I should have known not to trust Morrigan though.
Her voice actor does a good job of ominous villain though. Even if her idea is incredibly foolish.
I actually really liked that they gave the Quarians such wide-ranging ideas on what to do with the flotilla and the geth... Tali's mission is probably my favorite of all the loyalty missions. I could see where Xen was coming from, actually, even though pretty much all my versions of Shepard disagree with her. The fact that she figures out what Tali's father was up to after the fact makes me wonder what she's going to be up to in ME3...
Haha, when I got that letter after Tali's loyalty quest, I was like, uhoh, is this bad news??? I was half expecting consequences in ME2, but hopefully they'll have the quarians take a major role in ME3...yikes, I have too many expectations, I better lower them before I get disappointed!

Really? no change? That's disappointing. I was considering giving it to her when I got that far on my current renegade playthrough. Might not bother now...Collider wrote...

Though I do hope she's one of the plot threads they pull into ME3. Cause Claudia Black is endlessly entertaining. (Debating between an e-reader and the Farscape boxset as requested b-day presents next month.)

I think I'm going to have to do a different renegade-esque playthrough where my femShep isn't such a heartless witch to everyone but Kaidan (whom she was like putty around).

And she's not totally a heartless witch to anyone in her crew, just to anyone who gets in her way. Which is kinda Kaidan at the moment, since he didn't jump in and trust her and help, thus why she's still mad at him.

I like how Jacob doesn't even factor into the picture despite not being alien =p his romance is horrible.sapphyreelf wrote...
My heartless witch of a renegade is mad at Kaidan, but she's just taking out her anger on Conrad and other people that get in her way. Most of her truly mean decisions were made post-Horizon, so it works out well. She's a Xenophobe though, so there's no temptation from anyone on the ship.

Yep, actually that's a very good point. Cerberus conducts experiments on humans, so Kaidan may have even more reason to dislike it. It's quite ironic that a pro-human group primarily antagonizes humans for their experimentation. It'll be good to take them down in ME3, or at the very least reform them.
Interesting discussion this morning! Just wanted to point out the obvious that especially after what happened to him and his friends at BAaT, what Conatix did, the "accidental" eezo exposure, etc. Kaidan is, I would say, the least likely person to have any sort of positive feelings towards Cerberus (after Jack, I guess, if we count ME2).

I agree. In addition, if he learned about how Cerberus conducted experiments on kids for biotics, he'd hate Cerberus even more. Jack could understandably hate Cerberus even more as she was actually tortured by them, but Kaidan is as you said the most likely to hate them besides.crimsonrhodelia wrote...

I do think that Ashley and Kaidan's romances are better than at least some of the one's in ME2 in the set up aspect. It's more subtle.jillyfae wrote...
Well, the set up for all three femshep romances is awful, despite some better bits later on I've discovered via youtube. They pretty much all require skank-Shep awkwardly hitting on someone to get going. *shudders*

Comments liket his just add to how much I want greatly expanded squad interaction in ME3, cause I want to see
what happens the first time Jack and Kaidan meet. Plus, yes, adding to the Cerberus hate when he hears about that backstory. There is just no way he could ever remotely handle working for or with Cerberus. Not that any of my Shepards were too fond of it either...

The little smile either Ashley or Kaidan get if you have a paragon reaction to getting dragged back to the Normandy after Eden Prime still makes me giggle. They're so cute!

I can't fully express just how much I agree with this. With Ash and Kaidan, you do get a hint that there's an attraction from the very beginning (the smiles/"I'm glad you're okay" after Eden Prime), but there's a LOT more of a give and take of opinion, intelligent discourse, before the flirting really starts. Come to think of it, it's really, really hard for me to pick a favourite romance between Kaidan's and Alistair's - as much as I love to tease and flirt with Alistair, Kaidan may just win out because there's so much depth to him and you really get a feel for his opinions on certain subjects (humanity's place in the galaxy, etc. etc., relationship with the Council races, etc).

I agree. Squad - or party in this case, interaction was among the ones that Dragon Age did right. Actually, in a little poll I did about romance in ME3, the option with the highest votes was having other characters acknowledge and comment that you're in a relationship with your LI. Hopefully Bioware will heed that.jillyfae wrote...

No kidding. It'd be like working for Al-Qaeda. No matter how much you love someone, you'd think them to be doing the wrong thing to be working with a terrorist organization like that. There is just no way he could ever remotely handle working for or with Cerberus.

The subtleness of the Me1 romances was what I liked about them (Liara was a bit more straight forward though). I just don't understand why Bioware went the way they did with some of the romances in Me2. Like someone said a few pages back it almost seems like Cerberus did implant some type of personality device, because it seems really out of character.Collider wrote...

Just stopping by the Kaidan thread for a quick hello! I began replaying my renegade/FemShepxLiara playthrough, whichi is sometimes hard to do, since I can't romance Kaidan

I agree, you get more of a sense of Kaidan's opinion or views than you did with Alistair. Alistair did approve or disapprove of your choices, but I think Kaidan was deeper in this aspect. There were a few things that Dragon Age did better in the romance than in Mass Effect though, like being able to give (meaningful) gifts to each other and develop the romance at your own pace.crimsonrhodelia wrote...

Not to mention the romance continuing after sex! I love Kaidan, he's mature, intelligent, has a sense of humour...not to mention he's very handsome. What's not to love?
