Uh, no. That's not Kaidan. You must have him mixed up with some crappy fanfic character. "He wasn't a Turian to me, he was Vyrnnus." Kaidan doesn't hate Turians.

Atm I play DA:O again (when I have some time left) but as soon as I'm done (even so I really think Alistair is cute)...I have a meeting with a certain LT on the Normandy in ME 1...I played it so often and I don't get tired to let my Shepard romance Kaidan again and again...And I'm glad that I have so much screenshots of Kaidan, that, in case someone steals my PC one day will think I have a serous mental problem...lol...
Merry Christmas!
Im giving DAO another go, during my holidays now, heavy modded tho

About gift for Kaidan - this already happened once, at my 2nd ME1 playthrough. Start of the game, limited money, hard choice if to buy medium Scorpio IV for Shepard or light one for Kaidan.
Ah, btw, some guy in poll section offers Mary Christmas for everyone!

Kaidan got the colosus light armor this Christmas. I finally had a carry on game that had it from the start yay. My favorite on him. (I need a black and red santa hat to match!)

colossus armor gets all the love!! Personally, I like the predator x armor best. Overall superior stats and very soldierly looking. When Shep is hit on by Harkin it makes much more sense that he comments on "The soldier get-up" with something that's camoflage, instead of armor that any merc would don.
For the sake of chrismasty colors, I suppose Colossus armor gets a pass. I do like Kaidan in green, though. That counts, right?

I can't stop laughing every time I look at this pic; that face of Kaidan seems to be saying "Yes I put a Santa hat on and yes you're making funny comments, I know". Thank you so much for the awesome pic, wish I had it on my Christmas tree as postcard!
By the way, here in Spain we exchange presents on 6th January, the Three Kings day. So Kaidan still have some presents coming his way

The thing is, I am playing ME with a femShep again and I have reached this conversation with Kaidan, after the second mission, where he gets all in a twist about "cutting corners" and how bad that is.
Now, I've never quite understood this dialogue. Don't get me wrong. I really love Kaidan trying to help my Shepard, but I don't understand why he is assuming that Shepard would cut corners in the first place. Most of my Shepards are Paragons or at least Paragades. Is this directed mainly at a Renegade Shep?
Or is he talking about the Council? Or the Alliance? But when my Shep is challenging him and asking him, whether he thinks, she is cutting corners, he seems to affirm that, saying he wants to stop someone he likes making mistakes ("Child on a ledge" quote).
Or is this just a general fear of his (born from his experiences at brain camp)?
Sorry, if this has been discussed before, but the whole dialogue just always sits slightly wrong with me when I play it, and I would so much like to find a proper context for it.

I think it's both a general fear -- since he "cut corners" himself, too, when he reacted to Vyrnuus, and ended up killing him -- and a concern for Shepard. I play mostly Paragon too, and I don't think he was specifically talking about anything that had been done up to that point, but he worried that things could get out of control, even if Shepard had good intentions, like he did when he wanted to defend Rahna. That story was something he doesn't tell everyone, and he probably was worried that it would portray him in a bad light, but he told it to his commanding officer to let him/her know why he had the concern that he did, and perhaps letting Shepard know why he is so cautious in general.
I think some people interpret it as Kaidan not "trusting" Shepard to do the right thing, but I don't think he would have told the story at all if he didn't trust Shepard. I think he told it because he saw that they were in a dire situation, but they still needed to proceed with caution.

Grunt seems reluctant to grant any validity to such distinctions ("humans talk too much"), with the notable exception of accepting Garrus as a member of Shepard's crew/clan rather than simply regarding him as a turian. So I think Kaidan would talk rings around him and he just wouldn't care.Pacifien wrote...
What philosophical debate would ensue between Kaidan and Grunt about their dislike of one Turian/all Turians?
I do like Grunt, but patience and forethought don't seem to be special strengths of his. (He is just a kid, after all. A kid who can kill a thresher maw, but hey...)
PS: Just saw this from Wynndfae on DA.

The conversation starts with, "try to leave yourself a way out" and ends (with the neutral dialogue) with Kaidan admitting that cutting corners is probably inevitable. If you look at it backwards, it might make a bit more sense.
I translate it more or less like this: "We're going to have some hard choices ahead and I don't like it; I'll be there for whatever support and advice you need, but until I know more details, I can only advise that you try not to cut off your escape route once we're in the thick of things."

The Council has been impeding progress every step of the way and the Normandy is basically hanging out there alone. Their mission is so covert that there's nobody there to back them up. He wants Shepard to know that he's there for him/her (his dialog with romanced femShep shows this more but it is there for dudeShep). It's not an accusation so much as it's a cautionary tale.

My squad in ME1 (ALL Shepards & classes) was Wrex & Kaiden (and I always save him on Virmire MaleShep or FemShep LI). In ME2 Gunt goes everywhere (minus a couple of loyalty missions) because he LIKES killing for Shepard and has the best lines (with Jacob, Zaeed or Jack). And yeah he IS a BIG indestructible kid.Estelindis wrote...

What would I get Kaiden for Xmas? A front row seat for a full contact NHB fight between Grunt & Garrus after Garrus disappoints Shepard and turns on Grunt. Shepard HATES Turians, Kaiden hates Turians and Grunt HATES Turians, plus if "Garrus is to weak to fight, he doesn't deserve the kill" (Dr Saleon if you take Kaiden & Wrex and not Garrus, he just pouts). Then bring on the Pykaks.
My hopes after ME3 for the next series is, "Mass Effect the Adventures of Grunt" (now THAT BW can make as a SHOOTER/action/rpg).
