I was wondering, Remember the character trailers we go for ME2 promotion
example: Miranda: The loyalist

what do you guys think would have been in a Kaidan 40sec character profile? What do you think the title would be? What would he have said? Assuming he was one of the people Shepard was trying to recruit in ME2 obviously.

I'm not sure, but if Kaidan actually makes it into marketing this time, I will be SO happy.  I remember walking around Manhattan when ME2 came out and seeing those posters everywhere, and wishing there had been that sort of thing for ME1...sigh.  I'm far too old for video game posters, but that would not stop me...

Put it in a nice black frame, it could join my Star Wars posters in our game room.  Like this one:

The Sentinel: We're going to need a bigger boot.

  I want that as a poster now.  Possibly even more than I want a nice romantic one.

Or, maybe not.  Shenzi does good work.  She should go give the BW store some advice. ;)

Of course they're going to make a Mass Effect MP game.  I'm just not going to play it.  I hope it does well for BW's sake, but the only person I've ever met who could put up with my lack-of-skill-set in a shooter for a multi-player game is my brother-in-law.  Who doesn't, to my knowledge, play ME.  Silly man.

I suck at CoD anyway, but starting the morning with some guy calling my 10 year old cousin a c*** isn't exactly ideal.
A shooter with a campaign could be fun, but multiplayer has to take over everything... :pinched:

Moar Kaidan. There needs to be moar Kaidan.

Goddamnit, pixels or not, I'm holding to it that more nice guys that don't worry about the length in their pants actually exist on this planet in this dimension!

MMORPGs are only good when you play with friends and stick with them.

Yeah, I was in a WoW raiding guild from the beginning, and thought that I would have more fun going casual...nah, I quit soon afterwards, because I missed the social interaction and seeing endgame content.  I will probably feel the same way about The Old Republic.

But any ME multiplayer game will not have a very, very important element...

I think they'll have trouble putting togther a multiplayer game, unless it's set before the events of the final game. If what they say is true, there will just be too many variables for what the Mass Effect Universe could be like.

Multiplayer games don't appeal to me much anyway. Perhaps it makes me seem like a grouch, but... I play video games to get away from people, not to interact with them more.

Nope I understand where you're coming from. I like Cooperative games however I like single player games to be just that.

@TeenZombie, I doubt Kaidan will be in any marketing, esspecially if we don't get any femshep marketing, which we never have. Its always Hero, hot girl and cool alien, trailers will probably have Ashley if the VS is included in any. However I think something like a character poster in the merchandise store might have a chance....hmm maybe...maybe

I distinctly remember them shutting down threads in the old forums that asked about multiplayer. The devs would consistently say, "Mass Effect is and always will be single player. It will never be a multiplayer game."

So, if they go back on that promise, then we can be sure that they'll go back on others as well. I can't trust a company that has EA controlling them, unfortunately.

@Fort: ME3/The Shepard-trilogy won't be multi-player, I'm sure. Which is what I thought they were always shutting down speculation/spam about. I tended to just skim the old ME forums, though, so I suppose it's possible they never specified.

I do still think they're working on a spin-off though. Which will either be primarily MP, or have an MP aspect.

@Fortune
hmm I expect them to go back on some things, or not fulfill certain things as I expected. Mainly on small things e.g. like being rewared in some way for staying faithful I don't expect anything much tbh.

However things like the ME1 characters being held back because they're important I expect to see something come of that.

Also way off topic, but people keep going on about EA being a problem, I don't know anything about them..why are they such a big deal?

EA has been known for buying smaller studios and either dictating what to do to them or running them into the ground... sometimes a combination of the two.

The thing is, with a mega-corporation in charge of the franchise, they have to do whatever EA says. If EA wants multiplayer, they make it, despite making promises opposite. This could apply to anything BW has promised, including romances, adding more rpg back to the game and others.

I expect if there is any MP for ME3, it will be like the MP for the CoD series. Independent of the actual campaign.

That being said, let's talk about Kaidan again instead of MP/EA.

@Fort Ok thanks

Back on topic. All I want is Kaidan back in ME3 in a signifcant role please like how Liara appears to be. And hopefully back on my team. Really want my male shep and his bros back Kaidan/Garrus then for me it will really feel just like old times, considering I pretty much just had them on my team ALL the time in ME1.

Also would you guys prefer Kaidan in a significant role vs no real significance but a squadmate.

Of course I hope for both but if I had to chose, I'd go for SM it would be disappointing like he was held back in ME2 for nothing, but having my favourite trio again =D can't be beat.

Depends on what "significant" role means. If it translate to having a badly written cameo and later throwing himself in front of a Reaper to save Shepard, then I'd take Kaidan as a squadmate over that any day.

More like essential to the plot. Something that would only makes sense for the VS to be doing. Like Liara becoming the Shadow broker or her leading you to ilos.
Anyone could die for Shepard and I hope the VS does not =/

I know... We've already lost one, I don't think I could take being forcing to lose the other.

Considering the quality of the plot in ME2, I'd rather take Ash and Kaidan as a squadmate.

I like to think that EA has learned from their past mistakes with regards to trying to force creative control on their studios. For instance, notice how BioWare is still BioWare and not EA RPG Studios or something stupid.

EA wants continual revenue more than anything else. For this type of game, DLC fits that bill better than multiplayer would. Adding multiplayer adds huge development costs and risks damaging the image of this IP. DLC does not. And let's admit it: we're all suckers for DLC here.

@Shoko86's bad ass picture. I was just thinking about how much I prefer the original squad to ME2 huge 12 man squad. It was just Shepard and 7 others against a synthetic god and his minions. ME1 just seemed more desperate. If they had been a second to slow the galaxy as they know it would end. It seems to me the ones who was there from the very beginning should all have huge roles in the end. Especially one in particular xD

I like that picture. I'd love for there to be shot of you with all/most of your old team (minus Wrex he died in my playthrough) in ME3. Or more on topic another scene with you Kaidan like what happened with Ash on the citadel. However just you and your LI reflecting would be nice =)
