Did you love or hate the finale?

I liked it myself. Closed up everything and did the close in an unexpected way. Though I can understand why sci-fi hardcores hated it.

They were ised to the Happy ending in the first  BG

O...k.... I don't see what there is to hate really...

Happy/sad endings are irrelevant.
Spitting on the entire concept of the show and deciding to all become cave men in some insipid anti-technology anti-society moment isn't a happy or sad ending. It's just stupid. Stupid stupid stupid!

lol To me, it felt right for them. Since Tech got them in to that short of mess.

Yep, I didn't care for the way the show ended either.

I loved it.  But then I saw the mystical aspects from the miniseries throughout, so that didn't surprise me in the finale.  And I actually prefer at least some mysticism/spirituality to be present in my sci-fi.  I am not a fan of the hard technological science fiction.  Probably why I don't read science fiction all that much.

O...k... I have to wonder how they could maintain a fleet like that without an industrial base, TBH. I mean, you'd be amazed how much maintaince goes into even small industrial projects in the normal course of things, let alone space faring starships...:?

I certainly hope the BW folks didn't see it and decide that's the definition of a happy ending.

Anyway, don't expect new pictures from me for a bit, gonna park myself behind my xbox starting tomorrow yay.:wizard:

So, who wanted the backside Kaidan? Cuz it's finished. Just let me know and I'll do a final round of PMs because harmless as butts are, I don't think the forum can handle it ;)

I knew that wouldn't happen.  It's Moore!  The guy that breathed life into DS9...

I don't understand the hatred for the ditching technology moment though.  The sentiment is around now, in this word.  So it isn't a stretch for a group of people murdered, tortured, and brutalised by technology (twice I might add) to scrap it all and start from scratch.

That assumes tech is some big entity of it's own.
Whereas it was just making killbots that got them into that mess.
What's the best way to remember to not make killbots? Preserve your history! Which you.. don't do if you become cave men.

Oh, he was the guy who did DS9? Nice.

And I dunno - but from a practical standpoint, keeping the tech didn't make much sense - hi-tech equipment needs a high-tech industrial base to keep it operational - you can't just make that sort of base out of the blue.

I didn't mind the presence of spirituality in the end of BSG, since that had been a big part of the show from the very beginning, but I did hate how loose ends were not tied up, and the answer to all questions that were answered were basically "a wizard did it."  They could have planned the last season better, if they just ran out of room for their sprawling ideas at the last minute, because that's what it felt like.  I still love the show up to the last two episodes, but wow was that ending not satisfying to me.
I should probably check out Caprica.  I totally had a crush on Eric Stolz in the eighties.  Posted Image

My beastie is an indoor cat. The last thing he hunted was a pair of my, um, panties. Found them outside my bedroom door this morning, right next to his favourite ribbon. Thank GOD I get up before my male upstairs neighbour does (we share a kitchen, which is on my floor). He did catch some mice last winter, though! I released them outside and they probably ran straight back inside. Ah well!

Actually, it wasn't just the Cylon threat.  It was the fact that technology as a whole had failed them.  The Cylons were just the catalyst for that realisation.  Just as a nuclear war today would make most people disgusted with technology.

No but you can use them to make life on Earth better and preserve your history to some degree.
Instead of "fly them into the sun lol!" Yeah, what are all the starship engineers and pilots going to do now? Farm dirt? Way to waste your labour pool idiots!

Nevermind I won't go on about this any longer, need more Kaidan.

He was one of the major forces for Star Trek in the latter years of TNG and DS9.  Not the sole voice or show runner, but he was a major factor of DS9's tonal differences.
