Did anyone else get the impression from talking to Dr. Chakwas (Fort's fic aside) in ME2 that she was somewhat fond of him? In a... non... motherly way?

Do you mean Kaidan or Joker?

I meant Joker. I do see her as much more motherly towards Kaidan with his terrible migraines. But when you're drinking with her, one of the conversation paths is about Joker and how important he is to her, and there seemed to be a little bit more than just comeraderie (sp??) there. Then again, she was drinking so who knows?

I see! Yeah, that "Jeff will always need me" line is open to interpretation! Aww, they might be cute together, actually. Although Dr Chakwas and XO Pressly have been doing some major flirting on Twitter, and I think that's making me ship them together instead! Poor Pressly. :(

I don't think I've asked yet, but...sekrit pic, please?

I wore them all out last night.... *cough* what? Haha I mean... on the Ashley thread...

Think Chakwas just really wanted to feel needed and used Joker as an excuse. That or she's a cougar..who knows :P

I could see her being a bit of a cougar, actually... haha. But yeah, she definitely wanted to feel needed. Maybe that's all there was to it. :)

You beat me to it Sapphy. I was just going to post about Standard Issue Llfe Chpt 20.

Bioware men:
1. Kaidan
2. Alistair
3. Carth
I won't add Sky since I believe it was just between those 3.

Actually there's a line between 1 and 2 in my mind and that's filled up by Kivan ;) So I'm a sucker for the slighty hoarse/raspy voice stuff.

Is he from Baldur's Gate?  I haven't played either of those although my husband has so I've seen a bit.  I'm a fan of the hoarse/raspy voice too, and deep voices, and accents. Turian voices are always sexy to me too.

Yeah BG...though not a romance option without a mod. But his romance mod for BG2 is wonderful :)
Wish years from now we would be able to say the same for ME...Kaidan's romance mod! ..darn it.

Good morning everyone!

This has been such a busy week. I'm breezing through before starting a  nearly full day of meetings (@ 9am) but wanted to say hi quickly.

So it sounds like there's a new sekrit pic.  Could someone PM me please?  It would be lovely lovely pick me up when I finally get home tonight (no computer access all day) Posted Image

I loved Carth and never thought of him as whiny.  His issues and lack of trust seemed pretty understandable to me. If I have to rank them though it would be:

1. Kaidan
2. Alistair
3. Carth

I'm going to lose my Kaidan fan card here:

1) Alistair
2) Kaidan
3) Carth

Alistair is most like my husband. It may be the closest thing I ever get to playing an RPG with my husband. MMO's don't count. ;)

My personal ranking would be

1. Kaidan
2. Carth
3. Alistair

And don't take that as an "I didn't like Alistair" because honestly it's pretty close to a three-way tie.

Ooooh, I would love an early loyalty mission for Kaidan! With a nice reward at the end of course. And maybe his alternate outfit can be a tux. Or just a towel, that's fine with me too. I guess something to do with Rahna would be the obvious thing, right? Anyone else have any ideas?

Also...speaking of towels...how do you think biotics manage to keep their amp socket thing clear of water when they're showering? Does Kaidan have a little plug he has to push into the back of his head every time he wants to take a shower, go swimming, etc? Haha! It's not easy being biotic.

I think Jilly suggested yesterday some sort of mission where you cooperate with the Alliance and/or the Council.  Possibly involving giving Cerberus hell, which is always good in my book

I would LOVE to give Cerberus hell in ME3...more so than those blasted Reapers

wow, I wander away for half an hour or so, and miss a secret Jhosephine picture... PM pretty please?

Also, a la the Chakwas/Joker thing, I still think it's maternal/doctor-appropriate. I am strangely wanting to write some Chakwas/Joker friend dialogue now though... I think they'd be pretty close now, being the only members of the SR1 who Cerberus recruited. Especially since Chakwas admits it was rather equal parts Joker and Shepard that convinced her to leave the Alliance

That was one of my favorite parts of DAO too. If I had someone in the room, I'd be like, "Shhhh... Alistair and Morrigan are talking..." =]

They had a little bit of it in ME1 with the "hmmm" and "huh" clickables. Also, bringing Ash and Kaidan along on Chellick's mods mission was a must. That banter was funny.

"Huh, nobody died!"

"I could shoot someone if it'd make you feel better,"

"Nah, I'm good, thanks."

ROTFLMAO!

I would like a sekrit pic PM too, please!

My list would have to be Kaidan, Alistair, and then Carth, too, but my all time favorite game romances, from any game developer, would be:

Kaidan

Alistair

Atton Rand (yeah, Obsidian, you can't stop me from romancing him, no matter what you write!)

Valen Shadowsbreath

Anomen (I used to HATE him, but he grew on me over many, many BG2 games)

and then Carth, because I never romanced him, but I ought to try one day.

And Dr. Chakwas can have Joker, because she can't have Kaidan...

I'm going to say

1. Kaidan

2. Alistair (although, when I was in the thick of my fangirl squee, there was a moment that I thought his humor eclipsed all)

3. Atton from KotOR 2

4. Carth

I'd like to add that I played Mass Effect before I went to KotOR, so I was already in love with Sbarge's voice when I met Carth.

Maybe I'll always have a soft spot for Kaidan - he was my very first video game romance. But I think the main thing here is that his personality really translates to what you'd want in a real life man. And we don't get enough of him anywhere. So he retains his "mystery".

I see a lot of my bf in kaidan, so I feel lucky. Despite Kaidan looking totally different and having a (shhhh, don't tell the bf) much more smexy voice. My bf has this Jason Statham bad boy look going for him, which sorta clashes with his character ;)
Hmm..they did an excellent job on Kaidan matching his looks to his character and voice...yummy!

Kaidan was my first too. Posted Image ME was my official introduction to Bioware. Followed by KOTOR and Jade Empire.  I've got BG floating around here somewhere..

By the way, I love all your KOTOR videos on youtube. Posted Image

Am I the only one that had a huge crush on Casavir from Neverwinter Nights 2? The whole protective guardian angel type with broad shoulders, a deep voice and blue eyes thing, never got over it.

That is so beautiful! And sad....:crying:
What did they bury though? Did they even refer to a funeral or anything in ME2?

Ah, my first VG romance was Sky from Jade Empire, and while the mountain scene was swooningly romantic, Kaidan, Alistair, and Carth are so. much. better.  (imho, blah blah blah)  Though, I finally managed to go through a game making Sky all dark and Closed Fist not that long ago, and he gets really intense when he's evilly plotting to kill anyone who gets in your way.   <-- *evil ninja sky surprisingly smexy*

Kaidan is definitely the most 'grown-up' of the romances I think.  Alistair and the PC Grey Warden are really young, after all, and Carth is heavy on the melodrama, for all that it's completely justified and fun to play.

Yea agree, I thought he was ok as a character but the romances were just really marginal in the game with almost no conversation to get any deeper picture of him. I liked Gann more from MoTB (which is one of my top games even though it's just an expansion). He's just such an unusual character.

Nah... nothing mentioned. You know the military and MIAs. I just really liked seeing everyone in this. They all look so heartbroken (particularly Joker, yes?).
