At Jho:
I agree completely.  That wasn't so much a rant as a well structured argument.  (Plus, as Mich as pointed out, I am letting the Kaidan in pink armor get to me a little bit. social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/1321959/1)  I also completely agree with it being strange for Kaidan NOT to use his biotics on horizon.  Like I said before.  I kind of expected him to throw a barrier and yell, "sting me now, biotch!"  It just didn't fit like Ash the soldier staring down the scope of her rifle.    He stil could have been incapacitated somehow.  Knocked out, hit by a particle beam, trapped by wreckage.... He could have been preoccupied getting the colonists to safety.  It's not like he had to be stung just like Ash to make that scene work.

I think your Alliance Contact idea would have worked really well.  And, I would have gotten to hear my Kai Kai's voice all the time.

You mean like this?

Write the "title" and then mark it, then click on the "hotlink" button, got a earth globe with a chain link on it, and then paste in the website adress. Yes, I'm horrible at explaining stuff.

and don't try to HTML code it.

I tried doing the whole < a href=link > TITLE < / a > and it had a hissy fit.

Morning jho, thanks for reading, infact thanks everyone who read it.  Yes Star I will carry on, almost written the next part Posted Image

Yay!  Looking forward to reading it. Posted Image

My turn to be cheery today, DG and SW warned us about the cameo in ME2, but we didn't listen.  CH has been telling us all the while the ME1 LI are important, but he didn't say in which part.  They've told us the truth throughout, it's our expectations for ME2 that were off.

They told us we'd be rewarded for staying faithful in ME3.  Now I would guess the important bits are the ones that get done first and as ME1 characters are important, devs words, I wouldn't be suprised it their stories were already written.  I think it's the ME2 LI that are liable to get tweeked/added/cut as they cannot be intergral to the plot as they could have died in ME2.  I very much doubt Bioware devs will change their mind in a massive plot altering way when they're trying to get this game out as quickly as possible.

Have faith, Bioware won't let us down Posted Image

Yes, they did tell us the ME1 LIs would have a limited role.  I guess the reason I feel so disappointed is that it's far more limited than I imagined based upon the "hints" that CH in particular threw out.  There were multiple interviews on TV and in print in which he indicated that while the ME1 LIs would have a limited role, "you'd be able to communicate with them by email" .  The message was cleverly worded of course (marketing...grrr) but gave the implication was that there would be an exchange not just a one shot email.  I probably wouldn't feel as let down if Shep's verbal responses to Kaidan had been less tepid and if there had been more of an exchange.

I agree that Bioware's devs probably already have the story arc laid out and there won't be many changes since the idea seems to be to give players a lot of DLC (although I suspect that means more weapons and armour than story).   I'm trying to have faith but clearly this morning I'm more aligned with Jho's rant! Posted Image

hehehe...not computer science i hope!

And don't worry, you can't be any worse than my idiot geometry teacher I had freshmen year of highschool.  I swear they hired him as coach first and a teacher as an afterthought.  He got up in front of the class and said that any triangle with two equal angles is an equalateral triangle.  Then he stared at me blankly when I asked him what does that mean for a 50, 50, 80 triangle.

No Vyrnus, but still an idiot.

I really think that the planet scanning had a great deal to do with the feeling of not being immersed in the game. At least with the dreaded Mako, you had your squadmates with you, but having to stop & scan planets really breaks up the game too much (or if you're old like me you have to think back to whaere you were up to, lol). Plus too many new characters and not enough interaction with the old ones who didn't even acknowledge former team mates (Garrus & Tali). I liked the fact in ME1 that you did a main mission, then either went back to the Citadel or had some contact with the Alliance (through Hackett), or the council- sorted of tied it all together. I know that TIM contacts you occassionally but because I don't consider that Shep is working for Cerberus, but rather using them or viewing them as a temporary necessary evil, talking to him didn't really do much for me. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "incomplete" earlier but rather "disjointed".

Yeah, you've summed it up pretty well.  The first game had a lot of interactions and a feeling of colleageality about it.  It felt like there was a purpose. You were searching for information about Saren, about the Reapers and trying to make sense of the geths' reappearance in populated space after 400 years. You were trying to save the known universe. There was political intrigue and interaction with a variety of NPCs which really helped make it a story.

While I might be interested in some of the new companions there are waaay to many of them to be able to get to know and there isn't enough dialogue to really support it.  And honestly, I find the missions to be very cookie-cutter.  Go to a planet, shoot some mercs, pick up some resources, go onto the next planet etc. and occasionally have TIM jump in to take over the ship and send the crew on their way to the next interaction with the Collectors.

On a side note, I'm someone who actually liked the Mako.  I got pretty good at making it do tricks (jumping things, spinning donuts etc.) which was far more entertaining (to me) than scanning planets.  Posted Image
