Kaidan's a full Commander in ME2. Someone please correct me, but isn't it a bit unusual to be promoted twice in two years? I wonder what the story is there. Joker and Chakwas were Reassigned to Antarctica, but Kaidan seems to be doing well for himself.
I figure Kaidan for the type to throw himself into his work while he's grieving. Rather than think about Shepard, he'd work himself to death instead and earn a few ranks in the process.

Unless you're Ash... In which case, you still get held back a bit, maybe because of your family history and maybe because of your tendancy to, well... speak your mind

I think Kaidan was also older when he joined the Alliance, so it makes sense to me that he was promoted a little more quickly, even though he hadn't necessarily 'done the time.' All that RL experience should count for something. And being part of the team that brought down Saren had to have played a part as well.
Or, maybe the promotions were an attempt to shut him up? Get him to a point where you can just send him on random solo missions or hide him behind a desk?

Did anyone else feel a sense of satisfaction watching Lilith being turned into a smoothie? I was like, "oh no i better get you ou-- oh its you..." *watches her die*
Yeah. I think it's safe to say that a certain level of satisfaction at seeing Lilith dissolve has been expressed here.
I've never understood it, myself. If Lilith was interested in Kaidan, she's also interested in Ash in playthroughs where she's the VS - because she gives Ash the exact same look.
Given what Kaidan fans are like, I just hope that Yoeman Chambers NEVER dares to express interest in Kaidan when he comes on to the ship.

I'm I the only one who really felt bad for her? I think she is just a place filler so Kaidan isn't talking to himself. Besides, would any of us not also be eyeing the hell out of Kaidan? I know there are a few who think she might have been the Doctor Kaidan mentioned in his letter. If that is the case then I feel horrible for Kaidan, every woman he has been involed with either shuns him or dies horribly. Poor guy can't get a break when it comes to the ladies.

The difference between Joker getting grounded and Kaidan getting promoted boils down to following orders. Evac was underway and Shepard ordered Kaidan to go. He went. Joker refused to leave until Shepard gave him a tongue lashing.
Kaidan's also gotten 12 special commendations by the time ME1 starts. It seems like he's definitely one to work extra hard so the double promotion could easily be explained.

I'll admit that when I first saw her, I totally thought she was eying him up. Despite this, I knew that she wouldn't stand a chance if Shep was there so I didn't worry.
Lilith smoothies have been kind of a joke around here tbh. I don't think we're that serious about celebrating her being melted into a puddle of collector smoothie.

I felt bad for Lilith. The first time I played ME2 I had some squirming feelings of "HEY, leave him alone you... you HUSSY!" but then I chilled out and realized that even *IF* she was a single woman interested in Kaidan, she would have no hope of snaring him once Shep re-entered Kaidan's life.

To be fair to her -she's female and breathing so, how she could help giving Kaidan the eye? ;-)

I always assumed Lilith was involved with Garage guy (can't recall his name) - he's very upset she's missing and mentions her by name.

Especially if she's involved with - ugh - garage guy.

I would have given anything if there had been a renegade interrupt to punch Delan (the garage guy) in the mouth when he says the "of all the good people we lost" thing to Kaidan.

It's the third one down. http://in.88db.com/d... Casual Wear/1/
Now when he's not in the buff in our cabin then this is might work as sleepwear (Yeah like he's going to be getting a lot of sleep when we get him back) http://www.cosplayfu...rom Gundam Seed
If the jacket was closed up this would look really nice.

Look down to the Livery one on this page.

Now here is an idea for you talented people how about a 2011 calendar of Kaidan?

I already disliked Delan when Shepard first met him but that was definitely the last straw.

Now I think of it - if Lilith is involved with garage guy, and she is giving Kaidan the eye, then he's speaking out of jealousy. He has no other reason for being so snide imho. I won't feel so bad about imagining him flying through the air due to accidental discharge of throw now :innocent:

I'm wondering where the info on how many times they have been promoted comes from? I know Kaiden is commander now, what's Ash? Kaiden was a higher rank than Ashley in ME1 so is it not just the case that they've both had equal promotions, maintaining this difference of rank that already existed?
anyway, I really hope that he is on the team for ME3...
The info about the promotions is based on the in game codex entry on military ranks (a copy can be found here masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Codex/Humanity_and_the_Systems_Alliance about halfway down the page). in the first game, Kaidan was a Staff Lieutenant and by ME2 he was a Staff Commander which according to the codex is 2 ranks up whereas Ashley was a Gunnery Chief in ME1 and an Operations Chief in ME2 which is only 1 rank higher.
and we all hope he's on the team in ME3

I dig the ones in orange and totally not because orange is my favorite color.
Both remind me of a racing outfit a bit.
Jacob's redesigndidn't strike me as much since I never played Galaxy. I only saw what he looked like there close to ME2 release to after release...one or the other.
Reaver well.. ahh... went from this to ....what is this i don't even
I don't know what to say.
ETA - I felt bad for Lilith, I would have liked to save her, that way IF she did have feelings for Kaidan I could b*tch slap her....................... Not really, but still! Anyway, I doubt the feelings were returned even so.

Nope, definitely not. I can't stand to see/hear people suffer like that. I always skip that scene; watched it once, gave me nightmares, never watched it again.meonlyred wrote...

I think I'm getting used to it now, it was just a bit of an eye popper when I first saw it.
I see what people meant about the "heart" shape now too. Ironic to me.
Lilith dying didn't really faze me much. Didn't like watching someine turn into goo yeah, but it didn't last past the point she was gone. Then it was more like "FUUUU YOU RUINED MY AHCEIVEMENT JACOB".
