So far I havent managed an ME1 game without romancing Kaidan.

I'm trying.. I have a FShep I set aside for Liara but I just can't seem to resist talking to Kaidan.

I couldn't even play renegade because being mean to Kaidan just felt wrong -lol-



You can say it.... I'm hopeless. Not at all obsessed though.... no.. not at all.

(I should say my poor MShep I deleted because I wanted him for Ash but I get to Virmire and well.... there goes that romance.)



I don't know how you guys manage to play other romances. Got any tips hehe

This has crossed my mind too. Except, I have an iMac. And yes, I have seriously considered getting windows for it JUST to get ME >.<

Am I right in thinking ME doesn't work under Windows 7? Because that would be unfortunate.

Yes it is not easy to avoid any romances in ME1. I did so once because I wanted to have a femshep for Garrus and hopefully Joker in ME3 without an earlier romance in the back. In ME2 you can say that both moved on, but I personally can't romance someone else in ME2 when I first romanced Kaidan - that doesn't fit to my Sheps and it would make me sad to do so, because it seems that Kaidan still has feelings for Shep.

I managed to avoid the Kaidan romance in ME1 without being to mean - if you in a really early dialogue (before he mentions Rhana) don't ask him about his past (I don't remember exactly, but I think he asks you if you have time and then you can say no or something similar) the romance is not triggered. Sadly, he won't tell you about his past and Rhana anymore, but you can still ask him about his thoughts concerning the last mission. But I think it is not as mean as in later stages.

I would really love it if you could romance Kaidan in ME3 if you stayed single in ME1. For the one of my Sheps, that didn't romanced Kaidan it was just not the right time to romance anyone in ME1, she was to busy and to kind of a career type to do so. But now things have changed and Horizon showed her how much she misses him.

The more I think about Horizon it becomes less sad to me - Kaidans reactions only show that he is overwhelmed with his feelings. Even if you did not romance him - it seems to me that he cares much for Shep as a friend. I am sure his reaction was only an outburst of his feelings and a kind of protection of himself (like: "see I don't care for you anymore, you cannot hurt me again").  The encounter with Shep was a surprise for him and I don't think that he had planned what he would say to Shep if he would meet her again, despite the rumors of Shep being alive. The e-mail shows that he lost his control on Horizon and that he feels sorry about that.

Tip for making Steam games work better in Windows 7: Install as an administrator.  It does not matter what account you are logged in with, in Windows 7 nothing will install with FULL administrative rights unless you turn off UAC or right-click the  EXE and select "Run as administrator."  Install Steam that way, and you should be golden.  That saves you from having to muck around with the shortcuts later or having to run in compatibility mode.

For ME1 it is really important to install the patch 1.02 if you have an AMD cpu - if not, the game will not start. But it works fine for me too under Windows 7 home version. Don't forget the bring down the sky dlc that you can download free - to play it (during the game accessible) you can get the key after registration of your ME1 copy.



But back to Kaidan: if Kaidan is reassigned to the Normandy in ME3 - where do you think he would then be located on the ship? Currently the crew and squadmates are always at the same point, maybe in ME3 they will wander through the Ship, but if not - where could we find him? Maybe in the CIC?

Personally, I'd like to kick Miranda out of her office/room and give it to him.  He needs his privacy to make reports and stuff back to the Alliance, you know?

I would have said Shepard's cabin, but I know my FemShep needs her space and, as much as she loves Kaidan, she would get irritated with SOMEONE ALWAYS THERE.  He can just come visit.
