I really hated those choices. I could find the romanticism in options #2/3, but never in option #1.That wasn't romantic. And the way you talk poor Alistair into doing it, it was a shame. #1 was pure, unadulterated selfishness (and I freely admit that I chose that for my primary DA:O character).

Loghain has yet to live in one of my games. Even though Howe was the big villain in my eyes of the two, if I get my revenge - Alistair should get his too.

I'm surprised that anyone cared for Casavir or Bishop, never mind one over the other.  The only characters I found at all compelling in NWN2 weren't romance options (Khelgar and Neeshka, who I guess was sort of a romance).  Also on the subject of Neverwinter Nights 2: this which incidentally has its own TV Tropes article.

In other news, I had a shocking revelation last night.  Playing through as a Paragon Infiltrator who constantly expressed interest in Kai Kai but always put business ahead of *ahem* business (this includes pre-Ilos), I was wondering how the post-Horizon email would change.  Well... turns out it doesn't.  So either the night that I told him "bugger off" means everything to him (and maybe to me), or something happend that I'm unaware of. Is this perhaps why he was standing so awkwardly close the whole time?  Not that I'm complaining mind you... :innocent:

In other new: hot damn Michelle!  Very, very hot damn.

Yeah I mostly chose door number 1, but always thought that the fact that he had slept with skank would eat away at my warden's mind until her head exploded and it would have eventually torn them apart - but maybe thats just me

I did it once for the achievement but reloaded the save to keep Alistar.

Of course, none of the options matter because it ultimately boils down to:

a) Die a hero

Live and get horse whipped by the other Grey Wardens for letting a new Old God be born with a likely 13th blight added to the list instead of a 'mere' 12.

I think it was the fact that I saw the other ritual scenes with Loghain and MalePC and they were exactly the same(remind's me of Horizon). I mean if the male PC romanced Morrigan he's not going to be upset at being with her is he and there you see Allistair with the same expression and posture...one person said he should have been at least throwing up or something...I tend to agree.

I would not call the human noble female "non-sacrifice" ending a "fairytale" ending, unless you're talking about the old school Grimm/Perault/Andersen fairytales where the little matchstick girl froze to death and the little mermaid died mute and alone. Yikes.



I don't need that kind of ending for the story to be satisfying, nor do I need or want a Disney princess wedding. Just an open ended final scene with Shepard and her love interest looking towards the future. That would be perfect, IMO.

The only hot on the thread right now is the Kaidan pic...that's Jho's creativity not mine...well the pic anyway...the image that's now  seared into my mind from it now belongs to me(and I will do with it whatever I want)....muhahaha!

That's interesting about not having the Ilos love scene and still getting the email and it being the same...it just sound sloppy on Bioware's part. Another one of their cutting corners perhaps or a lack of attention to detail. As much as the fans check out every detail of these games you'd think they'd be more careful.

Glad I didn't have that one installed. I usually do in the Bethesda games but it never even occurred to me for DAO.
