Hmm... so I'm taking votes on my next ME1 playthrough. I want to do something other than my usual spacer/war hero Shep. So which of these two combinations do you like better? Colonist/war hero or earthborn/war hero?
Either works nicely. I like to mix/match tragic with heoric backgrounds. I mean, Mindoir/Akuze or Earthborn/Akuze is just too much.

It's all about the earthborn/ruthless.

I like this one too, although my standby shep is a spacer/war hero.TeenZombie wrote...
The colonist quest is very touching and definitely worth doing if you haven't played a colonist before. I like the combination with War Hero, Shepard started out losing her family to Batarian slavers, and then she becomes a hero years later by saving another colony under attack by the same kind of bad guys. It's a nice backstory.

Not for a Paragon character, I think.
You know, in ME1 I tend to go almost pure Paragon. But in ME2 I have some slight Paragade tendencies. Mainly the renegade interrupts at the beginning of battles... my Shep might prefer peaceful solutions, but when a battle is obviously coming, she has no qualms about striking first. And I always take the renegade response to Warden Kuril on Purgatory. "Go to hell" just seems like such an appropriate response there.

I'm the same - go to hell is the most appropriate response, also killing the guy working on the gunship in the Archangel mission, my shep may be paragon but she's not a gullible foolJoisan wrote...

Same here. Though I don't think some of them should have been renegade interupts. The Krogan interrupt during Mordin's quest is definitely like the Zaaede face punch... he was talking about rampaging over the galaxy!

I forgot about that one- yeah, I always do that too. So I think I've settled on colonist/spacer for my ME playthrough. Which I will likely start as soon as I finish this fic.

For sure. Like that blue sun asari mercenary on Illium. "Oh I'm a sweet little girl who's never done any wrong even though I had to kill a man to get this uniform" Sorry sweetheart. Don't buy it.sesheta255 wrote...

I almost hope that backfires on people in ME3 if they let her go.

Fun thing about playing colonist and war hero/sole survivor paragon Shepard voiced by Jen Hale is you can cruise the galaxy pretending you're Samus.
And I vote Earthborn/War Hero.

Giggles! That's what I need! A bunch of cute puppies at work so everytime I want to choke slam someone I can just go pet a puppy instead. Maybe that's what I should do. Change my profession to professional dog breeder. Dogs are awesome. I think I could handle living with a bunch of dogs.
