Perfect renegade Shep, he is! Also, grats on thenew skates coming your way, Jo!

Thankis, Kim!

Dude, pay attention!  She told us that they chased her off the ice for not doing enough twists and stuff, and then the dude in the pro shop told her that she had freakishly large feet.

You're never going to get a girlfriend until you learn to listen to women, man.  <_<

A toast to the silly little animals who are bound to end up in your breakfast unless you watch them closely! (True story, looked away for a second and then I suddenly had a hamster in my cereals)

Don't forget there also could have been a renegade interrupt to use on Anderson for Kaidan's location as well.

Here, Doug.  Hopefully it won't get lost amid the flurry of posts this time.

It means: I did pretty well at everything except the ******* spins,
which was unbelievably frustrating for me.  Meanwhile, everybody else
who was at the rink at the same time as me is ridiculously good, doing
spins I can't even touch at this point and double and triple jumps.  So
I'm incredibly frustrated and mortified at the end of the practice
session.  One of the people at the arena comes up to me and basically
explains that this time is for the national-level skaters and next time
please to come at a different time.  That on top of everything else was
just too much, and I end up needing to spend a few minutes in the
bathroom composing myself while waiting for the skate shop to open.

Then
I walk into the skate shop and (third time's the charm, apparently) get
helped by somebody who knows what he's doing with figure skates.  He
takes one look at my current skates and basically says, "You're trying
to do waltz jumps and spins in those?!"  So he measures me for a new set
of skates and tells me what I already know: my feet are unusually large
for a woman, and unusually wide relative to their length.  So he didn't
have any skates in my size in stock, but was able to order a pair in my
size and (miracle of miracles) they were in stock in a warehouse up in
Hollywood.  So they should be in tomorrow, and I'll have to go back to
have them fitted to my foot.  Then another day or two to have them give
the sole a good waterproofing treatment and I will get to see what it's
like to skate with the proper equipment for my ability level.

So
basically: Very bad skating to incredibly excited about the new skates.

speaking of pets :

true story - I actually managed to set fire to both of my cats in the space of a week. Luckily my vet has known me for over 20 years so he believed the story, lol

We had a blackout & I was lighting some candles when the one eyed medium long hair psycho cat jumped up on the table & her tail came in contact with the match - luckily only a bit of burnt fur.

A few days later I lit a couple of candles again & the other cat walked over & stuck his face right in the flame. Luckily he only ended up with a few singed whiskers and wasn't very impressed when I grabbed him & stuck his head under the tap.

Ack, sorry hun - as I said, very distracted, didn't mean to miss the first post - and *hugs about the skating* But maybe the new skates will help alot! :)

About the nearest to that I can think of was a few years ago - there was an engineering competition, and my team had about a month and no proper facilities to make this damn Unmanned underwater vehicle - we had a thing that used meccano for its structure, the other teams all had custom parts, heh. We were pretty embarrassed, and the low point was when "Oh you guys did well - I mean, you're not engineers after all" <_<
