I sure hope your boss appreciates that!

I've been on both sides of the equation -- minion and supervisor and find that what I like best is being self-employed.   While I'm occasionally anxious about income (it's feast or famine) I find that I'm a lot more relaxed and less stressed overall.  AND I have more time to do things like hang out on this thread!

I can surf and write at work as long as I'm not neglecting anything.  So, I think so.

I'd prefer to be a full time writer, but the mortgage has to be paid somehow.

I hear you!  I think that it was my experience with being a manager that finally convinced me to change careers.  I spent so much time consulting and in some sense providing career therapy (I was in HR) that I starting thinking I might be better off just being a therapist.  So now when my clients are being childish it's because they actually are children!

As for minions...hmm... I dunno know, sounds like a big responsibly - I mean, if you accidently lock them in over a long weekend, the poor mites might be a bad state by the end of it.
