I dare you to!

Agree about the mandatory contraception (also, imagine being in a hardsuit in the Mako and getting your period, agony!). Of course that means that the night before Ilos would have been au natural...

My thought was that Shepard isn't the sort to "do that sort of thing lightly" to quote Kaidan, so she wouldn't worry too much about taking contraception.  And then the night before Ilos was so spontaneous that neither of them thought to take... precautions.  So that was how I justified it to myself.

Now we need this pic:

I've gotten the same idea. Wouldn't Shepard, a highly trained agent that does high risk operations, be on birth control in case she was captured?

Then again, most of that stuff 99% effective. Shepard is a lightning rod of misfortune at times... so I guess she's that 1% chance :(

Ok, your first point, while valid, was a bit more real-world unpleasant than I was thinking...

The second one, however, rather made me laugh, cause you're so right.  She'd be the one person who'd get hit with the 1/10% failure rate all right...

ETA:  Also, my original thought of mandatory contraceptive included that idea that they'd figured out something for the men too.  Most military brass aren't too fond of their servicemen knocking up the locals at their ports of call either.

If both genders had effective birth control options, that would explain how the scale-itch got on the SR2. Because everyone's ****tin around :P

The mandatory contraceptive is already being tested ie getting pregent will get someone aressted or corut martieled. However in the mass effect game the radicals forced woman to not give up there last name, because somehow it forced them not to havet here  indavisualtaly.  .  I would think that frocing people to have contraceptive would be apart of this saying it would deprve them of there right ectt.

I don't know about the real world military, but in the Mass Effect universe we know people like Spacer Shep's mom can have children and continue their military careers.

Our Sheps are very similar then! I think it's a perfectly justified reasoning behind the plot. Besides, with her crazy history, when was the last time Shep even had the time for a man? I doubt she keeps a stash of condoms in her purse.^_^

Huh.  I missed the part about last names when I played, I guess.  *shrugs*

As far as the legal rights to choose... you give up a lot of your individual rights when you join the military now, so as long as they tell you upfront, and only require the contraception when you're deployed, I can't imagine there being any legal difficulties.  *shrugs*

Of course.  Just not when deployed in deep space.  I never meant to imply that the military doesn't like their people to have children... they just prefer that you plan it, have sex only with your spouse, and keep the kids on family-friendly posts, rather than in hazardous duty assignments.

That all makes perfect sense, and if ME was a contemporary story, I'd agree 110%.  As it's science fiction, my brain is determined to insist that we'd be better at such things than we are now. :D

Yeah, even in the future, hormonal contraceptives could still cause annoying side effects, so if Shep knew she wasn't going to be getting busy with anyone, she could have just skipped it.

But still, male birth control pills or shots.  Make it happen, scientists!

Yeah, it a new law that us libearl slantted modertes are get up in arms over it. However, I agree that getting pregent while on duty should get you pusihed for delalution of duty   it kind of piised off the radicals  femisit  ^_^  However she might have had  him/her off duty, and was recalled  ect. <_<

I can finally "save as" all these pictures because I usually see them at work and I can't really have them on my work computer when the IT guys come around. That would be awkward.

*drools* at above picture.

Yay for yummy smexiness!

Speaking of storytime, a snippet from fic #3.

And this also answers the question of what my fic has to do with X-rays and pregnancy, by the way.

Thought I'd pop in on break from playing DA and found your post...

Awwww....loved the snippet!

So, I was digging through the archived forums and I came across the super old Kaidan love thread. I was the OP and I thought I'd be battling off trolls... I was nervous to post it when I did.

It lasted only 19 pages, then his cameo was announced and it was locked. There was some funny stuff on there and a lot of rabidness

Joisan's on there, along with some other familiar faces. ^_^

In case anyone wants to take a peek, here it is

Edit: Sleepytimes now
