I don't care what anyone says, Mass Effect canon says Shepard is a woman and she loves Kaidan. Anyone who says otherwise is a bosh'tet!

It's not so much about whether or not they'll be back - that's a given. It's how they'll be presented in the coming game. The LI factor seems obvious with the PS3 version and people not being actually able to "romance" them in ME2. Besides only Horizon. Which I assume to the casual player who never played ME1 will make them dislike the character because said character is yelling at them. Or very, very confused. Most likely will go on to a ME2 LI(including Liara, I'd say) since you can spend more time with one of them and get to know them better.
Which sucks for the VS.

At least none of the PS3 players will see Kaidan in phoenix armor. <_<

But hey, maybe when ME3 comes around, the presentation of them will make people say "Damnit!" and regret hating either of them.

If I were newcomer I'd keep one save especially for "that strange LIs who only call you a traitor" just to see what will happen. Sometimes I'm super curious and supper stubborn.



And it's long time I want to ask if it's the longest thread in history or not

Nah, the old Tali thread was over 10,000.
But at the moment, this thread is the longest character support thread and it has never been shut down. Or even warned, as far as I know.

Nah, the old Tali thread was over 10,000.

Oh, thank you. I knew Tali threads were locked several times, so what's the reason to ask. It's wonderful to see so many support towards to favourite character - last time I checked thread on local forum, it was 39 pages long while page relatively 1/3 lenght of page here.

There have been keep on topic warnings before but they were a long, long time ago and nowhere near as bad as the ones on the Tali threads but that's old news. Most people here, regulars or visitors share a genuine love of Kaidan, where as goading the Tali thread was considered a sport of sorts to some, or so it appeared for a while.



Anyhow here's to Kaidan as a love interest in ME3!

Well, people are allowed to choose the romance in the comic. This means that the ME1 LIs *will* have future content and that including the romances would be in the best interest to the story. I really don't see how Liara becoming the default 'running to Shepard' person is that much of a bad thing.

I see it as another stupid decision from bioware.  Nothing at all against Liara. But why?  Why not Kaidan? Why not Ash? Why not generic soldier # 4? Why not random tech reading info on a monitor # 6?

I don't think it's anything against Ash or Kaidan. I think it was for consolidation purposes.

To be quite honest, Liara has always seemed like she is the canon romance anyway, despite the fact that there is no such thing as canon in Mass Effect.

I always thought that if the movie is based off the first game, Liara would most likely be the LI. Shepard would most likely be male, too.

I understand the idea Fort. But that could have been done with generic soldier # 4 and random tech reading info on a monitor # 6.  While bioware might not have meant it to intentionally cause harm, neglect can cause harm also.

I still don't see why this is a big deal. Again, it was probably for consolidation purposes. It's only in the PS3 version of the game and the interactive comic allows for a romance (which then the VS will go to Shepard in the beginning).

 Much, much worse things have happened to the VS fans than them not showing up in the beginning scene. I'm usually the voice of negativity around these threads but this isn't neglectful or an "oops we forgot to mention the VS". IMO there's no reason to get upset about this decision they've made. 

And BW has said that there's more dlc to come; this has placated me enough. If this doesn't mean VS dlc, then we can get angry.

I'm totally crossing my fingers for a VS DLC; BioWare knows very well that we all are, and it's up to them to make it happen. I just hope they don't give us a half-assed piece of DLC like Pinnacle Station and call it the final DLC for ME2.

Fort is right, it's not such a big deal about Liara.



I think the bigger deal it that if you own a PS3 you won't see the deepness of the romance scenes and the payoff that you get at the end of ME1... I feel like the ME2 romance lovers got the small end of the stick, since they didn't get the culmination of the romance that we did. I am not saying it's bad, I am just saying it isn't as good as it should have been.

I moved out of a dangerous neighborhood in the city to the suburbs. That might have something to do with it. Maybe I'll be able to write more fanfic like I used to. XD

But seriously, this isn't the end of the world. Let's wait for the dlc announcements; if we are not appeased we can ride out in a posse and raise a rabble etc.
