Garrus and Kaidan were my right and left hands in ME1. Even with the Adept Paragon, it felt odd to have anyone else at my back. Thane's taken Kaiden's place, but it feels off.

Garrus led both fire teams for Meghan. She didn't trust anyone to follow the two Cerberus agents.

Honestly? I ended up trusting the Cerberus agents - and Miranda proved me right in the collector base by telling TIM to naff off :D

Bah! That scene screams "triple agent" to me.
The only place on my ship for a Cerberus agent is the airlock.

*raises an eyebrow* I see... ok...Heh, I figure that the Collector base was what TIM was really after, so I don't see him willingly destroying it.

Going to have to ask to keep Awakening spoilers out of this thread as much as possible or make sure to warn well before hand if you type anything spoilerific please, thank you :)

He wouldn't, but if Shep's going to he might as well make sure his little pet is trusted by Shepard.

It turns out the Black City is a Reaper!
Darkspawn? They're all indoctrinated.

Yeah right I have to wait 2 extra days for Awakening because EA hates Europe or something.

Rather than just having her shoot him in the back?

I trusted them.  But I'd already reloaded when Legion died and Jack's outburst (and Garrus' nod agreeing with her) left me no confidence in Miranda's abilities.

OMG, THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING! Also, the Maker and TIM are one and the same!

And yeah, I'm UK so...bleh, 2 days extra waiting... probably to let the pirates get a head start *snickers cynically*

Off topic, but I have to ask, does anyone else love the song "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay?

I wish we'd at least gotten Tali and Garrus added to the crew briefing type scenes once you recruited them. Makes no sense to not have them there, IMHO.

Also, second the request to please not discuss Awakening here! I should have my copy waiting for me at home after work, but will be good and keep any spoilers to myself.

I think it was BW taking the easy route - only use characters you know will be in briefings, that way you don't need to check and see if they've been recruited yet.

I don't suspect that Miranda is a triple agent, but I do expect that TIM will use her family against her and that will be problematic in ME3.

My Shep oddly learned to respect Miranda as the game progressed, but I think it's because my Shep has alot of similar qualities to Miranda (minus the whole Cerberus loyalty thing).

I would have thought because in ME1 they had everyone at the breifings it would have been the same for ME2. My thoughs while playing was that because Miranda and Jacob were "suppose" to be the number two and three on the ship they were the only ones at the breifings.

Your probably right though it was BW taking the easy road.  :P

There are just too many squaddies in general.  If writing all that maybe dialogue for if you recruited them appears to be too big a project, why make 12 companions?  What's the point of giving you that many of them if they're not going to do anything distinct?  (Except for Mordin, who is awesome,)  I mean, I do actually like most of the squad, even Jacob's a good guy once you get past fem-Shepard's horrible come-hither voice, but they are all pretty shallow.   :?

I miss my nice long Kaidan conversations, orange light and all. :(
