I think they should make it so that when Kaidan sends you the e-mail after Horizon, he calls you by your first name. If he loved you, that ought to be what he uses. I understand why everyone has to call you "Shepard" in conversation, but why bother to give your person a first name, only to never have it anywhere? If they could stick your character name in item descriptions for Baldur's Gate, I think they could put it in Kaidan's e-mail.

I agree, but the programing for that would be a nightmare.  I think back to when, I had too do my programing for my game during calss. It was not fun for me nope. I have a new respect for programers now that I have tried programing my own game.

Ditto. I don't even use my femshep's name in my fanfics - partly so it'll fit with the game where everyone calls her Shepard, but also because in my mind, I insert MY femshep into the fanfics I read, and the immersion is broken a little bit when the given first name isn't mine. Haha does that make any sense?

Yeahh usually I try to push past the name if I can, but if the personality is too different from how I play mine, I can't do it, haha. Ah well. Speaking of fics, maybe I should work on mine... it's awfully quiet in here, isn't it?

I'm writing a fan fiction where Kaidan died protecting Shepard from Saren at Virimire. I want a fan fiction were the relationship progressed a little bit faster I got the idea from Micheal's Fan fic Ghost story. The story is heartbreaking, so its hard to write out.

Yeah, I really don't mind "Jane" or other simple names, but if the name is really out there it breaks immersion.  I probably wouldn't give my Shepard a name in my own fiction, just because I don't want the reader to focus on that rather than the rest of the story.

I don't actually mind identifying characteristics for Sheps.  They don't break my immersion since no one's Shep even remotely resembles mine in her attitudes and actions, even over Sole Survivors and Earthborns.

Agreed. When I write, I try to come up with different ways that I can refer to the characters. If it's an ME character, I'll use their title, rank, race, pronoun, actual name etc. I'm so uptight about sentence variation.

Hey, I admit that the Rocky Horror Kaidan was really bad, and I deserve maybe (some) ire for that, but did ya'll really not like the Phantom of the Normandy? I thought he wasn't half bad.
