I went renegade but I got the med bay upgrade before Horizon. She had to look purty for Kaidan.

Did I mention that this is the same Faith Shepard from Parallax? :wizard:

Awesome, it's cool being able to see the character from the story.  I sprung for the plastic surgery for my renegade Shep too, but she's kind of a partial renegade character, I've thought about creating a totally evil Shep who recruits Morinth and keeps the scars, so I can pretend I'm a Sith Lord.  But my characters all need to be purty for Kaidan too, so I don't know if that will happen.

Hahaha...I can't either....not even in a game.

ME has changed my life for the better.  Today, I saw some lady obviously confused in her car, rolled down my window, and gave her directions.

And to myself I though,  side mission complete.  Paragon +5

ME, changing the world for the better, one gamer at a time.

I actually left the scars on my Shep until after Horizon - sort of hoping that Kaidan would notice them & realise that she had been through some pretty rough sh*t. Unfortunately the writers let me down so it has to be in my imagination.

Or at the very least use my glowy Sith eyes of doom to scare Kaidan into submission.

Shep: "Now GET ON MY SHIP!!"
Kaidan: "Yes ma'am!"
Shep: "And go to my cabin... and strip to the waist!"
Kaidan: "Uh.. what?"
Shep: *glares*
Kaidan: "On it!"

I actually liked the middle response better.  Still not exactly what Mia would have said, but at least it's not as inane as "How've you been?"  How the hell does she think he's been?!

Now that I've played that scene again the How you've been comes off better because it could be my imagination or someone having suggesting this on the forum before, but Shep does seem uncomfortable when saying it, like she's not sure what to say and how he's going to react, and then it's totally inadequate and blows up in her face. If I think about it pretty sure I've said and done something similar before..
:pinched::lol: I hope I'm not trying to excuse BioWare, I do wish they'd written the encounter differently, but I do see that particular line in a new light now, and it gives Shepard a human flaw.

It's a tough situation really since you can read a lot of extra detail into it if you want to, but some of it seems so shrouded that it's hard to tell whether BioWare actually intended it or it's more just a handwave to set people free to explore new love interests, while still leaving a hint that the old one can be continued later.

I've pretty much come to terms with Horizon by now; as I figure, Kate never really got around to put her mind into having been dead - sure, people say it, but throughout both Mass Effect 1 and 2 there's this general impression that she's the sort who deals with the present, "the mission", first and leaves sorting out loss/grief/emotional woes for later. In fact, with Joker, Chakwas and Garrus all around, I think to a point she was falling back into old motions and could almost pretend to herself she never died for two years and the rest of the team are just temporarily away somewhere.

Of course, Kaidan proves her wrong, but hey. Also, of course, it might just be because I have the scene of Kate looking at his picture in retrospect; I loved that scene.

I agree.  This is pretty much the way I saw it, as I mentioned earlier.

Working on editing my fic to my satisfaction... may post tomorrow if all goes well.

I really struggled in my renegade playthrough of ME - just felt too out of place to me & of course I couldn't bring myself to be mean to Kaidan, lol.  It was the same for my maleShep - just felt wrong, plus I kept just wanting to go & hang out with Kaidan lol.

In ME2 I'm mostly paragon but I do pick some of the renegade options.  One in particular really annoys me - on the quest to recruit Samara where you come across the asari eclipse merc (Elnora?) - you've already been told that they kill someone to earn their uniform, yet the paragon option is to let her go after swallowing her lamearse story about just pretending to shoot.  Hell, shep may be a nice person but she's not a gullible fool.

Yeah, if you open all of the terminals on your way to the big boss you find out she was the one that killed the volus.

You deduction right there is why that particular asari is finding peace in the embrace of the goddess.

Me, I tend to play a renegade who's heart is in the right place.
I'll rough up the bad guys and talk bluntly but where it counts I show kindness.
It's good that BioWare allow that kind of flexibility, though I end up looking like a Sith Lord anyway.

Agreed! It felt out of character for Shepard to me she doesn't seem like the ruthless type. :) When they did the ruthless things in the games it just felt off  for her character. She can be a bit ruthless when she needs to be.
However,  in this type of world their is no fun in  being ruthless to people. Which leads a very lonely life for a person .

Samara quest that Elnora chick is what bugged me about the paragon side of this quest. My shepard is not that gullible. I didn't buy Elnora story either, and that is kind of why I wasn't suprised that she was the killer of Volus partner.

Aww its just a bit of harmless hero worship - no ******

It really bummed me out at the end of ME when I played maleShep that Kaidan gave him the same smile when he rises from the soverign/Citadel rubble that femShep got.

Bioware needs to do a better job of incorporating romances into cutscenes that don't have to do with the romance expicitly.  I was so impressed with the way they handled the Eden Prime beacon scene, with the little smile and then switching it up depending on if Shep was male or female, they should have done that more.

I really do think he's just jealous of your Shepard's stache.  He's probably thinking that if he had chops like that, he'd have fine ladies like Ashley and Liara fighting over him too.
