Yeah, the 12 year old adrogynous looking male has never been my cup of tea for anime.

I also don't care for anime.  I was disappointed when the new Halo Legends series was done in anime style.  I just don't understand how one can be an elite soldier and not have gone through puberty yet

Well most of the men are in Shouen Manga, since that is for teenage boy I would assume that most of the boys want a character their age as the hero.

Naruto for example is not the typical Shouen hero were all the girls want them. He had to win Sakura over by being their for her ect,

Inuyash is a 80 something years old demon

Anime? I love anime, but I'm very picky about what I watch. I prefer titles like Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing and pretty much anything by Miyazaki or Satoshi Kon. I do like some shojo. I can't stand all the heavy on the fan service anime which is really made for boys anyway.

I'm also very picky about the games I play. That's just how I roll.

Vampire Hunter D, Record of Lodoss War, Fushigi Yuugi, Neon Genesis: Evagelion

I did go through a Sailor Moon phase in high school, but I liked the serious stories over the 90% fluff filler episodes.

Oh, I like all those ones as well. Ceres by Yu Watase (same lady  that did FY) is really good too.
