She said it was a mission.

I really doubt that it's something as trivial as makeup. I'm 97% positive that it has something to do with Thane.

Well that's fine, but I won't pay for it. Thane said he was dying, I'm gonna keep him to his word

Could be free if they want to include Thane in ME3 as much as possible.

So far, I feel like the ME1 LI fans have been completely thrown under the bus. <_<

Even free they can keep it...this is one femshep player a "cure Thane" mission quest will not make happy.

ETA: I'd pay for a Kaidan DLC though.

Doesn't really feel that way to me.  From a dev. Q&A:

WhisperPiano: By now, we are aware that most of the characters from the
first game have been given greatly reduced roles, including the three
potential love interests. While the new crew is intriguing, many of us
are irked by what appears to be a disregard for the personal subplots
through which each of our Shepards' stories were individualized. My
question is: wil those of us who choose to have our Shepards remain
faithful to one of the original romance options be able to come away as
satisfied with the roma...

CaseyH-ME2: WhisperPiano - this is an interesting question that we see a lot. Here's our take...

CaseyH-ME2:
While Mass Effect fans have grown to love our characters, you can
imagine that after spending years crafting them, we have at least as
much of an attachment to them. So it's definitely not a case of the
team disregarding player's decisions with them or interest in those
characters - in fact, it's the opposite...

CaseyH-ME2:
We actually want to make sure these characters survive the ME2 story,
which ultimately is a suicide mission: some of your crew will almost
certainly die. Some of the ME1 characters are back, and recruitable
(more than you might think), and the ones that aren't still play an
important role in the story and will be around for ME3 - which we can't
say for the new characters.

On an unrelated topic, I thought I remembered from some conversation in-game that Thane still had a few years in him (like 10 or so).  Can anyone confirm/deny that?  Makes curing him seem rather non-essential to keeping him around for 3.

But will we get anything in between with the two year wait? I hope so. They're going to have work to keep my interest in ME3 at this point.

Its a strong hope, cus they said, basically, that the ME1 crew were indesensable, hence why they wheren't in ME2 as they couldn't be killed off...

Of course, given ME3 is the last in the series, they don't have to listen to the ME2 fans as much cus its not like they've got ME4 to sell as well ;)

Well, I'm a patient person... most of the time, anyway.  Would getting something in between make me squee for joy?  Absolutely!  Would it be a guaranteed key to my pocket book?  You bet!  But will I be counting down the days to ME3 either way?  Yes, I will.

12 sequels later it's going to turn into a Robert Jordan series and they never will be able to resolve all the story lines.

Mine work much the same way. Hugs seem to be the main theme at the moment - something happens and I think "Shep could really do with a hug right now", so I have to write a way for her to get one! From Kaidan, of course. Poor girl, she's going to have far more angst in ME2 when he's not there.

16th June.    Yay - a fellow Gemini!

Another Gemini here! (June 20)

@ BECC4 - I commiserate. I love my jeans and haven't had to wear a suit or dress since I decided to change careers a couple of years ago.  Had to buy a dress for my husband's company holiday party this year.   It looks fine but haven't worn it since. Every time I look at it I think about how I could have spent the $$$ on something I'll actually wear regularly.  Of course since I spend a great deal of time sitting in tiny chairs or on the floor with kids it doesn't exactly make sense to wear a dress!

Actually, I know the person that asked that question ^_^

It does feel that way for me still. Ash and Kaidan were given almost the same exact lines. After everyone freaked out about the ME1 LIs not being squadmates, Casey was saying how important they were to the story of ME2 etc.

In the meantime, Chris Preistly and Stanley Woo were warning us that they had extremely small parts in ME2.

Guess who turned out to be right?

Honestly, I worry that they'll still be cameos come ME3 and in particular, the roles of Ashley and Kaidan will become so interchangeable that their dialogue will be almost the same. I find it very hard to trust someone on their words alone.

This is what I think too. ME2 fans can suck it, because I want ME1 character's back in action. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie] I then  will space Jacob, and Miranda. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png[/smilie]

No-no, Shepard's story ends in ME3 - they said they are going to do more ME games, but they won't be focused on Shepard. Could be interesting, like... ME: Merc, or ME: C-Sec... we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

Wow, you mean I'm not the baby of the thread?  I turn 21 in August.

You guys are making me feel old - my son just turned 18 today

No, no... you're not old.  Say that out loud, several times as necessary.  If you were truly "old" you wouldn't be playing games, sqeeing over Kaidan or posting in this thread.   If you were truly "old"  you'd think this was a silly obsession and not be able to understand why or how anyone could waste their time this way!  Posted Image

Did you guys see the thread about Christina Norman's twitter post?

My guess is that it's a Thane cure mission. Cool for Thane fans, but I wonder if they'll remember those of us with an LI that we saw for 5 mins. Will it be yet another cameo?

Haven't seen it, anyone have the link?

It's a mission... to the Salon! Or... the mall! Hmmm but my Shepard has the tendency to shoot anything that *squees* like a tween girl. This will be a tricky mission indeed.

Not sure what the twitter earlier was about - just apparantly that femsheps would be very happy.

Of course first thing I thought of was Kaidan dlc, but the general consensus on the thread about it seemed to be that it was something to do with finding a cure for Thane. Wouldn't make me happy - I don't give a rats about Thane

Me neither...if it would make femsheps happy maybe they should look on the boards and see why they are unhappy...I think that the Kaidan thread has more support than the Thane one.

Biwoare may still be deluding themselves into thinking that since Thane was designed with female femsheps in mind that we all just squee with joy over anything to do with him. Posted Image

Still not getting that one. Maybe it's the tears. Hmmph. No wonder they made Jacob so cheesy, they had to counter Thane.

sorry to anyone that actually likes Thane but that memory thing of his just really creeps me out, although Thane just creeps me out in general.  Only LI character I like in ME2 is Garrus but not as an LI - he is more like my sheps younger brother who needs her to hold his hand to keep him out of trouble.

*grins*  In my business we'd say he's having a flashback and be working with to help him process and integrate those memories; work through his PTSD.

I believe he's got a year AFTER he starts showing symptoms.  And it could be a while before he starts.  Plus there are treatments which he's opted not to take since he wanted to follow his dead wife.  If you romance him, he ends up wanting to stick around for you.  (I haven't romanced him yet, just visited the Thane thread.)

So, no, not urgent.
