*ponders the the memory* Some guy pretending to be a gal?

Would I be biting my lip over that?  No, it has to do with Boy I Like.  One of the first things he ever said to me when we met last spring and we found out we share a love of video games was, "Wow, a legendary creature!"  I asked him what he meant.  "An actual female gamer," he explained.

Awww....now I'm kinda starting to like him.

Boy I Like, huh?  BIL...Bill

Can we call him Bill?

Heh, Indeedie! Is it me or have girl gamers only started appearing en masse in the last 5ish years or so?

Not that I'm complaining, far from time :D

Pack warm clothes and wet weather gear is my advice :D And ignore the knit's, those are just for the tourists, Scots don't actually wear them.

As for games... not sure. I didn't really like BioShock myself, the rest I played and enjoyed. You looking for RPGs mainly or you wanna try other genre's? Erm, Gaming genres.

If there's anything that annoys me, it's an obvious tourist. It's not that I hate people who are on holiday and enjoying themselves, that's fine. It's the people who drink in the tourist-trap mentality - who, say, go to Scotland and immediately buy ten kilts and scarves and hats with mix-matched tartans and spend their time trying to get Scots to say things so that they can hear the accent, haha. Then they go home and imagine they actually got to experience a little bit of the country. Bleah. I'm more of a visit-the-small-town type - it's harder to find, but it's less gimmicky and you can actually learn something about the people. :)

As for games.... I prefer RPGs. I go in phases, preferring sci fi over fantasy, and back again. I don't really like call of duty type real-world style war games. At the moment all I have is my PC, but I'm looking at getting a console soon as well (recommendations?). I've heard Heavy Rain is amazing; DOA looks interesting but I'm discouraged at the talk of a bad ending there; KotOR looks legend, but I just haven't gotten around to getting it yet. What else?

I think my first one was a Batman platform game back on the old tape-drive machines.

I think it was on this one

OMG the playful way he said it was too much for my lady parts to stand.  TMI?  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/kissing.png[/smilie]

There is no such thing as TMI on the Kaidan Thread!

Oh my god, who here likes Nerf Herder? I' only have their first two albums, but...LOVE!

Game recommendations: Dragon Age, KOTOR!!!!!, I second Jade Empire, and the old school 90s LucasArts Indiana Jones games if you like adventure games - also, Monkey Island! Soon (haha, just typed "swoon" twice) you'll be wearing my sword like a shish-kebab!

Either the 360 or the PS3 for the console. Depends on if you want to get a Blu-ray or not. Most game companys release on multiple platforms, so you don't have to worry about missing out.

Ha, yeah. I recall a group of 3-4 Americans on a Locke Ness tour boat once - and the tour guide was having a right good time. Heh, he was telling'em how they'd captured one of the monsters and where keeping it quiet to try and protect the rest; and they where nodding their heads and believing every word :lol::lol:

As for RPGs, Fable 2 if you liked Fable, KotOR 1 (2 is abit naff but enjoyable enough), Dragon Age Origins is good but the combat is abit tough at first.

Portal 2 is on route too! And they've updated Portal 1 on the PC with a new ending!

Yeah, I don't expect Diablo 3 before next year. At least Starcraft 2 will be out this year though.

I actually liked KoToR 2 even if the story was missing a lot, but then it could just be that I liked Atton so much even if I couldn't romance him

I was thinking about the PS3 because I think it's the one that will go blu-ray, yes? I think DVDs are on their way out.

Hahaha the entire time I was in scotland people kept trying to convince me that haggis was a small highland animal with three legs, each a different length so they can walk evenly on the uneven terrain... haha. they seemed disappointed that I knew better. Ah well.

I'm loving all the good game suggestions, I'm saving them into a notepad list that I hope to work my way through.... :)

and WHAT is monkey island?? haha

Yes, the PS3 is the blu-ray player.

God of War is a good series too (if you get the PS3).

Shenzi, the pic always makes me go weak in the knees. I hope I have THAT exact dream tonight.

Jo, I promise you that one day it will all work out. Whether that's because he comes to his senses, you find someone new, I shoot the girl with a paintball gun that has an automatic hopper that fires paintballs at relativistic speeds....

It's all going to work out. For right now, concentrate on school, maybe try a new hobby, working on becoming the person you want to be... and if all else fails, we'll have a big Kaidan get together at Gen Con, or Comic Con, or Dragon Con, or something, take you out, and help find you your REAL Kaidan Alenko.

Yeah, I know I suck at this whole consoling thing, but I hope it made you feel better?

Goodnight girls. Sweet dreams of Kaidan, or in Doug's case, Ash.

Yeah, KotOR 2 had some real good points, but overall it wasn't as good as KotOR1 IMO. Bare in mind I hadn't even played either game until Autumn last year ;)

Anywho, I'm off for the night ladies before I get any more into "late night angst" mode and bring the thread away from its core values (i.e. gutter living and Kai-kai pics ). See y'all tomorrow.

Hahaha aaahhhh now I'm going to HAVE to get it....
So here's my list from what you guys have said -
force unleashead
halo (any particular one? or just start from the beginning?)
assassins creed
jade empire (?)
vampire masquerade bloodlines
republic commando
morrowind
mercenaries
monkey island
diablo 1 & 2
god of war (for ps3)

Good start? It'll take me a good long time to go through those - any particular priority order? haha. I just don't  want to be the "omg you're a gamer but you've never played _______?!!!!" girl. :pinched:

@Bri:  I prefer western rpgs.  I usually play anything from Bioware or Bethesda.  The Halo games and the Half-Life games have a pretty good story arc for  being basically shooters IMO.

As fas as girl gamers.  I was told once they are like unicorns: Fabled to exist, but rarely seen...unless Kaidan is around and then we are quite numerous :)
