I was actually peeved with my shep at first for taking TIM's words that the council or Alliance wouldn't help on faith at first rather than checking her/himself. Obviously this turns out to be true but at that stage she has no reason to believe anything he says. I was po'd at Kaidan on Horizon (& with the writers for making shep say some really lame things) but when I thought about it I agreed with everything he said because that was my reaction to shep being with Cerberus at the start of the game. His email went a long way to giving me hope for ME3, although I was disappointed that I couldn't find him (or his whereabouts) on the Citadel after the suicide mission, or at least send some kind of reply to him.
