Secondly, about the Conrad thing, I got that comment about my Renegadey actions from him, but somehow I cycled through the questions and without ending the conversation, he gave me a different line in that same place that did match up correctly with my Paragon response to him in ME1. Has this happened to anyone else, or am I misremembering?

I got both responses from Conrad when I was talking to him with my Paragon Vanguard. I was taken aback a bit when he accused her of being a jerk, but his next line referred to her being so nice to him - and I figured they just put both in there.

I do wonder if Conrad really dies depending on your decisions. There is a conspiracy theory that he faked his death (which I could believe given that this is Conrad after all and if Shep can fake her death so can he!).

Bonjour o' men and women of the good thread Alenko - I'm from the Ashley Williams support thread, and since some of your members where kind enough to voice their support for us, I figured I'd wave the pom-poms of support here too.

Bonjour! I think Kaiden would appreciate the pom poms. They're pretty...adventurous.

... I think I need an adult!

We all know how Kaidan feels about adventurous women!

*ponders this for a long while and then dons a Kaidan mask* Hi ladies, I'm Kaidan...honest! Ooo, me head, the migrains......who wants a hug?

Next episode: Doug gets driven away by the police

Morning, everyone! First of all, thank you, Ash lovers, for your Kaidan support! We need to stick together! Ash and Kaidan get so much undeserved hate from some people.

Indeedie! Ashley I sort of get with the whole 'not keen on aliens' thing but I don't see why Kaidan gets the flak.

Secondly, about the Conrad thing, I got that comment about my Renegadey actions from him, but somehow I cycled through the questions and without ending the conversation, he gave me a different line in that same place that did match up correctly with my Paragon response to him in ME1. Conrad is horribly bugged, it seems. I never shoved a gun in his face in ME1, and was nice to him and got him to go home (in hindsight, that was probably renegade to his wife :D)

Bah, I wish I could get my hands on a photo editor so I could change my avatar to one of my Shep.

Would be more than willing to help with that, if you need it :)

Thanks! I'll try to get in touch with you when I'm not at work about this. Posted Image

My first playthrough of Virmire, I had no idea that I couldn't save Ashley AND Kaidan. I had always had both of them in my party up to that point, so I was pissed when I had to choose one to send off with the salarians. I chose Ash, because it made sense, but I was so confused when I was going to the AA tower and I was told I had to go back and rescue Kaidan OR go on and rescue Ashley. I was like, "why are they telling me I can't do both, OF COURSE I'm going to rescue them both!"

Oh, was I mistaken. And I was really upset, too. In my opinion, the Virmire choice is a lot more powerful than any of the possible deaths in ME2, because all of the ME2 deaths are avoidable, even the crew. Losing Ashley or Kaidan is permanent and unavoidable, and Shepard is put in the position of either sacrificing a potential lover, or a good friend. You're never given as poignant a scenario in ME2, because all you have to do is look at a walkthrough or use some common sense to avoid any unpleasantness.

Bleh. Kids these days don't know how easy they have it!!!

But Jacob talks out of both sides of his mouth; on one hand, he says he doesn't like Cerberus, doesn't trust them, blah blah, but he takes their money, and unlike Shep, actually chose to work for them. Hypocrite. I avoided him as much as possible.

Kaidan told you way back in ME1 the night before Ilos that if he didn't think you were doing the right thing, he wouldn't be here, and he made good on it on Horizon. It was awful, but you had to respect that he stuck to his principles, even if he didn't know the whole story. One more reason I really missed him in ME2, where it felt like almost everyone had their own agenda and wanted something from you. He'd BETTER have a big role in ME3.....

Yes thank you!! There was a thread about who you would want as your XO other then Miranda and I was floored people were suggesting Jacob. I said he wasn't exactly the loyal type and someone told me I pulled that one out of my ass.. lol. No actually I paid attention to what he says, even though it was painful to watch my Shep talk to him..

Kaidan or Ash would make great XO's compared to anyone on the Normandy right now, though Miranda is just fine, but I'd rather have Kai-kai in her position, and possibly assume others.. *cough*

I always get this creepy Psycho image whenever Conrad speaks of his wife. I don't think she exists except in his head.

I actually found an article where Casey Hudson mentions Conrad.  It is odd b/c he says what choices you made in ME1 have a meaningful affect on what is going on in ME2. I guess that is true unless they don't, like in the exact example he uses :)

"Anytime we have a plot or a character or situation in Mass Effect 2, we think about what you did, potentially, in the first game that might affect said plot or character or situation in the second. We can look at each variable and dynamically change what happens in the moment. It ranges from small things like, by way of example, Conrad Verner was a fan of Commander Shepard's that you met in the first game, and it's like you meet this guy in an alley and you can be nice to him or you can be a jerk to him, and at the time you might have been thinking of it as just a trite role-playing convention, good-guy bad-guy, and that's that.Jump forward two years. Now you're playing Mass Effect 2, and oh my god, who's this, it's Conrad Verner! And based on what you've done, you realize that while the moment in the first game maybe seemed throwaway, now Conrad's back and involved in another plot in a game you're playing two years later...and what you did two years ago is meaningfully affecting what's happening. That's a small example.'

I have a feeling Miranda is not going to be so nice and happy with me when I give her the old heave ho from her XO position in ME3. Because honestly, Staff Commander Alenko has far more experience being the XO of an advanced warship than Miranda.

I do love the Asari bartender's reaction when Conrad talks about how supportive his wife has been and how she even payed for his ticket off of Earth :D

The problem with Conrad Verner is definitely a major bug, if you check the flag states for his quest, both Paragon and Renegade choices are "on" by default, and unchecking one or the other doesn't matter, the game just goes with the renegade version.  They really ought to fix it in the first patch, it's a pretty glaring mistake.

I got that response, but I still don't think she exists outside of his head. It may just be that I don't think that any woman could stand staying married to that guy! LOL (And yes I know, he says that she paid for his ticket offworld. Hopefully she is working on the divorce.. but wouldn't it be funny to see her with him in the next game?)

Bad thing is, if I recall correctly, we sent him right back to his wife.(again) As if his obsession with Shepard isn't enough, the same Shepard makes Conrad come home again...and just when she most likely thought he was gone for good

Really? She sent him off into the Galaxy with nothing but papermache armour and an attitude... seems perfectly sane to me ;)

Re the biotic conversation with Kaidan, does anyone who managed to get it play on x-box? I'm so baffled by where the hell this convo is, it's really doing my nut in!

@Winde, I love the dancing pic but also the narrative underneath it, truely awesome!

Re Ash fans hi! *waves* I miss Ash so so much she will always be my BFF in the ME universe, I loved her - no ****** obviously - and will have a drink to her every armistice day, she was the only member of the crew who ever asked me to have a drink! Well other than Chakwas in ME2.

As for Conrad, what an ass, the first time in ME1 when he asked for my autograph I wouldn't sign it because I thought he was gonna use it for nefarious purposes, I couldn't believe anyone in the ME world was that much of a wazzock, turns out I was wrong, and as for the wife, I'd send him packing too if he showed up with random pics of a beautiful and dangerous looking woman, the question is why did she marry the pillock in the first place?
