It occurs to me that if they really had to keep Kaidan's role so small, they could've at least have had him (or Ashley) get taken by the Collectors along with the other colonists.
Fast forward to the Collector base, you find Kaidan just about to go in a smoothee tube and save him for a big romantic finale. Hooray! Less complaining about Cerberus, more "you saved me!" smooching.

I agree.  I think it would have made more sense as to why he was so absent during the rest of ME2.  Of course I would have sped through the game and the rest of my crew would probably have died.   ^_^

Ehh...that's actually what I thought was going to happen and was unimpressed with that plot.  I was like, seriously BW?  We're going to rescue the princess?  Will she really be there or will she be in another castle?

Plus, there would have been that slight chance that I would frel around too much and he'd get liquified...

Bioware would have to ensure he was a surviving character.  They could have had FemShep arrive just in time for her and Kaidan to see Lilith turned into a smoothie before she pulls him from the pod.  ;)

I think Shepard was asking for a threesome and the ability to have a relationship with both of them at the same time. So maybe it wasn't all about sex?

I'm sure that was the intention behind it.. at least it was *my* intention.
Though Shep's lecherous grin when you say that probably didn't help, and I guess it didn't fit Kaidan's idea of an intimate relationship.

Well there's something to be said for a tragic romantic death ending.
I always liked the Carth + Revan die on the Star Forge ending from KotOR which they stupidly cut: www.youtube.com/watch

I dunno I just liked Carth's dedication to saving the woman he loved from true darkness.
It should be an option I say.

I agreed with this ending. I thought it was perfect. I was sad it was cut.

But Revan isn't Shepard, nor a Warden. Revan needed a path to redemption. That was Revan's story to choose redemption or fall again.

The Warden especially doesn't deserve the ending s/he gets given all the crap s/he has to endure.

The same for Shepard. Even a renegade Shepard hasn't fallen to the "darkside" Shepard's already died, presumable skirted death a 2nd time by surviving the suicide mission. ME3 can't kill off Shepard. imho.

Thats... thats... thats just character abuse!!

Funny you should say that. I'll agree that most Bethesda npcs aren't very compelling. But there were two that I can think of atm that I really liked and got attached to
1. James (dad) from Fallout 3
2. Lucien Lachance

Oh yeah, Liam Neeson goes without saying, and the thing that gave me hope about Fallout 3 was that the same guy who had written the Dark Brotherhood questline was the Lead Writer for that game.  And FO3 is somewhat better in general than the older games, in terms of story, but the main quest was not very engaging.  But like I said, I need to care about characters.  Otherwise I'm just going to spend all my time in the game downloading new armor and hair, so I can be a fashion model in the wasteland.

The main quest went downhill once the Dad died at least for me...I guess looking back on it now I really did like his character a lot and seeing him die kinda sucked some of the fun out of the game. I loved the atmosphere though.

As dark as ME2 is I would hope that they would at least give us the option of a happy ending. Of course if they are going to continue with more games in the ME universe they might leave the ending to set up the next game even if Shepard isn't going to be a part of it.

Remind me not to ****** you off.

Have to admit, if saving Lilith was paragon and Kaidan renegade,

Sorry Lilith, I don't even know you.

The KotOR ending is an example, but I don't mean ME3 should follow those exact lines... other than having Raphael Sbarge and Jennifer Hale.:wizard:
The Dragon Age thing... well the problem with DAO is that the choices you're given that involve survival all suck and are as depressing as the alternative.

I could see an ending in ME3 where, for instance, Shep must stay behind to hit the "kill all Reapers" button but will die if she does so. She orders Kaidan to leave but he refuses and both going out in a blaze of glory in each others arms.
However this would only be a bad case scenario ending, the rainbows and puppies ending would be there too.

Yeah, I'm going to have to say if they pull a Armageden/Wrath of Kahn/ Star Trek Nemesis I'm going to hurt someone.  I'm not even going to let the killer bunny out of his cage for this one.  That would be personal.

I want the unicorns skipping down rainbows with teddy bears ending, dammit.

I hadn't thought about it, but zounds being a female in Dragon Age is brutal. The primary romance option is Alistar, the normal ending is you or he sacrificing themselves to kill the Archdemon, or talking him into sleeping with Morrigan, a person he definately does not like.

An aside question/request, I am incapable of playing a female chr AND romancing a guy(I can barely tolerate playing a fem chr) so I have no idea what Kaiden's email said. I'm curious, and was hoping it might be linked on your front page. Google and forum search yielded too many results to begin shifting through as well. Is there a link anyone has to access it?

Also:Outside support for you peps getting your LI back in ME3.

Interesting, much more mild and even tempered then ashelys, much like Kaiden was in ME1. My primary canon ME1 playthrough saved him over ashley simply because I respected his opinions and attitudes more(romanced no one).
It shocked me he reacted so harshly on Horizon(and some of his quotes did not fit for male shepard).

Thanks for the info.

LOL you are like me.  My kids always say - god, you're not playing Mass Effect Again to which I reply - Nah, I'm just talking to Kaidan.

Must admit I also have saves in Kotor before I talk to Carth, Kotor2 before I talk to Atton, & DAO before I talk to Alistair.  I am a pitiful figure, lol.

*snickers*  No, not pitiful.  Smart.

I do the same thing btw; my son think's it's hilarious.

Just finished my insanity play through tonight, whew. I did really miss how gradual the relationship building was with your ME1 LI. In ME2 it just comes together way too quickly, especially if you are romancing Tali because you don't pick her up until you are half way through the game. I am looking forward to eventually going back and playing ME1 again, none of my save files fit the defaults that ME2 will start with, primarily I don't have any where Wrex lives and the Council dies (and the Rachni lives). Getting back into the Kaidan romance will be nice, but I've got way too many games on the horizon for now. (ugg I don't think I can ever use that word again w/o laughing or getting bitter at how Bioware wrote that scene for the LIs).

An Officers party.

Athena Shepard eyed the dance floor with much envy. She wanted to dance. Either the men were too in awe of the warhero or she had acquired a new head on her shoulder.

This would not do.

She hardly ever had the chance to dress like a lady. The least the men, or women, could do was atleast offer to get her a drink.

Seemed she would have to be the one to take initiative, as if that were new.

Her eyes methodically scanned the men amongst the throng of fellow officers, either drinking or taking part in idle banter, lined up against the wall. Her eyes spotted a lone wallflower. His arms crossed his chest, he looked bored but goodness was he handsome. Dark haired, tanned, brown eyes, and lips she'd love to see smile just once this night. Her target was in sight.

As she glided across the floor, all silk and sweetly perfumed, a charming smile graced her dark red lips as she greeted tall, dark, and handsome.

"Want to dance?"

He seemed in a daze, something Shepard took as quite the compliment. Who knew she could fill in a dress so nicely?

"With me? Not your date?"

She arched an eyebrow, "I'm asking, handsome." A tantric rhythm full of seduction and heat began to fill the air. "Now get over here and show me just how you can please a woman's simple request."

She knew it was a gamble to push hard. How pleased she was by grin the man before her graced her with.

"Yes m'aam. I hope you know how to tango."

"I hope you know how to keep up."

-----

Hope y'all like them! :D
