Really need to replay ME2 again since I don't recall, but does Kaidan know Shepard's alive when he goes to Horizon?
He has heard rumours that Shepard wasn't dead before Horizon.

I don't think it's entirely clear wether he knows it or not. Imo he should since there are clearly rumours around and Anderson contacts you as soon as you get Normandy. From his conversation i think it's pretty clear he don't know wether you been dead during the two years or just disappeared to join Cerberus and been doing missions for the past two years though. Atleast that's how i saw it and why I really understand his confused/angry reaction.

I don't think Cerberus would have been able to convince Kaidan that giving over Shep's body was the right thing. He doesn't trust them, so he would never trust them with her body - no matter what glittering promises they make.
I agree, I alkso think that some of the others- maybe Garrus would have done the same thing as Liara - their loyalty is with Shepard and not the Alliance or the Council and they are not above using whatever means necessary to get the job done.
I think only Garrus would. Tali distrusts Cerberus so I don't think she would have done so. Honestly, I think Wrex wouldn't either. I think he would respect that she fell as a warrior and wouldn't try to change that.
Now Joker, Joker I could see doing it, but then again, I see Joker as suffering from alot of guilt for Shep dying to begin with.
I though so about Tali but couldn't figuer out what Wrex would do - good call on the warrior death
I think that Kaidan might go into a guilt trip over the whole thing though-get all angsty because Liara did for Shepard what he could not, especially when Shepard proves she is not a Cerberus puppet ( that is assuming she did not hand over the Reaper base to TIM). I can see it could be a very complicated thing ( but propbably won't just don't see Bioware playing it that way)
Agreed. It's always easy to say you wouldn't do that if you're not in that position yourself. How far will you go for the one you love? With your back to the wall, the loss you feel, the pain and sorrow...will it cloud your judgement? Cerberus will make a very good case, could Kaidan be so strong to turn them down, knowing Shepard is needed, knowing she could be returned to him? I think the choice would tear him apart, her life in his hands..what will he do with it? He would fear what Cerberus has to offer and part of him will scream to accept it but will he in the end? I really can't say for sure.
So yeah, feeling guilty might be an interesting angle, I can totally see that happen.
I can see it tearing him apart too, but my reasoning for him refusing Cerberus (no matter what the angle) is the same reason why I'm ok with him walking away at Horizon. Cerberus is a line that he won't cross - not even for Shep. He stood by his principles after seeing her alive and "working" for Cerberus. I think he would refuse them still. And then he'd be torn apart by grief/guilt.

Effect 3 keeps the same talent system for squad mates. What would Kaidan's talents be?
http://masseffect.wi...om/wiki/classes
if you need the name of existing talents.
And an example of how the talents are structured:
http://masseffect.wi...i/Legion#Powers
Personally, I'd go with
Throw
Overload
Alliance Lieutenant (you can fill the description)
Loyalty power? Who knows. Maybe a full forced biotic kick? =p

I think he didn't believe the rumors about Shepard being alive and working for Cerberus for the last two years until he saw her...and then he kind of flipped out. Shepard can tell him "I was dead" or "I was in a coma", but that's not the best explanation ever, it makes sense that he's still completely confused.
It would be really interesting to see Kaidan and Liara having a chat about her role in Shepard's ressurrection...I wonder if he'd be angry if he knew what she did. On the one hand, Shepard's back from the dead, on the other, she had to make a deal with the devil in order to make it happen...

I think he would be very angry with Liara. IMO, he'd probably wonder what right Liara had making that kind of decision for Shep. Also, he would likely point out that Liara would have no idea what exactly Cerberus has done to Shep, like alterations and experiments.

Oh BioWare, the tension between all of these characters has so much potential. Can it come across in a game?
I definatly think that Kaidan would have let Shepards body rest.

It wasn't only for love of Shepard that Liara did what she did. She also says, when you confront her, that she believes only Shepard could stand against the Reapers. So, Liara is just as obsessed with stopping the Reapers as Shepard is.
Do any of the other squad mates prior to ME2 feel the same way? No. Everyone else was in it to stop Saren or follow Shepard. Now? Garrus and Tali may be just as obsessed as Shepard and Liara. It'll be interesting to see what Kaidan/Ashley think of the events of ME2.
Those mind melds must have really done a number on poor Liara.

Heading to a meeting, so just a quick note.
I think Liara is more cognizant of the threat of the reapers courtesy of all those mind melds, but I think that Kaidan/Ashley are likely doing all they can within the confines of the Alliance military to further Shep's cause.

Hopefully they introduce more powers in ME3 so they can diversify Kaidan more. When i'm trying to figure out a usefull sentinel build he becomes the male alliance version of Miranda
