About the nearest to that I can think of was a few years ago - there was an engineering competition, and my team had about a month and no proper facilities to make this damn Unmanned underwater vehicle - we had a thing that used meccano for its structure, the other teams all had custom parts, heh. We were pretty embarrassed, and the low point was when "Oh you guys did well - I mean, you're not engineers after all" <_<

That deserves this: 

And yes, I've been assured the new skates will help a lot.  Having the proper equipment is almost as crucial in figure skating as it is in engineering.

And we did it on a tight budget, inside of a very short period of time. hell, they were impressed we managed to get a water tight seal inside of a month
