A bit more forward? You just meet Liara and she wants to jump on Shepard already. That's just my opinion though =ptaigin wrote...
(Liara was a bit more straight forward though).
Who knows. It follows the same structure though. You get to know the character (or in the case of Garrus and Tali) get to know them more, and then eventually before the "omg we can die" mission, there's intimacy or the implication of intimacy. There's really no excuse for Jacob's romance though, no idea what they were thinking.I just don't understand why Bioware went the way they did with some of the romances in Me2. Like someone said a few pages back it almost seems like Cerberus did implant some type of personality device, because it seems really out of character.

Oh, undoubtedly so, Collider, but it just shows that those people never bothered to try and get to know the character. Quite honestly, I'd rather let them dwell in ignorance than beat my head against the troll wall.
Okay, I just had to bite when I saw a poster grossly mischaracterize Kaidan's e-mail on Horizon.
"*in email* "Oh I'm sorry, I'm dating a doctor on the Citadel (Dr Michel?
o__0) but let's bonk when you get back, have fun killing the Reapers""

Still believe the Jacob romance was written under the influence of a lot of booze and drunken giggles...Praiizzeee

This just shows that there stupid, enough not too get to know the characters. Most of them, want characters to just blindly follow them in too battle.
On Kaidan, I agree that he wouldn't like Cerberus on the fact they did experiment on kids. With his history at BAAT I wouldn't like Cerberus either I'd hate their guts which all of my Shepard's already do.....:happy:
Edit: I too just was shaking my head as well at that post at well. The night before Ilso reference was prof that too him it wasn't just a fling. <_<

Interesting discussion this morning! Just wanted to point out the obvious that especially after what happened to him and his friends at BAaT, what Conatix did, the "accidental" eezo exposure, etc. Kaidan is, I would say, the least likely person to have any sort of positive feelings towards Cerberus (after Jack, I guess, if we count ME2).
It just occurred to me that he probably views Shepard joining Cerberus as her cutting corners. All that wisdom he tried to impart about where Conatix went wrong out the window.

I just shook my head at that post, Chelsea. It was a gross mischaracterization, but trying to argue with someone who refers to pre-Ilos as a "bang" isn't going to go well, imo.
Probably so, but I guess I have a little Kaidan in me. I can't just sit by and watch somebody I love (even a fictional character) being maligned without making my voice heard in some way.

Some people will read whatever they want to read or see whatever they want to see. Same goes for us in a way. But I applaud you for making the effort, go Joi

Well, it's not just cutting corners. There's also that lingering doubt if Shep just faked the whole death thing to join up two years ago. You can tell him you were clinically dead, but people don't come back from the dead, so it is easier to rationalize that Shep was never really dead, and I think that factors partly into the reaction on Horizon.
Agreed, even Shep's mom (as a Spacer) believes something like that. It does make sense come to think of it, it's just easier to believe indeed.
I just feel sorry for both Kaidan and Shep for the whole death thing, it's just so unreal...all of it.

Yep, I saw. Surprisingly civilly, too. I think I'm going to leave it there, though; I just don't know what to say. If the guy thinks Kaidan is the sort to "bang" then he obviously didn't take the time to get to know him. I submit as evidence this quote:
"I'm not the kind of person who does that sort of thing, at least not lightly."

If a loved one I thought was dead suddenly reappeared, and there were already rumors floating around that they were alive and working for terrorists, it would take more than a casual "Oh, I was dead, but they brought me back" to make me understand what the heck was going on. I'd be seriously confused and freaked out.
The person in the Thane vs. Kaidan thread who claims it's their "personal interpretation" that Kaidan is saying he's dating the doctor now and wants to "bang" when you come back is full of it. If they had actually talked to Kaidan at all in the first game you'd know that Kaidan is not at all like that. You can "interpret" his letter as saying that he wants to murder Shepard in her sleep and hears voices, but you'd be wrong about that too...

The entire situation's horrible. Go Bioware for upping the angst, I guess.
