. So the comic is in between when you die and the character creator.
For all the add-ons that PS3 players will get, they are going to miss some great gameplay from ME1.

Ash and Kaidan now have a total screen time of about four minutes in ME2. That's just lovely. Thank you, BioWare!
Great. :/
You know, it's ironic that the more I play ME1, the less I like ME2. A good game should age well, like wine. I should be able to play it a year and a half later and still get sucked in. With ME2, I was obsessed with it the first couple times I played it, and I couldn't see the flaws past all the glitter and pizzaz. Now, ME1 is inferior in terms of graphics, cinematics, and combat, but the more I played it, the more I loved Ashley and Kaidan. <3
BioWare had better make a kick-ass DLC for us.
Oh, and if they change the voice actors for Ashley and Kaidan in ME3, I will not buy it. I might rent it, but not buy it.
