In my second play through, I'm going to string Liara along, so I could get the confrontation scene ... How do I go, about that does anyone know how?

I pulled it off once, but don't remember how.  Recently when I tried to do it again I somehow ended the relationship with Kaidan instead.  So, naturally I reloaded from a previous save and told Liara to find someone else to embrace :P

Sorry I am not more help.

I take it your comments where directed at me then?

It was a general comment and wasn't directed at any individual person.

Ok.. sorry. Alittle sensitive after getting told off last night.

Oh Posted Image sorry

If I'm honest, I'm starting to worry about what is and isn't acceptable to post anymore, feels like the thread is losing it's carefree attitude, your post just hit at the wrong time I guess.

Didn't meant to bother anyone, again I apologise, I'll go now.

And I have to agree - the thread used to be fine and dandy with OT talk as well as on topic talk...

Tell them both that you're interested.

I tell Kaidan that Liara means nothing to me and then I tell Liara that I like her and Kaidan both. Then when the confrontation comes out, don't pick 'why do I have to choose?' because Kaidan will leave you.

Ok thank you!  :D

Agreed.  I don't think going ot now and then is such a bad thing.  It adds to the fun of the forum.  Plus, IMO we always wind back around to Kaidan in the end.  All roads lead to Kaidan, even the slightly silly, ot ones :)

I'm fine with it, but when it goes on for two pages or longer, it gets excessive and alienating IMO. ^_^

Edit: I hope this fixed my quotes... never been good at clipping quotes :(

Yeah, the "on Kaidan topic police" are starting to get a little out of hand.

Let me present the following four facts:
  • We all think Kaidan is the bee's knees
  • We all love BW across their myriad IPs
  • We are all social creatures who seem to enjoy each other's company across countries and continents
  • There is only so much that can be said about Kaidan without repeating ourselves. Which we did yesterday.
I'm afraid I don't see a problem with topic digression, including the ME universe, the DA universe, BW in general, gaming in general, and life in general.  In small group communication, this is called a fantasy theme, and it's part of how group relationships form.

(Wow...  I actually DID learn something in college... )

Just my two cents.  I don't post very often, but I do lurk around.  I was originaly interested in thread because of my love of Kaidan, and everyone seemed very friendly.  The OT gives the thread life and I enjoy it, but when it goes on, it does make it harder for new people to join in the conversation sometimes.

Again, just my two cents.

Doug, as I recall, no one "told you off" last night, I made a silly remark about a post, Bloody Templar asked me about it, and I responded seriously that I felt like the thread gets too far off topic lately. I don't think he felt like I was telling him off, either.

We actually did have a Kaidan appreciation thread locked down on the old forum, before ME2 came out, because it was considered off topic just by being about a non-squadmember. It would be really easy for Stanley or Chris to come in here and see a page or two of chat that had nothing to do with the game, and decide that this is unnecessary.

I also worry that new folks, and some old timers who don't post anymore, won't feel comfortable jumping in if they see pages of chat between a small group of people. I'm not singling you or anyone else out, I even feel concerned sometimes when guys come in the thread and are distressed by all the shirtless pics...I don't want anyone to feel unwelcome.

Just my two cents, I gotta go and get my green drink on tonight, later guys.

I don't mind the OT for the most part (and when it gets bothersome I just don't post/comment), but I miss some of the old faces that don't seem to post as often. I actually enjoyed all the Kaidan talking that went on today. It was insightful and helped me refocus towards my fanfics (and it brought some of the old faces back out of the woodworks).

Kaidan realizes it's gotten quiet in here, but can't hold it in any longer...

Let's put it this way, you stopped lurking because we were having fun and you shared an interest, yes?

Now we're being told not to have fun because it might put of the very people, like you hun, who joined because we were having fun?

How does that stop new people? And as much I would like to have a whole host of people join us, if they don't like they way we roll then they probably won't stick around either way.

When DA started marketing to just new people, the forums went mad, now you're telling me I can't have a laugh because of new people.  This is madness!

I though the mods policed this stuff not our friends

morning again

OT :

@BloodyTemplar - aussie accents :

Random Kaidan posts :

It will be interesting to see Kaidans reaction to some of the new squad especially Legion. I really hope the writers are on the ball for ME3.

dlc - couldn't be arsed about Liara dlc - can't stand her. Noticed that a thread started earlier talking about romance dlc but most of the discussion seems to be centred around ME2 romances. I want to be able to go back to the citadel and find Kaidan after the suicide mission damn it.

Liara - I can understand why she didn't tell anyone about Sheps body & Cerberus to a degree but I still think Kaidan will be PO'd at her for both no ttelling him and for Cerberus. Still would like to know what the shadowbroker wanted it for - I didn't read the comics so not sure if that was explained.

I don't think people are understanding where I'm coming from, so I'll
elaborate it as clearly as I can. I don't mind talking about other games, other things
in Mass Effect, our hopes and dreams for DAO etc. I don't mind people
coming in and saying, "I had a bad day, guys. I need to vent"

The following is what gets
annoying to read:

"Hits person ___ on the head"
*cries*
"Oh,
I'm sorry I hit you, here's a cookie"
*insert
gigantic picture of cookie or something"

Pages and pages of
nested quotes of rping. I don't mind it in
moderation. I don't mind talking about other things, but in moderation. I
don't want pages and pages of it.

It's hilarious that I spoke up directly once about how I felt about how things were getting way off topic. I
said it in a manner that I thought wouldn't
be an **** way of saying it. I read a few other posters kindly
asking that we try to keep things more on topic. Nobody demanded
anything.

And now I'm told that I'm being on-topic police when I did this once.

thanks Sapphy - I thought that was it but my brain isn't functioning today and given the little we know about the shadowbroker I just wondered he/she/they had some other nefarious plan.

Sorry, didn't mean to single you out with the "police" comment.  There's been a pattern of commentary lately, and that's more what I was replying to.

That said, you make a very good point about snipping images from reply chains. If people don't do it, it makes for a lot of scrolling!
