Greetings Kaidan supporters. I typically play as a male Shep who romances Ashley - but I wanted to pop in and show my support for Alenko. Ash and Kaidan were my favorite squadmates in ME1. Hope to see a VS DLC sometime soon.
Aww, thanks for coming by! I lurk a bit in the Ash thread myself as she is one of my favorite characters and she gets a lot of unwarranted hate. <3

The letter is very open to interpretation, more so than Ash's. I see it differently, Sia, and don't think he "dumped" Shepard.
Yeah, I saw it as very "Kaidan-esque", while I'm not sure if Ashley's was completely in character. Kaidan always wants to have a way out...and he has no idea what is going on with Shepard (he doesn't know about the suicide mission) and he doesn't know what hold Cerberus has over her. So he's very cautious, even if she means a lot to him.
That being said, I really do want him to be less cautious in the last game. The galaxy is about to be destroyed, this may be his last chance to be with Shepard...I don't want to have to feel like the romance has been completely reset, if I'm going to have the chance at all...
It does make me mad that people assume that KAIDAN (or Ash) would assume that Shepard is single by the time they send the letter. I read a fic once where Shepard was furious that Kaidan had written "maybe when this is all over we can get back together again."
"MAYBE?!" Shepard fumes. Tantrum, ragequit, then boinks Garrus, I think.
Okay, not to gripe, but aside from Shepard looking like a three year old having a tantrum, any reasonable adult wouldn't just assume that Shepard would be single and waiting around for Kaidan like some dutiful wife. Wouldn't Shepard be equally mad if Kaidan had assumed her feelings still there and they could just pick up where they left off without actually asking her?
If any real life person had lost touch with someone and had no idea what was going on with them CURRENTLY, what the hell are we expecting them to write? For all we know Shepard woke up, saw Miranda and thought "I like women now"
Sorry to vent.
Had to chime in to the goodwill. LiamN7 is right, VS solidarity! I love Kaidan and Ash-- actually there are few Mass Effect characters I don't geniunely like. But Ash and Kaidan have a special place in my heart. I have savegames where I saved one or the other, so I'm just as curious to see where Ashley ends up in ME3 as I am for Kaidan.
Slightly off topic, but I scanned and saw no mention of this.
Did anyone else see the episode of Burn Notice with Raphael Sbarge in it? The Episode is titled Dead or Alive, I think, and Sbarge's role in it was rather meaty.
I was distracted the whole time by the voice which was yummy as ever.

Finally got KOTOR off of Steam today and have been spending too many straight hours playing it...
DAMNIT, CARTH. STOP QUESTIONING ME AND LOVE ME ALREADY.
I bought it the other week
I had to hear the voice again, what can I say.
It won't play on my machine tho
Its school holidays here until the end of Jan so no KOTOR for me.
Guess that leaves me week and weeks of romancing Kaidan...
What was I complaining for?!
About the Horizon etc...
I only recently did a full run through of ME1 - as in all the sidequests. I hadn't before so I didn't see all the Cerberus related quests. Now that I have my ME2 take on Horizon is a little different. At first I was just heartbroken /blush and totally wished it was different. NOW I think it is really well done. I have a much fuller understanding of just what motivates Kaidan/Ash; why they are SO angry. I think it is completely understandable. I don't think the Horizon reunion is wrong or needs to be changed - I think it is probably as realistic as you can be. (I do wish that I had better lines for my Shep tho o.o)
My point in this rambling (hehe) is it took a proper ME1 playthrough for me to get it. I wonder how the lack of ME1 with the Cerberus quests will affect the PS3 perceptions of KA/Ash. Will they even now how evil Cerb is or will it be more of a "ok cool I work Cerberus " and then "Omg Why do KA/Ash hate them so much"....
I just want Kaidan back in ME3... err... I mean my Shep wants her Kaidan back....

I know what you mean - however, I do understand it if people have good reasons for their Shepard to move on and handle the characters with the care and respect they need (like for example in Sia's Loved).

Nope, but looks like it is on Hulu. I know what I'm going to tonight! I mean...after doing Santa presents for my girls... Obviously that would take priority... I'm lucky my husband is so supportive of my habit. He even got me ME and ME2 for the PC because I wanted a higher def Kaidan...and I can fraps him...hmmmm.dirae wrote...

Also the Kaidan Alenko Prompt Project is running a prompt that is Christmas themed (because Juweee hates me).
Come read or *gasp* participate even... there are still some days left ... write or draw or photo or build something and post it.
We love it.
Here is a sample of what you will find...

Merry Christmas all!!!

The Story So Far:
"This is a real mess, Alenko." Pressly looked around the gore-splattered room. "If that girl of yours is involved with this – "
"She's not my girl," Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko, Chicago PD interrupted his fellow detective. "Shepard isn't anybody's girl."
"Right," grunted Pressly. "But she is your problem. And if her damn gang is mixed up with this…." Pressly didn't bother finishing the sentence.
Kaidan walked out of the room, leaving the two dead men to be cleaned up. If Shepard was involved with this, she'd get the chair. Two dead foreigners. Stiffs the State Department were interested in. This was big. This was bad.

I've been lurking in the threads for a few months now. Read all of the Ash and Kasumi threads, then started posting in the Ash thread.
Tried reading all of this thread first, but only made it to page 878 before I decided I'll probably never catch up. Seems like the cast of characters on here has changed a bit. What else did I miss?

Thing that really bothers me - where are all of this people who were on first pages? On first pages of first thread? I can understand from where the newcomers appear (I'm a newcomer, in a sense), but why can I recognise only few names going to the past? Where all the rest gone?
