@Doug - can I pleeeeeeeease have
lounging Kaidan for July on the Calendar? Has someone already spoken for
the picture/that month?

I'm afraid not - due to reasons
beyond my control, I've have to stick with screenshots only.

Off topic - I just had a conversation with Dell's automated order status line, and she told me my Alienware M11x is being prepared to ship!!!

I just found out I wasted I don't know how many hours replaying Mass Effect 1 with Mia because I thought I'd lost all my saves, but it turns out they were on my old flash drive.  Not that replaying ME can ever be considered a waste of time, but if I'd known I could have started ME2 right away with an imported Shep and not played through with a new character before going back to get an ME1 character for import.

I think it was BW taking the easy route - only use characters you know will be in briefings, that way you don't need to check and see if they've been recruited yet.

Frankly, this describes everything that's wrong with ME2.  They phoned in everything EXCEPT the combat, because the 18-25 year old male demographic spends more money on video games than any other demographic.  Or something.

Yay for EA.

I wish we'd at least gotten Tali and Garrus added to the crew briefing type scenes once you recruited them. Makes no sense to not have them there, IMHO.

Also, second the request to please not discuss Awakening here! I should have my copy waiting for me at home after work, but will be good and keep any spoilers to myself.

I would have thought because in ME1 they had everyone at the breifings it would have been the same for ME2. My thoughs while playing was that because Miranda and Jacob were "suppose" to be the number two and three on the ship they were the only ones at the breifings.

Your probably right though it was BW taking the easy road.  :P

There are just too
many squaddies in general.  If writing all that maybe dialogue for if
you recruited them appears to be too big a project, why make 12
companions?  What's the point of giving you that many of them if they're
not going to do anything distinct?  (Except for Mordin, who is
awesome,)  I mean, I do actually like most of the squad, even Jacob's a
good guy once you get past fem-Shepard's horrible come-hither voice, but
they are all pretty shallow.   [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie][smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png[/smilie]

I miss
my nice long Kaidan conversations, orange light and all. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie]

Well ,if you look at ME1, Garrus, Wrex, and Tali never say anything it in the briefs anyways, heh. But yeah, there are too many squaddies to deal with I think.

Ouch Chelsea. That does suck, but look at the bright side, you got to spend hours with Kaidan by replaying ME1. :)

OK, something strange:

I talked to Jacob (who I normally avoid like the plague) and Shep is now saying to him "I'm interested in getting to know you better" and NOT in that awful voice she was using. This is very recent, and I've done a number of playthroughs. Does anyone know if Bioware snuck a patch into the Arc Projector download? (that's about when I noticed it) If so, thank God. I hated hearing her "come hither" voice, at least to Jacob!

I think Shep will use "normal" voice when she talks to him after completing his loyalty quest (and only the next convo after completion then she goes back to flirty voice). Atleast that's how it's been in my play throughs. So they have a normal voice recorded which they only use once for female Shep :X

Hmm. Definitely possible, although this is the first time I've ever gotten a normal voice. Then again, I normally avoid Jacob, so there's probably a lot of dialogue options that I've never heard. And never will, I'm thinking at this point.

OK, never mind. Back to Kaidan.

I know.  Like I said, replaying ME can't ever be considered a waste of time, but I really didn't like that my first playthrough in ME2 was with the default choices, which were pretty much all renegade and not what I chose.  Not to mention it meant not getting the Kai-Kai hug on Horizon.

I'm debating going to BestBuy during lunch to get Awakening, or downloading it from Direct2Drive after work. Hmm...I hate having to rely on discs, but waiting for a download will drive me insane...

On topic: I miss Kaidan's conversations too. I need to go through ME2 again for a "perfect" paragon playthrough and another renegade game, but I just don't have the desire to play again. The gameplay is not my style, I'm not that crazy about most of the teammates, and the few things I enjoy aren't compelling enough to make the time it will take worth it. Having Kaidan on my team would be worth ten hours of mining, at least...

Honestly? I loved most of ME2. Though they could have done with another 3-6 months to polish off some of it. And scanning was a bad idea, but it certainly beat the Mako's insane physics.

No, I loved ME2, too.  It was a work of art in so many ways.  But then, it was also disappointing in a few ways too.

I was an ardent defender of it originally.  Then Mrs. T wore me down and made me see the light.  B)

True... it odd, really. I still rate it above ME1, but I can see all the little mistakes and flaws.... and yeah, but Mrs Templar has ... other ways of convincing you :P (hint: Sex and/or Voilence )

I already posted my picture.  In a swimsuit no less.

Yes, I know I'm a lovely shade of pale white.  B)
