For those of you who weren't sure if you'd buy/play through awakening i'd advice to atleast wait for first patch. There are tons of anoying bugs in the game (messed up approval rating, quests that wont show up etc). Am half way through or so and have decided to let the game be untill they fixed the major problems which is really breaking my game experience. Sigh.

I've got to wait for patch 1.03 to be fixed anyways, so I already am waiting. I'm hesitant to play Awakenings, but in the end I'll probably give it a try just to see it for myself at least.

@Jilly: I can totally see the lyrics describing the effects Kaidan have on my Shep though, which is why it reminds me of them. It helps describe the whole bad dialogue on Horizon too.

As far as importing is concerned, as long as the LI shows up in your quarters before Virmire, it counts as being a romance in ME2, even if you didn't consumate!  I've had a bunch of people email me to tell me saves that were marked as no romance actually had one so I've had to go back and change those.

I did a male renegade playthrough once where I killed Kaidan.  I pretty much lost interest right after I did it and never finished that game. 

I started a playthrough of ME2 last night with an imported Shepard from the site where Kaidan was dead just for screenshots of Ash.  I doubt I'll get any further than Horizon. 

Oh yah, and also although no new Kaidan, yesterday I finished playnig / screenshotting all N7 missions, Samara's loyalty (so I've done all loyalties except Tali and Legion) and the IFF, so I've got all recruitments done now.  Got them all tagged and uploaded.  Hoping today I can finish the game and get back to my new ME1 playthrough, and my new DA:O playthrogh for Awakeningss.

I've successfully completed Kaidan free games. (And the scene after Virmire doesn't really change whether you're romancing Kaidan or not, as I recall, which I found sad. And thus reloaded the one where I was romancing him and kept him alive to keep going.)



I quite enjoy watching Ashley confront the Human's First dummies on the Citadel after the lockdown if you've helped her change her mind about aliens. She is awesome. *am sad Ashley has to die so often in my games*

I have tried to do it, but I can't.  I can't let Ashley stay with the nuke, either, seeing her watch the Normandy leave her behind is just too sad.    If I send her to the AA tower, I just imagine she suffered a fatal wound, and Kirrahe's men had to leave her behind while they were going back.  

As for Awakening, yeah, I'm going to wait for mods and a new patch before I play anymore.  I apparently encountered the Silverite Mines bug last night...that or the game just stole my main character's clothes and won't give them back...

Yeah, that is understandable where she comes from, but just like Kaidan and femShep, Ashley ultimately gives into her feelings for maleShep if you pursue her. We're all "human" - metaphorically speaking.

Re: Kaidan aging in ME2: I think he looks fantastic in some of the shots, but, yeah, definitely looking a little rough around the eyes when he's calling Shep out. Probably from all the manly crying.
