Totally agreeee! One of the many things I love about Kaidan. <3 I was rather touched by his "I don't do those things lightly" type response to if you insinuate the teenagers at BAaT were getting it on like bunnies after lights out.  Kaidan is one man who's not going around, creeping into people's bedrooms, spouting sleazy lines about prizes.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. Kaidan and Jacob couldn't be more opposite in that respect.

..and, as usual, finding more than fifty pages for me to read! My internet access is intermittent, so I usually save them all to my harddrive and read them when I get home. So, yeah, I have the whole thread (parts one and two) saved.



Anyway, on the current discussion, I don't see Kaidan as being a one-night-stand kinda guy. I don't believe he sees the night before Ilos like that, and I certainly don't believe he'd engage in one with anyone else after Shepard's death, even if he's hurting. When Kaidan's in pain, he seems to become more serious and more restrained, if anything, as a coping mechanism. A wild night of cathartic passion just doesn't fit in with that



Anyway, the last reason for my post: to show you a little png I whipped up! Lo and behold: Kaidan's photo!

When Kaidan says the citidel doctor is 'nothing serious' he's saying I did not sleep with her. Shep knows him well enough to know if it isn't serious there isn't any sex involved. He pretty much told Shep that much in his conversation with her concerning Baat.

Hey, the dude turned down a threesome with Shepard and a hot asari, because he was interested in a real relationship.  It's possible that he would have a fling or a one night stand while he thought Shepard was dead, but he wouldn't feel good about it, IMO.  And I can't imagine he would have told Shepard about the drinks with the doctor and how it was nothing serious, if it was anything other than drinks.  He wouldn't lie, if he was in a relationship with someone new.

Ok. Allow me, if you would be so kind (and please put down the shotguns I can already see being readied) to paint a picture. It will not be a wholly pretty picture, I'm a afraid, and if you exchange Kaidan for Ashley, it works for the other thread too....

Picture you fall in love with someone, you have one night of passion before a big mission, and then a month together. Then the ship explodes and your love is lost... Imagine you move on abit in the 2 years since that, and you have a few drinks with a doc from the citadel. You don't feel comfortable about it, but its nice to be talking to someone again, even if its not going anywhere. Imagine you give in to that desire to feel good again...even if it was for only one night....

And then imagine the love of your life returns unexpected out of the blue. Now, these aren't normal circumstances.... are you 100% sure your going to admit that you slept with someone else during that lonely time? Would they understand when it was only a few weeks for them? Would you be so confident as to admit to what you did even though you don't have a reason to be guilty...?

I'm not saying it's impossible, he's human, after all, and humans have needs and urges and as far as he knew, Shepard was dead and never coming back, so there was nothing to feel guilty about.

BUT...Kaidan wasn't the one-night stand "type" before he met Shepard, and didn't want to "hook up" with her if it wasn't serious, which is why he would turn down Shepard if she wanted him and Liara.  So it stands to reason that while he was grieving, he wasn't interested in booty calls.  It's possible, but that would have been out of hurting, so I wouldn't have judged him for it, though I'd be surprised.

And personally, if I were in his position, and had had a one time fling with the doctor, I would not have mentioned it to Shepard at all, it would be a lie of omission to mention the drinks and not the other part of the date...so it would be jerky to talk about it at all.  Kaidan's not a jerky guy.

Kaidan just isn't the type for the one nightstand thing, as many have stated. He's the type who needs to love someone before sleeping with them and even then the relationship has to go somewhere first.



Men have needs, sure, but um....it's Staff Commander Alenko now. He got a bunch of promotions in the past two years, that's the sign of a man drowning himself in work alright. I think he found comfort in the job, taking Shepard's advice to do better after losing someone.

Whatever frustrations he might have had, were probably worked out of his sytem with a few bullets and a ton of biotics



If not, oh well.

I just don't see it...Kaidan as always come across as an honest guy. Besides I don't think he would have a problem telling Shep he had been with somebody if he had. He always leaves a way out for himself and telling Shep that he had slept with someone else would be a perfect way to leave a way out...you know...like hey Shep if you can't get past this...I'll understand. 

I do think the extranet fetish sites are a possibility. No real emotional connection there.

There's a solid case that indicates he just hasn't been intimate with anyone since Shepard, but some of us don't like the idea for whatever reason. My reason is that it makes him too perfect, too pure to think he just talked with that girl over drinks once or twice and that's it, I like to think maybe he was starting to like her and think he'd call her up for another date, then BOOM Shepard shows up... 

I definitely see your point, it does make him a little bit too good to be true, perhaps. I just like the idea of him sitting around moping for two years, finally starting to consider living a little again and then Shepard turns his whole world upside down AGAIN with her fantastically bad timing.
